I live in NYC.... just leased a BigBend.... I absolutely love it.... I'm an retired automotive Engineer... Had a 2022 Volvo XC90 lease ending and wanted something smaller for NYC...My sister works for Ford and said to check out the Bronco Sport... it is perfect for NYC ... I live in Queens and is a major advantage slipping thru tight areas of trucks doubled parked delivering packages etc.... Bumpers are not painted so no need to worry about parallel parking and someone hitting your bumper... great gas mileage also... This truck is very quick with the 1.5 liter turbo... more than enough for NYC ... very big interior for a compact truck... 17" rims and tires are perfect to avoid rim rash from curbs... the approach angle in the front is also to it's advantage for pulling into driveways that are usually steep for normal cars like my apartment building parking lot which is common here... it being a real 4x4 awd is important to me when I go skiing up north and have to get to the cabin driving down some snowy 2 track trails that I would avoid in the XC90... couldn't ask for a more perfect vehicle for me.... very very very happy with it especially for the money.........................
Have a 2023 Outer Banks…1.5 liter, added the ford trailer hitch…with Thule cross bars and curt roof rack. The mileage was 27-30 with factory Michelin “mileage” tires, put on more aggressive suv tread tires and with roof rack still getting 24-26 mpg…love this little vehicle…live in a rural area so the all wheel drive and no a hitch, provides the trailer link up(aluma trailer - light weight) saying all that these vehicles are so under utilized and looked down on. After a year plus - one of the favorite vehicles have owned
Very good review! I appreciate your thoroughness and how you distinguish this from the typical rugged “station wagon” or as you call it, lifted hatch. They have their place but I’m looking for something special to drive and this may be it
I currently have a 2020 Escape and have been considering trading it in for a Bronco Sport. I am so torn. I love my Escape, but I really love the look of the Bronco Sport. Still undecided. Great review.
The Forester is 10 inches longer than the Bronco Sport and because of that there’s less legroom in the Bronco Sport for the 2nd row. While it can compete with both the Crosstrek and Forester, it’s not a traditional compact crossover like the Escape and wouldn’t be a direct competitor to any of the vehicles in that segment.
@@BostonAutoBlog appreciate the detailed response - I bought a 24 forester (2.9%, couldn't beat it) before the new 25's came out, but was considering a Bronco sport (though didn't sit in the back seat to notice the difference in leg room) the forester has a surprising amount of back seat room - couldn't believe it from looking at the outside
Is the 1.5 3 cylinder enough I just traded my 3 yr old for a new outer bank and didn’t realize the 1.5 was a 3 cylinder till I saw TH-cam videos it has plenty of power

A THREE CYLINDER ENGINE in this vehicle??!! Is this a joke? 1.5 litre?? My last motorcycle engine was bigger than this. What the hell is Ford thinking?
My motorcycle is a 1.7 litre. It’s all about turbocharged tiny engine that works its ass off to get mediocre fuel mileage. And the 1.5 is the engine that Ford had all the failures with the wet belt and belt tensioner failures that destroyed the engine. And many people paid big bucks to get fixed or replaced before Ford finally admitted there issue. Not much new here, Ford been building and denying what should be warranted for years. Lots of really bad engineering from Ford. They do eventually figure out that they need to step up and re-engineer there failures…….. Buy the 4 cyl 2.0 litre I think Ford has actually fixed most of the initial engineering failures with that engine…………….
@@davidlepoidevin4239 Thanks for your reply. Do you have the 3 cyl Bronco? Is the power adequate? I am trying to get an honest opinion /evaluation from an owner. Ford is turning Bronco into it's own brand.... the aim is head to head competition for Jeep
Just got my fully loaded 2024 Outer Banks Bronco 3 days ago , I am enjoying it a lot more than my 2018 Escape.
I'm getting mine on Monday in Atlas Blue! I'm so excited!
I just bought a Ford Big Bend Bronco Sport and I am enjoying it. Thank you for the review.
I have a 2024 and love my Bronco
Outstanding video!!! You just helped me with my decision!!! I’m buying!!! Thank you for covering this vehicle!!
You will not regret it I love mine
I have two 2023 Bronco Badlands Sports. No complaints, great vehicles. Nice job, Ford Motor.
Does that Badlands have the 2.0 engine? Are you happy with it?
@gars1074 yes, 2.0. Very pleased 😀.
Tell me please which is better and more brutal? Outer banks or badlands ? Which the most expensive?
@КотВаська-д1к Badlands is more costly and better off road.
We have a 2022 outer banks..
Fun to drive... love the Bronco Sport

i'm confused why the main subaru comparison mentioned is the crosstrek? Wouldn't this be more comparable to the Forester in terms of size/cargo/etc?

180 hp 190 torque is good enough for anything. My truck is 160hp from 14 yrs ago and goes up steep mountains fine.
The crosstek wilderness has the cool factor, but not as much as this car.
The crosstrek wilderness is hideous looking.
The Badlands has a much more powerful engine plus a locking rear axle.
My biggest complaint about reviewers, they never get into the meat and potatoes of the vehicles they review.
How is total range?
no one is 5'5 can we get someone 6'

@robm3357 that's the 1.0 not the 1.5 the 1.5 needed the redesign for the coolant intrusion problem.
1.5L 3 cylinder a shit motor, they need a better motor, at least 2L 4Cylinder
