Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.8 in C minor "Pathetique" Analysis - Get the rest of this course here! www.mmcourses.co.uk/p/beethoven-piano-sonata-no8-c-minor-pathetique-music-analysis-course
Hi, Gareth once again, I will be applying do to a degree in Composition late this year, on the audition requirements on the website it says round 2 of the audition "A viva voce in music analysis (30 minutes’ preparation time)" what exactly is this? Is this analysing a score? how do we do it? What do they want us to speak about? What do we look out for when analysing a score? etc etc Please can you do a in depth course on how to analyse scores. I will be the first to buy it. I am not sure what exactly we should be looking for when analysing or what should we speak about, do we mention the Key, what form we can see it is in etc etc? I am a bit lost so please if you can do a course on "A viva voce in music analysis" that would be really helpful for many people, thanks.
+Victor Jones Hi. Great to hear about your plans. We could easily run a course on the topic but it probably won't be out in time for you. Would you like a Skype lesson to get you started? You can book it on the website.
Hi Gareth, so far I have purchased the Music Theory grades 1-8, Composition & Orchestration (Strings). I was not sure if this Beethoven course would cover what I need to learn for my audition, I checked out your 1 hour Skype session, it is something I can not afford at the moment, because I would need it weekly, where if I bought your course video I could watch it over and over again at a lower price. The auditions takes place from November 2017 - January 2018, I reckon I would need at least 6 months practice at music analysing before then, so that would mean I would need lessons on this subject the very latest May 2017, I know you are quite busy with teaching, making new videos etc, so I am not sure if you would be able to make a course video by then, I really wish I could afford weekly Skype classes with you but it is out of my range at the moment I am afraid.
+Victor Jones Ok. Let's see if we can fit in an analysis course in time for you. Meanwhile, the Beethoven course is highly relevant because it's harmonic analysis that's causes the greatest challenge.
That’s the 3rd movement. It begins GCDEb in C minor. You could easily find it on the internet and we have a full analysis of the Sonata, including the Rondo at www.mmcourses.co.uk
Hi Gareth and team: I’m looking for the complete tutorial on Beethoven’s pathetique I just see the introduction I am a music maestro three if that helps Thanks, David
In this case it’s consonant. See www.mmcourses.co.uk for our 24 courses, for information on joining our special Music Matters Maestros group, and for one to one teaching.
Hi gareth. Im ACTUALLY crying cause i cant buy this course. Im not a student but i have printed this piece and i love you as a teacher and a human being. I live in a dictatorship and we are banned from any foreign country and even if i find a way, 37 dollars would be like my 2 month salary. I wish you could upload this for free. But thanks anyways for the free videos. I learned and am learning a lot from you... love. Mehrshad from tehran
I just spent 3 hours in youtube watching every single explanation available of this sonata. And i now am more certain that how you will explain it is probably the best review out there. Probably the best one which has ever been said. Can you please please please publish this one for free. I swear on beethoven's name that i will pay you back someday. I never wanted something this bad since i was 8 and crying for an icecream. A childish thirst. My email is mehrshad8868@gmail.com . ill be checking this page every hour to read your reply. But if you didnt want to answer here you can also email me. Thank you gareth.
Hi again! Sorry to bother but im helpless. All the other versions of reviewing this piece are very low quality and incomplete. Im like a child hoping to get the toy i wanted for christmas! Even though its highly unlikely..
We’re really sorry to hear of your particular difficulties. Obviously we charge for online courses in order to cover our costs and so that we can produce a vast number of free videos on TH-cam. We hear from many people around the world who live in challenging circumstances and we’re so pleased that everyone can access our free material on TH-cam regardless of circumstances.

Have you downloaded the rest of the Beethoven films? They would help you a lot.
+Victor Jones
Let me know if an individual Skype lesson would help.
