My Favorite Kenny Rodgers Song From Kenny Rodgers & The First Edition Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In Have A Blessed Day Steve
My favorite Kenny Rogers song is, "I Feel Sorry For Anyone That Isn't Me Tonight." I also like "Every Time Two Fools Collide." I saw Kenny at the New York State Fair when I was a kid. He had Dotty West on with him as a special guest. It was a show I'll never forget. Thanks for showing us Kenny's final resting place.
Hi Mr. Steve 👋 Thank you for visiting the great Peach 🍑 State of Atlanta Georgia 🍑 You were only 100 miles from Macon Georgia. Thanks for visiting Kenny Rogers and Margaret Mitchell final resting place ❤🎉❤🎉 Always noisy in Atlanta. Maybe one day you'll make it farther south to Macon and visit the Historic Rose Hill Cemetery, the final resting place of Gregg Allman and most of his band members. As always, you never disappoint. Take care and lots of love ❤️ 🎉
The first song that involved Kenny Rogers that I really loved was "Just Dropped In" by Kenny Rogers and The First Edition. The beginning of that song was sort of psychedelic to me at the time and there were some really cool vocal effects in it as well. Great song! This was a great video and a beautiful cemetery. I love the old brick walls and walkways. I'll bet there are more bricks under the asphalt. Must have been really beautiful when it was first laid out. Thanks Steve!
I love Margaret Mitchell, Gone With The Wind is my favorite book and my favorite movie. I've loved it since I read it as a 6th grader. I'm 58 years old. So, not old but not young either. I love history and I always read GWTW with history in my mind. I hate that so many want to erase the past. History is important. Rather, it's good, bad, or indifferent. History is a great teacher. We should learn from every moment! ❤❤❤
Agree 100% Like you, I read the book for the first time at a young age. And the movie is epic, gripping. I wish it could be appreciated for what it is, a romanticized version of the Civil War south, rather than being placed under a microscope to be censored.
Whoa I wish my husband could have seen Bobbie Jones burial place. He was such an avid golfer. I was definitely a Kenny Rogers' fan. His own songwriting, songs and those he did with others were always high on my list. I still miss him. 😢 Thank you for bringing us this true and from what I read, sad story of Margaret Mitchell.
I definitely didn’t realize that his grave was in such a historic cemetery. I’ve been wanting to get to this one for my channel. My favorite Kenny song is “The Gambler”. Thanks for another wonderful cemetery visit.
😢 Blessings to you Steve. The memories of Kenny Rogers are buried in my heart. I got to see him the year he retired. I was heartbroken when he passed. I too was raised with his music. 😊
I used to drive by that cemetary every day going to work. I always wanted to visit, always said I would, but I have not, and now I never get out. Your video is wonderful!
Hi Steve, Every time when peoples talk about Kenny Rogers its always remind me of his great Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurants.Founded in 1991by him also his great country music.
Oakland Cemetery is probably my favorite! It’s beautiful! And this time of year the flowers are starting to bloom and fill the cemetery with color. Welcome to Atlanta, Steve.
One of my earliest musical memories is listening to Kenny Rogers' Greatest Hits on vinyl, sometime in the early '80s . The record belonged to my mom and I still have it. I particularly loved "The Gambler" and "Coward of the County". Those songs told stories about the Wild West, and his smooth voice was like glass. Very little if any "twang", which country artists would later use. It was sad to hear he succumbed to COVID, but he had a great, long career.
Hi Steve. I’ve been a longtime fan of your videos. As someone who cannot travel, I enjoy you showing these gravesites on site. Kenny Rogers was a fine singer, and the Gambler remains one of the best country songs of all time.
The cemetery is awesome. And Kenny Roger's crypt as fitting as expected. What is there to not like about him. He was so unique and was great at what he did. Gambler was a top song for me. And Lucille. ❤
As a kindergartner in the 1980's, during nap time all our teacher would play was Kenny Rogers songs. So that was my first introduction to his outstanding artistry :)
I like a few of his songs. My favorite would have to be “love will turn you around”.💁🏻♀️ Gone with the wind is a classic. Glad to see people are still remembering that golf player even though he’s been gone for over 50 years.
