HAHAHHA loved that bit when you started talking in Singlish! Feels good to know that I’m not the only one who switches between an American and Singlish/Manglish accent when talking to different types of people. Love your videos Chloe! 🥰
Hey this was so good! Really enjoyed it. Could you please teach us the basics of game theory especially for Oxford interview prep? I'm trying to learn it and freaking out!!!
hey chloe! could you someday also make a video about your minor in data science and why you chose it + your expectations from that field? I am an econ major looking to learn more about data science as it seems pretty interesting. do you recommend any particular courses from edX or coursera that helped you?

How are research opportunities at uchicago? Do you think uchicago produces a lot of future professors (as someone once told me and I'd like to become one)? What can you tell me about international house? Btw I love your videos!!
The research opportunities are great!! I heard amazing things about it -- we also have like 100 nobel laureates as alumni and professors! I think in total there are more research opportunities than students to fill them :) -- International house (aka I-house) is known for their tight community, though it is a bit of a walk from main campus! But my friends there love I-house and they also have exclusive dances in house :)
Hey Chloe! Thanks for dishing out all that info(and don't worry, at the very least I thought the video was entertaining) Now I do have a pretty specific question So I know that UChicago does not require me to send in my gpa (but they do consider it of course), so considering that my gpa is a 3.6(on a 4.0 scale) with 11 AP's and 6 honors courses, as well as a 1560 on the SAT and a pretty much guaranteed National Merit finalist also given that I'm probably going to apply ED II (I guess that means assume my gpa is like a 3.75). Do you think I should send my gpa or should I just hold off on that? (I know all of that information was a mess, but I don't think I can clean it up)
I think send it in! the "lower" gpa is alright because you take a lot of APs and honour courses so that is accounted for -- but of course try to get your gpa as high as possible!! your profile is amazing and your hard stats are good to go, so don't worry too much!
I am considering applying to CS and Philosophy at Oxford. Will my MUN experience help me in Philosophy and should I mention it in UCAS essay? If my school doesn't offer CS and Philosophy, which books should I read? Should I just drop Philosophy?
Hey there chloe, since many schools have made SAT test-optional, would it be a disadvantage if an international application does not take it? Currently taking A-Levels.
I always think that if you can fill out your application more, do it! Spend the time to take the SAT if you feel that your grades aren't as strong, and you'd like to showcase more of your academic ability -- it's always better to have a more rounded out profile than one with info lacking -- that being said, it's not necessary anymore to be more inclusive to those who can't afford it or those in extenuating circumstances; but that doesn't mean that if you can and want to do it you shouldn't! If you are able, I always recommend doing standardised testing :)
this is a questions that warrants a looooooong answer (too long to write haha) but the short answer is yes. on average at uchicago. lots of pre-med students pride themselves on taking difficult/medium difficulty classes that aren't related to their major (like core classes) to avoid being seen as a "cop out", which results in overall gpa being high still, but only because these students work really hard for it! The quality of education is definitely higher (imo) but it's very competitive and hence the difficulty! Some departments have grade deflation and are more candid about it (eg Econ and Stats) -- while others do not practice it at all (most), while some vary by class and by professor!! Hope this helps :)
@@asynchloe thanks for the tips! I'm Malaysian and currently struggling to get off my accent too. Can I know how long does it take for you to practice it?
Enjoy the video :)
