Thank you for the Kiribati footage. I used to live there as a kid (late 1970s) - missionary family. Was there when they gained their independence. Love the friendly people of Kiribati. Nice to see how some things have changed while others remain the same. South Tarawa was much less crowded. There were mostly thatch huts and fewer vehicles. Now I'm back in U.S.A. Brings back lots of memories.
Hey, thank you! I loved this island so much, had such a great time there. Since I came from Nauru, it was a rather short flight, less than 90 minutes. But to get into that area generally, yeah takes some effort 😅
@@OneManWolfPack I imagine so because of the sea levels but I know the locals were very excited && thats shorter than I'd expect. Well, my great great great great etc. are from tawara...more specifically betio when the waters weren't so high bc of the climate change issues affecting the population. It sad but I plan on visiting within "this lifetime " to reconnect.
