Port Kembla Shipping (PKS) brings you this video special: Dubai to Southampton aboard the Cunard Line 'Queen Elizabeth'. Edited to the best of my ability, starting in Dubai on April 19 2014, we visit ports of Aqaba, Haifa, Naples, Palma, Lisbon and the Suez Canal before arriving in Southampton on May 9. All natural sounds, enjoy.

Excellent. Memories of the Norfolk Line's "Race Horses" that were here at Dover years ago. At 23:23 we see one of the sisters Zurbaran, which I caught up with a few years ago in Mahon, Menorca! Great video, thank you for taking the time to film, edit and publish it. Nige

Back in the 1980s I worked on the construction of a road tunnel under the Suez canal, between Suez and The Bitter lakes. We would often walk down to the canal and watch the ship pass by, we were lucky to see the Old QE 2, The UK's Royal Yacht Britannia, aircraft carriers and other navy ships of many nations.
I learnt to sail on the Bitter Lakes and spend our days off at the Pilots Club, even get Fish & Chip in Ismailia at a Greek restaurant.
That was a wonderful trip you went on, thanks for posting the video it brought back memories.

My family had to flee Egypt in 1956 because of the Suez war. Would like to one day take a similar cruise. Shame ships on this route can't stop anywhere between Egypt and Oman like Massawa in Eritria as it's too dangerous.

Traveling on a ship, though it is time consuming, has less anxiety than traveling on aeroplane. It is a luxurious tranquil sea journey, rather the person is on a mobile hotel.

just thought now I wonder what the People of Lisbon thought when they realised the 3 British Queens was in their port together, I bet they were surprised to see the QUEEN ELIZABETH and the QUEEN MARY 2 arrive together then to see the QUEEN VICTORIA to arrive a bit later what a treat for them and I bet it was rare for all these European countries to have all 3 Dock in their countries together, while for us Brits its a regular thing, also were they 3 Portuguese naval vessel out there standing guard over the 3 queens as they seem to be just anchored there not moving?

great video. Looks like Cunard had to show off all of its ships at the end. I had the chance several times to take a cruise on QE2 and one of the Queen Mary, but after reading some of the comments I decided not to. The ships must not be in best of shape.

Wonderful video. Egypt is magical and incredibly beautiful. To think there was so much fighting between the Israelis and Egyptians there in 1967 but not as much as there was during the war of attrition from 1967 to 1970 and especially when all hell broke loose on October 6th, 1973 at 2:00 pm when the Egyptian army attacked the west side of the bank in Sinai where the mighty Bar Lev line was built by the Israelis as an impenetrable barrier to any military assault. Yet a 2-hour barrage of thousands of Egyptian artillery across the entire 101 miles of the canal from Port Said in the northern most point to the southern end at Suez City from the east bank onto the west bank and it took the Egyptian army 12 hours to lay down dozens of floating bridges and send 90,000 troops across the entire 101 mile stretch of the Suez Canal and seize full control of all 16 Israeli outposts and control the entire Bar lev line, taking hundreds of Israeli prisoners at the same time. 3 weeks of heavy fighting that brought the superpowers Russia and the United States to a state of nuclear standoff and a global, oil crisis in the end. The Egyptian army held on to the entire west bank of the Suez Canal and by 1975, the Israelis were forced to retreat almost halfway into Sinai and the Suez Canal was reopened to shipping lanes controlled by Egypt, of course. In 1977, President Anwar Al Sadat visited Israel in a historic trip to offer peace in exchange for the rest of Sinai which of course, belongs to Egypt and it was either that or have to suffer another war which was not in Israel's best interest at that point. And so Egypt has since prospered from the canal and the beauty of the biblical peninsula of Sinai to this day. Where Moses crossed the Red Sea with the Israelites a little south of Suez City. Some of the most beautiful Red Sea destinations. People who visit the Suez Canal probably don't know the history behind it with regards to the wars, let alone the construction of the canal and Ferdinand de Lesseps who took advantage of Said Pasha in a schemed contract to pay for the majority of the digging and building of the canal in 1869. By 1956, president Gamal Abdel Nasser realized it belonged to Egypt and Egypt should be profiting from it not those who took advantage of Egypt to line their pockets with money. So in order to improve the lives of Egyptians, Nasser needed to build the Aswan dam to provide the electricity Egypt needed and what better way to fund that than by nationalizing the Suez Canal to take it away from the hands of those who scammed Said Pasha, ruler of Egypt at the time and that devastated the hundreds of thousands of poor Egyptians who basically slave-built practically with their bare hands in 1869 only leading the Suez Crisis of 1956 that ended in the humiliation of Great Britain, France and Israel which jumped the bandwagon as well. All three had to withdraw in shame and humiliation only to see Nasser and Egypt gain full control of this vital and important asset that truly belonged to no one else but the Egyptian people. Some amazing history to this body of water and that blessed land.

he ship is getting old and boring. Just came back from 16 days Cunard. It degraded a lot. food quality and quantity BAD. especially at the Lido. Super short handed. It is at the Carnival cruise style. No dance host, no queens room Hostess, no professional dancer exhibition, etc. will not recommend for this price ( we are diamond on Cunard, not a newbie)
