    I am watching from Papua New Guinea and I truly after viewing this clip fell in love with Kiribati. I love it because of its natural beauty and it's simplicity. I hope to pay a visit anytime in the near future. Love Kiribati ❤❤❤

    It was my daughter's third country - USA, Fiji, Kiribati.
    In terms of sightseeing, you've captured more of South Tarawa than any other TH-cam source I've found. Thanks for the effort you've put in.

      Thanks for watching. I just captured what happened to me. I wasn’t trying to compete with other TH-camrs since this isn’t my job, just a hobby.

      @@JaysWorldTravels What motivates you to go to the extra effort to record everything? I'd imagine it's a burden to schlepp a camera everywhere. But it's that extra effort (or possibly audacity) that answers the myriad questions I've had about Betio. Once the site of one of the bloodiest and most intense battles of WWII, and now the site of one of the highest population densities in the world, makes me wonder what the heck it must look like! Yet all I see on the internet are schools, churches, government buildings, businesses, and traffic. Where do all the people live? How do they live? You've provided that insight.

      Yes, 2018. I didn’t stay at the hotel, only stored my bags, but I met the workers there. Seems like a nice hotel. This video seems to have become popular.

    How much hotel cost for 1 night? Are there apartments available for long stay like 1-2months? If yes how much does it cost?

    Hi. Such an amazing video. Loving the vibe. I will go to Kiribati soon. You gave me some inspiration to go. I booked my flight and I am trying to book a hotel. I contacted the Tabon Te KeeKee Eco-Lodge many times through different channels but never got an answer. How did you manage to book your hotel? Many thanks in advance for your help. Safe travels. 😊

      To be honest, I never stayed at a hotel. Kiribati is one of the few countries, where you can walk up to a house and ask if you can stay with them. They are welcoming. But I’m a member of couchsurfing and have stayed with strangers on my travels and I’m accustomed to this type of traveling. It’s a way for me to become involved in the local culture. But if you’re going to stay at a hotel, perhaps try finding their number on google or bookings. I’m happy that I inspired you. Greetings from Mykonos, Greece today. I love visiting islands.

    I highly recommend everybody read the book the sex lives of cannibals by j Maartin. About a guy from New York who moves to Kiribati for two years with his wife. So amusing and so educational

    46% obesity rate. I'm trying to figure out - what are they eating?

    • @JaysWorldTravels
      @JaysWorldTravels  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A lot of imported snacks and junk food. They should be eating more of their local foods.

    • @Kima89
      @Kima89 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Due to the geography and climate of the atolls, next to no fresh fruits and vegetables are able to be grown there, and they are forced to import the bulk of their food items from thousands of miles away by ocean liner, usually from australia. The only foods that save for this long are packaged, high salt, high fat things and certainly nothing fresh. I believe the only foods truly native to the island would be breadfruit , coconut and fish
