Is it good for sequencing trance synths like a JP-8000?

I've got 3 of these (mk2). Love it. Like the Perfourmer in a smaller footprint but still plenty of encoders and killer sequencer. Fantastic dawless, else overbridge. I use them as drum machines too, does things the Rytm can't, though Rytm can do things it can't. I've got a Mk1 A4 too, doesn't sound much different, the MK2 is just a nicer experience overall IMO.

Great video. I have the mk1. I try not to uses presets, but there are many good ones on board, especially for bass and fx in lots of styles.

I found that I cant setup effects if I use outs for every 4 tracks to connect to my mixer
Is it possible that something wrong with my setup in analog four?
Cause looks like the effects works only when using the main outs

If you dig deep into the original A4 videos and demos on elektrons channel you'll find a wealth of awesome techniques that they dont highlight in the manual. Awesome piece of kit but I feel its a bit like the octatrack in that if you dont use it for awhile you tend to forget its tricks. Best tip I can share is to document everything :-)
The deepest darkest sounds I achieved were achieved were via the use of the envelope and overdrive circuits. The best trick for arps/melodies when performing is extensive use of keylock!

First, love your music. How are you finding this compared with the Perfourmer? I had the A4 but sold it as I always found the sound too thin and VST-like (I’m a reasonable synthesist, have Eurorack etc.). Have a Perfourmer arriving today…
soundwise the performer is easier to work with out of the box. But the A4 get in the same territories if you spend some time with it.

Does your A4 go through your mixing desk which helps to shape the sound? It sounds sharper and clearer than most of the videos I saw.

I with you mate, I can jam and come up with all sorts of great shit on the boxes themselves; I get into a DAW and it’s like damn. Too many options and such a learning curve. Anything I’ve produced in a DAW has to be labeled very experimental since it’s a mess lol

I just can't get why Analog Four can't do note retrigs while Rytm can?
It's already limited to the subtractive synthesis. I've thought that it will be sequencing _at least_ on the same level as Rytm which can play samples.
I feel "not fair" that it has this difference which seems like intentionally created.
IDK if they check the forum in the Requests brunch on A4 but many artists already asked for any of the solutions to achieve "ratchets" or "retrigs". Plocks for the Arp section would be a good thing.
If they care about the "marketing" thing then why they (seems) to don't care about the reputation? I mean that this niche of a versatile sequencer and a groovebox in one piece will not be forever.

I like to play A4 with split 4 channel and processing w/ableton. it’s very clear. The oscillator very good. the real analog power.
