    This track review and tier list rating technically has an asterisk by it due to the all season tires. I will do another track review when I have my hands on an i4 with at least summer performance tires!
    Enjoy!

      Yes, for track duty the 20" tire package will probably make a noticeable improvement.

      @@hotrod182 I am going to do it because after some more time with the car (it’s at my work) it really is a phenomenal car.

    The high performance wheel/tire package does transform the car on the track. I drove two M50 back to back on the track, one with 19” non staggered all seasons and then one with the 20” staggered setup. It made a huge difference in the corners, turn in, apexing and exit. Based on your review I think you already know it’s a great chassis and just needed better grip with all that power and weight. It is true you really can’t feel what the front tires are doing through the steering wheel, improvements is steering feedback would be welcome. Overall the i4 M50 is in my opinion the best performance EV on the market.

      I leased a 2024 M50.
      Thing is a sleeper and will blow away most all competition.

    I love your channel and Reviews but It’s unfortunate here. It really seems like you’re panning the vehicle and mocking it as opposed to taking it for what it is. Certainly it can hold its own on the race track for speed, performance,handling and luxury like a premium EV should but I don’t think you’re offering a fair comparison here. What I don't see is ppl showing the value as compared to the iPad on wheels for not having adaptive suspension, real hands free traffic assistant, really good lights, Apple and Android integration, instrument cluster, HUD, leather and a host of other things you just can’t get on those other cars.
    I think they made a super fast luxury priced appropriate vehicle that stands above the mundane Blue red white or black 3 that 20 ppl have in my 5 block radius. Just my own venting :) I’m locked in and ordered. Can’t wait for it to be my every day driver.

      Oh, no, please, vent away! I appreciate the comment and support!
      I apologize in potentially striking the wrong chord with you however I need to clarify I am not mocking the i4 at all and should shift focus to how bad the tires are on a track. That’s obviously not the i4’s fault as you’re 1,000% correct that the i4 in its segment is far ahead of the competition. I am very excited about the i4 just because of how good of a car it is for what it needs to accomplish. The value for the quality you’re getting will make you never shed a thought of buyer’s remorse; you’re going to love yours and I guarantee you that!
      In hindsight, remember I am just a goon that takes whatever with 4-wheels and drives the piss out of it to tell you what the car is doing dynamically, not a features review channel. For what it’s worth 95% of the consumers for the i4 will never take their car to a racetrack so they’ll have plenty enough for the open, legal roads!

    • @VictorPitstop
      @VictorPitstop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@filoniz I think you’re comparing Single motor vs dual motor my friend… go build a Model 3 Performance (dual motor) and get back to us versus the i4 M50. $20k is not the number to throw out because you’re comparing the single motors to the dual motors.
      You’re also getting superior build quality to boot.

    I have heard others talk about the steering and handling. Now I have a better idea what they meant. Thanks for that. The torque steer issue is good to know about, even if it never surfaces for me.
    I should have my M50 within 5 weeks.

      The more time I’ve had to reflect on the M50, the more reassurance of how great of a car they are. Everyday driving is amazing. There is nothing like it in terms of comfort and quietness along with sheer speed! Congrats to you in advanced and enjoy it!

    Great job man, thank you very much for your great videos and your channel! For next driving videos with manual cars, it could be possible to fix a camera on the pedalbox to film your footwork please? :)

      I’ll eventually get my hands on one. I also need to do the 40 single motor to see if the weight difference is a solid factor.

  • @davesax11
    @davesax11 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting review. I agree with Yoni5 your perspective is a bit off. Tires def a factor here, as is the weight. Nonetheless, you didn't realize how easily the car was handling "at speed." - and you defeated some of the electronics designed to keep you in line. Actually IMHO, all vehicles should be evaluated using all season tires under a variety of conditions - and then weighting applied to combine dry, wet and snow conditions. Steering feel should def be improved, tho. Next generation will likely be lighter since designed from the ground up as an EV.

    • @VictorPitstop

      Thanks for the input. I appreciate you watching.
      The fact is I’m still having a lot a fun despite the tires. I understand there are a lot of new people coming to the channel but I prefer to do away with a conventional car reviews. As I stated in the video a handful of times, it’s an amazing car for the street; as far as the tires are concerned on the track, I will need to reevaluate when I have an i4 with driving focused tires because I have a feeling this car will be amazing.
      Again, I appreciate your support!

      @@VictorPitstop This is my first non manual car in over 50 years. The range is disappointing for road trips, but otherwise its my fav. B mode is like driving a manual without the need to shift. Testor did need to be set up /" tuned" for the track. Inc the tires.

    Got one of these on order - due in a few weeks (although I’ll believe it when 8 see it - as been put back and back again)
    Great to have a review that focuses on the car in a wholly track environment - learnt lots from this that other reviews just don’t even touch upon
    Quad motor “proper” M version is on the way apparently

    • @VictorPitstop
      @VictorPitstop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They really are a great EV with actual character.
      That quad motor M will be an absolute animal. I just hope they let the power spike under cornering so you can hoon it a little!
