- In our last video, we showed you how we found an old El Camino with a locked-up engine sitting outside for years. Now, we're back with some exciting updates!
Join us in this video as we take on the next steps in the restoration process. First things first, we replace the gunked-up carbs and give the engine a much-needed oil change. We'll show you step-by-step how to do it, so you can follow along if you're working on a similar project.
But that's not all! After we get the engine running again, we take the El Camino for a spin and show you what it's capable of. That's right, we'll be doing some awesome skids that will leave you on the edge of your seat!
So buckle up and join us as we bring this old classic back to life. Whether you're a fan of vintage cars, love the thrill of a good restoration project, or just want to see some cool skids, this video is for you. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more exciting content like this. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you in the next one!

This El Camino 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🌹🇲🇽🇲🇽🌹🌹 Will Let it Stay Running,
Awesome car! Double check for a plugged vent tube on top of the transmission.
Cheers mate will do
Thanks for the video I'm am getting my 1986 elcamino worked on with the new motor now I can't wait
Hey Cody, man that sounds so tough!!
In your case a quart is 946.4mls, that’s a “US liquid quart” which is what GM would use for specifying engine fluids. To complicate things there’s also “imperial quarts” which is 1136.5mls. Would t it be nice if everyone used metric!! Ha ha.
Top work legend 🤙🏻
So roughly 1 litre metric, thanks for the info mate 👌
YESSS!!! I love the feeling when you get something working after putting a huge effort into it and making it work again, well done.
I just love the barnfind look to it! I would love to drive this around town feeling like I am back in the 80’s or something through Queensland. Never sell this thing dude it’s just to cool!
Paint it Matte Black when you're done. 😎👍
Sweet find, and once it’s back on the road turning heads, we’ll worth the effort 👍
She is looking crispy dudes !!!! Sounds a little tight, might want to check the timing chain, i had a 5.7 ltr 350 sounded exactly the same ,and the double roller was going out in it. Can't wait for a sick full rip with it let's go Cody!!!!!!
Cheers, boys. Good series.

I came across your channel this morning and watched your El Camino videos, I always thought it was cool that the front clip on an El-Co is the same as a Chevelle. Very cool find!! Can't wait for the next video on this car, Watching from Nebraska, U.S.A. Keep up the great work buddy!!
Happy Sunday!
Cheers mate. Unfortunately it’s a Monday for me

Yes!! Missed the upload but hell yeah. Sounds tough as nails 💪
So let me tell you that I think this car is one of the greatest looking and coolest units ever made!! This year is perfect as well and as a Canuck if you guys didn't have the accent (or we didn't depending on your perspective LOL) then this could easily be a Canadian car and a couple of Chinadian.... Oops I mean Canadian guys working on this great unit! ROCK ON GENTLEMEN!!
What a weapon mate
well i went though the same thing except the engine had 2 blown head gaskets it needed everything took me 2 years and untold amount of money to get where it is now even learned how to paint keep down some of the costs it is absolutely beautiful now it was worth the headache won 2nd place at a good guys show best in show. Loving your vids bro. Good luck for your channel 👍
You should call that car the freedom mullet!!😎🇺🇸💗👍
You did it lol happy hot roddin Bro
Sweet
Nice car hope you have good luck with it!!!
I’m just living vicariously through your excitement. That’s really all I need to get me through the day 😂 edit: I’m a United States viewer and to be completely honest, I’ve never heard of Speckled Tail Whiskey either. However! I do have some favorites, if you ever want to try some I can send some to you so you can try some proper American whiskey!
100% definitely won’t say no. I’m not sure about customs and booze tho
That car totally puts the fast and furious charger to shame!!😎👍💗
good video mates
That's gold dude you are all over it like a head on a beer
I run the Penrite HPR 30 in my 327 Chev. It's rated at 20W60 and has the extra zinc included.5 litre jug. Cheers Dave.
Good to know! Thanks mate
Just found your channel from America, loving the el co videos! You should keep it 😅
i normarlly watch vids is 720p but i watched this one in 1440p cuz i just had to see all the small parts in this beautiful el camino p.s. i guess im not the only one that when there excited about cars they imitate engine noises also i have a 1980 elcamino that im gonna fully rebuild and refurbish
that sounds so good love it.👍👍
It does!
Wow! Ozzy gallon 4.5 and US gallon 3.5ish is correct!
It's not a mechanic shop until somebody is working on cars in Crocs or flipflops y'all nailed both lol
I traded a ford ranger for a 74 el camino around the time of the first video its been awesome to watch the videos as I'm going along with the same issues keep up the great work!!
Right on! What a ride aye
@@sickpuppycody nothing like it
YESSSS!!! 🤘

