  • the BMW i4 M50 has arrived to shake up the EV market. The rivals such as the Polestar 2 and Tesla Model 3 migt have just met their match, as a range of 270 miles and dual electric motors that produce 536 hp and 586 lb ft of torque could be enough to make the i4 M50 the best car in the segment. Best of all you have an interior that provides the technology you expect in this price range, and the BMW i4 overall is just very well balanced. So let's see how the 2022 BMW i4 M50 stacks up against the competition.
    Huge thank you to Herb Chambers BMW of Sudbury for providing the BMW i4 for this review!

    Great review and on point. I have test driven the M50 and it is so much feels like a conventional car that you almost forget it’s an EV. ❤

    Looks like a good quality EV option. Too bad our local bmw dealer is clueless when they can get an order slot and really clueless when a delivery would be :(.

    I-Pace is a good luxury option that’s much less than 100K. It gets overlooked by many for sone odd reason.

      Etron weighs so much more, drives like a tank, and range is not competitive.

    I reserved this in mid march and somehow it’s just gone into production. They must’ve significantly ramped up production due to the incredible demand generated by this video no doubt.

    A very good review. The only thing missing for me is a rear wash wipe but it has not stopped me ordering one which is due in June. It is just like an ordinary car and I don’t want a SUV.

    Does this have the shadowline package? The outline of the grille looks lighter than other videos ive seen of the car

    • @BostonAutoBlog
      @BostonAutoBlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tim, this i4 doesn’t have the shadowline package equipped, which personally I wish it did because the champagne colored accents really makes the kidney grilles stand out.

    Why does "the nose" have to be so big?? It's an electric vehicle

  • @omarastacio3939
    @omarastacio3939 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Very detailed review. Thank you. Love the car, but one complaint is that the vehicle you are driving is not sold at the price you indicated. Color is extra, wireless charger is extra, rims extra, leather extra, driving assist extra, technology package is extra, comfort package is extra. If you want to compare it to prices of other vehicles, you should compare the price "as equipped". Build quality is without a doubt better, in my opinion, than tesla, jury is still out with regard to comparison to the Polestar 2. The bigger price gap may be worth it for some but not for others. And don't forget dealer markups in these hard times.

  • @connorbasile

    Idc what anyone says, this car looks so badass. Total head turner. Personally, teslas are cringey and embarrassing to the max, wouldn’t even be seen as a passenger in one. So it’s nice that there are so many nice EV options these days.

    I would get the BMW I4 M40, cheaper and lighter.
    Tesla reminds me of Apple they are getting too comfortable the competition is catching up fast, wait until the Chinese EVs come to the US.

      I own one of those big Tesla screens and although it works well, I am really liking the look and outstanding quality of this BMW. What Tesla has done with their screen layout lately and its lack of customization is really starting to piss me off.

    BMW should stop using "Ultimate driving machine" on i4 as it build as half ass crap :( Share platform with gas car is just a joke, they could at least, remove rear seat bump and add frontk. Especially the USA version which they STRIPPED Welcome Door wing light and Automatic Tow. USA car dealers always like to strip car parts :( how greedy

  • @klaus8458
    @klaus8458 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Too bad they made it so ugly with that puke grill. The range is bad and this thing is no M car as it's way to heavy. Harry's Garage did a more honest unsponsored review of this exact car, check it out. In real life under 200 mile range. No thanks BMW, I'll hang onto my 2018 M3 for awhile longer.

    • @haywood41
      @haywood41 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. It's not a dedicated M car and it won't compete on handling or in the corners. It wasn't built for that. Also, you're incorrect about the range. It will easily do 250 miles or more depending on conditions and tire package. Current European owners have already proven that. There is no better EV sedan right now for the price. And this is BMW's first shot at it. It will only get better.

    This is so ugly and the front end is cringe! For a BMW M this is embarrasing to the max. Range sucks and Im sure it will be unreliable as a BMW since they want to ensure the techs will remain busy. I'll take Ioniq5, EV6 or even a Tesla over this overpriced garbage all day long.

    • @haywood41
      @haywood41 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3
