Happy New Year everyone!! I apologize for the lack of uploads lately, I've been waiting for many parts to come in. Also, this new twist is gonna be expensive so I've been hard at work trying to cover the expenses🤙 we're back on track and kicking things off the right way for 2024. Thank you all for the support!
Dude, I love the attention to detail. I can't wait to see the first carbon fiber panel. It would be nice to weigh the panels for comparison; just for fun. Keep up the good work.
You might get some low spots where you sanded on the bed sides where they were resting on the sawhorse. It looks like a high spot when its got the sawhorse pushing up on the back side of the panel, but when you sand it off then take it off of the sawhorse it becomes a low spot. Once you're done with all of the molds you can sell carbon fiber or carbon body panels, I'm sure someone else wants a full carbon C10... that could help you get more funds to add to this build!
When filling in the small, seams around marker lights and such try Modeling Clay instead of the body filler. It's a bit easier and faster. Loving the build..! I'll be trying to make Carbon fenders on my project in a few months. I can see you getting a call for PRI / SEMA in the near future.
Man i just found ya about a week ago and have already watched every video. I love the truck its insane what u have done with it considering the shape it was in when u started. I kinda hate to see ur going to go carbon fiber after saving the metal and turning it into what it is. I say finish this one and do an all carbon truck on the next build!
how am i going to powder coat carbon fiber? lol... can't wait to see the process. i've started working on my 1981 rx7 so that'll be going up shortly...maybe i'll have to come talk to you about making the molds and make some carbon panels for it
There is a few parts I'm looking at potentially doing carbon fiber with.... my rx7 doesn't have to many panels that can be removed like your truck. So I need to figure out if the weight savings will be worth it or if an extra psi of boost would do the same lol
I building c10 67 of my own, im considering using the factory tail light openings and tunneling them back 3 or 4 inches with some polished stainless tunnels one in the small upper opening one in the lower ,stainless will reflect the brake lights and blinkers . I wish you could do this on your build . I know i could learn from your method and mine would be cool and easier for me To get right. Either way this build kicks ass!
So are you possibly thinking about selling carbon fiber body panels you make with your molds? I have a 69 I'm building and would be very interested in body panels
Happy New year wish you and your family blessings for 2K24...love the new dimension this build is taking keen to see the end results of the carbon fibre panel's...
Maybe use hot glue to hold the filler pieces in so that you dont get that separation..also have you thought about using strengthening rope to the mould to avoid warpage?
So hyped to see what this new year brings with the build. I have a question I am building a 69 c10. I live in the sout here in America and it might not be as cold as Canada. But I am trying to make sure the cab is as isolated as possible. Do you think it will be worth my time to separate the inner and outer cad roof panels to fill it with spray foam?
The only problem with that, is the shape of the quarter panels and fenders are matched to my cab which is custom bodywork. I don’t think it would match up on a normal cab. But I’ll be trying some things out to see if it’s possible👍👍
@@ag_trucks that's very true! My truck will also have custom panels but probably won't line up correctly. If you can figure out how to do a universal wide body fender flare set for the c10 I'm more than happy to be the Guinea pig!
Nice progress on your track truck! when you demold your parts if you use some air pressure in between the mould and your cast or the part you are imitating.
Please check your audio - this entire video had your audio peaking and clipping. It was just on the edge, but consistent enough that I heard it all the way through.

Dude this is freaking awesome
Happy New Year Alec! Great work, looks amazing. Piece of functional art. Looking forward to more videos. ❤

We need a update!
Yooo!!! Alec, looooveee it bro!!! A full custom chassis and a hand built carbon fiber body is gonna be nuts!!!!! Keep crushing it bro!!
Give the panel a shot of air to separate it from the mold. Helps with the release. Progress looks great 👍

When will your 68 kit trucks be coming for sale??
cant wait for this channel to blow up, I cant get enough of this build
New video please
Great attention to detail on those body panels. Will you be painting over the carbon fibre? Doing a brilliant job as always. Happy new year man 👍👍👌
This build just keeps getting better and now lighter too.
Where are we at with the build? Waiting on that next vid can’t wait to see the progress
Just uploaded an update! I apologize for the extended delay!

Loving the build..!

What's crazy is you could probably sell your old panels for a decent chunk of change to re coupe some money (if you wanted to)

I think you’re nuts! Which is great! You’ll have too add weight to get the tires to hook up!
This is a super cool build!! I can't wait to see more.
How much shorter is your bed from the regular short bed?
Have you measured your wheelbase? Curious how short it is
This guy went through building almost the entire body for his project. It's super cool. Also a Canadian. www.youtube.com/@ThrottleStopGarage
I've watched his videos! Very well done and great work. Have learned a few things from him for sure👍 thank you
She’s goin to be so light tooo dammm is she goin to be 4x4 ???
Do you have a video on the chassis?
You said canada ??Were abouts ?

Haha, if you need a hood, I’ll definitely be able to do something!

Insane build
❤

Boy that’s gonna be interesting to see the process of making the panels into carbon fiber very cool
Happy New year wish you and your family blessings for 2K24...love the new dimension this build is taking keen to see the end results of the carbon fibre panel's...
Ive always wanted to do this. The cab weighs 800lbs. How many mils are you gunna make it?
I'm just curious, what you're going to do with a rear lid, because if it's from fiberglass, air drag at high speed can rip it out I guess
Maybe use hot glue to hold the filler pieces in so that you dont get that separation..also have you thought about using strengthening rope to the mould to avoid warpage?
More amazing work, lookng forward to the progress and new direction!
Game changer! Looking forward to all that carbon fiber 😋
Your work is always amazing, keep it up💛👍🏼
The amount of detail you do looks like you doing a Sema build. It would be amazing.
Love the your videos I allways watch as they posted💯
Hoping to have a build quality that meets and exceeds sema standards!
Looking forward to your next video.

No that won’t do a thing for you
A new direction, im ready
Amazing work
So cool
What tires are those ?
Fantastic work Alec! Just Beautiful! 😍🤩
Thank you very much!! Can't wait to make all the parts from Carbon!
You should also look into a louvered tailgate, or those special fifth-wheel tailgates with large openings for air to pass through.
Air passing through is bad
I want a set of fenders and bedside flare sections if you make them to sell!!
The only problem with that, is the shape of the quarter panels and fenders are matched to my cab which is custom bodywork. I don’t think it would match up on a normal cab. But I’ll be trying some things out to see if it’s possible👍👍

Super cool move and now you can sell panels so fans can clone or customize based on an awesome foundation. Great strategy!