I was devastated when I saw the og sick puppy page was finished, just found this page and I'm happy as a pig in shit now 👍💯
Legend mate I’m still hanging in there
I'm like number 1000 🔥🔥🔥
Your a legend mate !
Mate that’s got a mint note to her 👌🏼
Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦, congratulations on your ladies taking the cricket world cup 👍🏻. I always thought the Ausie boys were either ford or Holden fans. Glad to see a Chevy in the mix there. Great video 🤙🏻
That this has got to go to Summernats!
You got me ghed up when it first fired up. Had to crack a celebration beer as well !😂 Good onya man love the videos ! Also cool find with that bottle of whisky that and the conny's really add character the the ol girl haha
Awesome video there should be a breather at the top of gearbox probably blocked that's why she push dipstick up had similar issues with c4
Nearly ready to hit the strand for some lappys with JIGSAW lad!!
You could use a diesel oil as that has more zinc in it, cant recommend a brand as I'm in the UK. Great job on getting it freed up and running. It's awesome.
I forgot your alls steering wheel is on the wrong side when he said I need to mount the master cylinder. Cool to see big block mopar power over there.
I'd try to figure out my bore/stroke and compression then see if you have too much carb on there. if you run 2 four bbls you will probably need to use smaller jets unless they were fitted for a two-four bbl setup.
She's got good bones mate, saves a truck load 👍👍
Few gold nuggets is a bonus, a lobster is next level but a bottle of whiskey is unheard of 😂
Something else that I would suggest you putting in that motor or any other old motor like that or some Lucas that stuff is one of the best if you can get it God bless you and your family God bless the world it’s all just get along PS I love your channel it’s great
why have you not got a mil subscribers at least with these type of videos?
Hey im in melb. I have a 72 ss el camino project car. Good luck with yours. SUMMIT RACING is your friend. Cheers Nathan
Thanks mate!
Great video brother crazy to see a left hand drive car in Australia. I just sold my 06 GTO which is the same as the Holden Vauxhall menaro
I was always told to run conventional 20w50 in those old things if it’s summer.
it's alive.peww peww
A little known tip for adding the zinc or any additive is to add it in the oil container an mix it together, it makes it easier to get in the motor.
Great point! Thanks
Wish I had one
Dual carbs and a highrise intake but no cam humm
I can't wait till you get the timing set correctly, and then a proper tune up.
Awesome mate. I Just subcribe to youre Channel. I am from holland and i have also a 70 el camino. Love youre video's. Keep up the good work.👍
Camino bros! Welcome brother
I found this channel somehow, i live in the rural southern USA. That whiskey you found almost looks like its supposed to be a knockoff of Jack Daniels or something, I've never heard of that brand. Im stoked to see what youll do with this thing. My grandpa had an El Camino when i was a kid, it wasnt a V8 tho. Pretty neat cars !
Man I know the El Camino still needs some work but dude she sounds GOOD!!!
El caminos are bad ass. I'd take them risers off and put some 327 double hump heads with the eldebrock intake. With only 1, lol,, 750 holley carb. That's just me.
Found your channel through Junkyard Digs channel and I'm loving it. If you're ever in Iowa or Kevin is ever is Australia, I hope you guys team up for some revivals. BTW, that big coin is a Quarter (25 cents).
Really cool to see you working on that El Camino never heard of that kind of whiskey here in Texas how I found your Channel you animate of yours is working on a race car that's just his name get the Commodore running then race it around a go-kart track I believe it is
that's a Susan B Anthony limited edition dollar works at the post office and slot machines 👌 😀
That whiskey is so American😂
Rotella t 4 desiel oil. Its got the minerals.
Sick!!!!! Let us know how the whiskey went it was probably pretty well aged
Check the vent tube on the transmission. If it is plugged up it will spit transmission fluid out
Ik that whiskey is good for sure
It’s aged to perfection lol
I am from Canada and have also never heard of speckled tail whiskey. How was it anyway? Keep up the great work on that sweet car.
So the first coin you guys found is a us quarter which is 25¢ and then the second coin is a nickel which is 5£. Also I build small block chevys so if you have any questions or anything feel free to reach out!
I just seen a 70 El Camino go up for sale at a car dealership here in the US for like 34,000
Lot of stuff I didn't know I learned on TH-cam and Google search
Speckled tail is made in Florida USA.
It's kinda on par with Jack Daniels. From the few times I've had it.
Actually sounds nice then
It’s a party machine!😂😂😂
😂
What an awesome car, I'm loving the videos of this car. I hope you get it on the road one day. But big question, what happened to the Jeep Wrangler?
Cheers brother yea Sold it mate
Hey Cody I have a wb with a 202 in it I know yours is a 350 but I use 25w 60 Penrite Full Zinc oil and it loves it just thought that 10w 30 might be too thin?
Yea mate you are correct. I had another bloke suggest the same oil so that’s what I’ll get on the next run
speckled tail is made in florida. Maybe the car is from florida considering its pretty rust free. It isn't from the snowy states thats for sure.
Once you've been bitten by a meaty El Camino V8 nothing will ever feel the same to your senses and you continuously find yourself waking up in the garage sleeping on top of the very thing that haunts your every moment....mad American ute 😎🦅👌👍
Seems like the Rings might be sticking because it seems like it has a lot of blow by
Hey you need to check starter she sounds a little on the grinding side
It’s definitely on the list
Hi tork starter
That’s a cool rig ! Did you fix the sump with that screw that was in there mate?
Usually I like to let mine idle about 750rpm so you can hear that cam lope nothin sounds better than a v8 with a monster cam and a 871 blower, but anyway that elcamino sounds good
That dollar may be silver
Re the whiskey: does it have a barcode? If not, the bottle has been there since the 80's or earlier.