Love seeing your road trip footage Steve 💜 As for Kenny - my earliest “music” memories are listening to Kenny, Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Pride and such on 8 track in my Dad’s 68 mustang 🙏🏻
Great video, didn't realise Kenny Rogers was buried in Atlanta. As for Gone With the Wind, TCM still airs it several times a year, but with a disclaimer at the start warning of certain historical depictions that might be offensive to some. I'm glad they still show it, it deserves to be seen for the masterpiece of film-making that it is, and to give new generations a chance to see it and discuss its significance and its problems. And Hattie McDaniel's performance should never, EVER be forgotten!
My favourite Kenny Rogers song is the gambler, it's a England soccer fav ⚽ 🏴🏴🦁🦁🦁 As well mine ,he was such a legend loved his great voice 🇺🇲🇺🇲🎶🎵🎤 5:09
Its me steve discokitty you have my name now I loved when he was with the first edition . I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in. 🎶🎵🎼💿🎸 Beautiful graveside r.i.p. Kenny ❤
My mom was a nurse in Texas for years and took care of Kenny Roger’s brother at one point. She told me it was a sad story as Kenny and the rest of the family abandoned him. My mom herself passed away back in January at 88.
Thank you Steve! Love your cemetery visits .🪦💐 Don’t think anyone I’ve seen on TH-cam has visited Kenny Rodgers Final resting place . Great !! & the others . 😇😇😇🌹🌹🌹🪦🪦🪦😍
Hi Steve Thanks Loved Kenny Roger's. Was sad when I heard he'd passed. I listened often to his songs. The Gambler was one of my favorite. Margaret Mitchell was sadly hit by a car while crossing a road in 1949. You keep well ❤
Hey Steve, Two facts for your fans: Margaret Mitchell's original book draft was about 2000 typed pages. The editor loved it but told her to cut it down in size. So it became around half it's original size. Second, MM died when hit by an auto, while crossing an Atlanta street. Thanks for your work.
Hi Steve, enjoyed the video. Keep me in your prayers. I’m going to battle with cancer now and I need all the prayers I can get to Jim. God bless you, Karen.
Thanks, Steve. That was a fun visit. I especially liked visiting Bobby Jones… a true golf legend. Some of his instructional videos are available here on TH-cam. Well worth watching!
Hi Steve thank you for sharing the videos. I especially enjoy the trips to the cemetery. As a child when we would visit the graves of my grandparents I would go all over that place just looking at the names and dates on the graves. It fascinated me.
Scott on tape didn’t say it was not too far from the entrance but the sign does help for people looking for him. I also saw on the same site you use too that Evel Knievel’s grave in Butte, Montana has signs pointing to his grave too. If you happen to go to Lubbock, Texas to go to Buddy Holly’s grave at the public cemetery there, you would have an easier time finding Mac Davis’ grave as he has a large tombstone there and a couple of marble benches there too. Mac was a singer, song writer, and even actor who was in the 70’s movie “North Dallas Forty” with Nick Nolte.
My favorite Kenny Rodgers song is his duet with Dolly, Islands in the Stream. It is truly hard to choose just one. I read Gone With The Wind long before I saw the movie. You are right that it certainly isn't a movie that most are comfortable with but it is from another time...
Thank you for visiting Oakland Cemetery and Atlanta. Margaret (Peggy) Mitchell was hit by a car as she and her husband crossed Peachtree Street on their way to see a movie. She died five days later.
Good Morning Steve! Margaret Mitchell's husband John Marsh was from my hometown area Maysville, Ky. Where Rosemary Clooney was also born..Hope you and Jim have a great weekend!
Hey Steve, my first time commenting. Love the Channel, great videos. I'm also Subscribed to Faces of the Forgotten(Ron), ScottOnTape and Arthur Dark(Hollywood Graveyard). My favorite Kenny Rogers song is The Gambler, keep up the great content

That cemetery was so gorgeous
Yes, it’s one of the prettiest cemeteries I’ve ever visited. 👍
