We Took our 3 Engine 30HP Mini Bike to the Drag Strip

  • Our 3X Tillotson 212cc 3 engine mini bike goes to the drag strip! It turns out that this 10' long mini bike makes for a great drag mini bike chassis due to the extended wheelbase. The Tillotson 212 engines are purring nicely, especially after we bypass the Tillotson 212 governors. This mini bike's top speed is more than 60mph right now, but we're shooting for 70+ mph when we install three high performance stage 2 Tillotson 212cc engines.

    • @Grannybang35
      @Grannybang35 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Considering the engines are not timed together the effects would likely be restrictive due to the large size of that exhaust, but if they all ran off of one 3 cylinder coil that could work well...

      @tomstech4390 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@Grannybang35 You would literally have to sync all the cranks within a degree of each other which isn't possible, Thats true for the ignition and the exhaust.

    Love your work and videos! Now, a larger tire adds more rotational mass, which means the initial launch is harder to get moving but helps with the top end. That's why they invented wrinkle walls. Small diameter to launch, but expands for top speed. In your case, I would stick with a smaller tire and just work with the gearing to get that bottom number quicker. Just a trial and error thing and what you desire. Getting off the line is only the first part but also one of the most important. Maybe find a tire in the middle of what you have and work with the gearing

    Had a similar "fuel starvation" issue with a 212 predator motor after bypassing the governor, go down the road wide open and it cut out like it was out of fuel. I found when i cracked the lid on the fuel tank i didnt have that issue anymore, it would catch back up and run fine again. Torque converters on all 3 of those motors would be badass

    Love it. You could run 3 hot 212s with 3 torque converters fairly easily, use one looooong 420 or 428 chain with some cleverly placed idler sprockets to get the wrap you need on the driven sprockets. Kind of like what you did on the reverse engine fat tyre bike. Hell, you could probably mount the idlers to the TAV backing plates. Then that thing would really haul.

    Issac ... Got an Idea for You three.
    • 3 Bicycles. One for each of you guys.
    • Strap Stock 2-Stroke Engines to the bikes.
    • Race your own bikes around the Track. See who wins.
    Now after that, make mods to the engines.
    You guys can easily make 6+ video of this. 3 video each building your stock engine bicycles at least. 2-3 videos dialing in your stock performance before racing on the c&c track. 1-3 actually racing alone and all three bikes at once.
    Then the mid vids... Countless videos as you upgrade 49cc to 79cc to 100+cc 2stroke engines. Air filters, carbs, fuel tanks, handle bars, rims/wheels, tires, etc...
    Then eventually 2stroke Bicycles vs 4stroke bicycles... Etc...

    I will tell you how I change small tires on lawnmowers etc. Let the air out obviously, then to break the bead I like to take a sturdy pry bar/crowbar put it as close to the rim and bead as possible preferably between the rim and bead if possible. Then drive a truck onto the bar. Sometimes it can take a couple times depending on how long the tire has been on the rim but it will break the bead seal. Then I basically do what Ike was doing with the screwdriver but I have a couple pry bars meant for changing tires. I like to put a bar in the axle hole to push the bars against. Also most importantly use plenty of soapy water or tire changing lube, it makes the process a lot easier.

    Not running out of fuel. The stack carb is jetted to run roughly 3600 rpm and is lean at 5500 with bypassed governors.
