Just found this one, good shooting and good fun. Really enjoy your high quality and very informative videos. Too old and creaky for competition but enjoy building up my rifle to shoot as well as I can and I get a lot of help from you and some of the others.
I did learn something either the cold made the wax extremely hard on the Eley ammo or it was just that cold where the chamber was constricting, single feeding the Winchester those rounds were barely going in there. I thought it would have to be a lot colder for that to happen.
My understanding is the lube is the primary difference with the biathlon ammo, that the powder charge isn't any different, and for the reason you just described.
Nice video guys. Matt, I asked this same question to Elijah: Have you ever had Eley Tenex shoot well. I have never seen a video where it was all that great. Eley Match or Team seems to be the sweet spot. Although I think the Vudoos are chambered for Lapua Center X, which might explain some of it.

In cold weather shooting, and especially in winter, the benefits of shooting Biathlon ammo can not be overlooked. Lubes made for those conditions that don't get all gummy or heavy with wax, Priming compounds and amounts that literally guarantee ignition, and literally thousands of dedicated shooters across the globe sampling it and reporting of the results annually. Seriously, there's several manufacturers of quality Biathlon ammo, like Lapua, ELEY, and Fiocchi that make really good stuff for winter, the same as they make stuff for summer or indoors. Try a brick or 2 and see.
Matt, what barrel is that in your Vudoo? I think Eli is shooting 1/14 twist rate Douglas on his Rim X. I know that gun can shoot. I think Day at The Range must be in the Bermuda Triangle for the way that wind was swirling. Today was an impressive day for the Vudoo. Any chance you guys could do a virtual side by side to point out differences in the two actions? I've never even held a rim X to know what to look for.
My Vudoo has the standard Ace barrel 1:16 twist. The RimX action is nice, hard to describe but it does feel different to a vudoo. I tested one for a few weeks and actually quite enjoyed it, the magazines are very well done.
Shooting from bench and rifle rest, let see you to do a challenge off hand. Also with your custom rifle you should be able to shoot the Bullseye out of the target.
It's not the rifle that doesn't like the cold, it's the lube. You need to use something that is temperature stable: lots of even light oils will turn to grease at temperatures even above zero.
@@John-uo1qf Pick your poison. If your barrel is threaded, EC Tuner or ATS. If it is not threaded then Harrell’s is your other option. The shooters in Canada seem to use the Redd Nobb Tuna Can tuner.
Dude, are you serious? I just bought stuff from them. Never even thought of them having vudoo barreled actions. Then i would just need a MDT Acc chassis. I actually really like my order and will just wait. Its going to be amazing.
@@briansupermag3918 You will love your Vudoo. I put mine together last fall. It's on an MPA BA chassis, a little shorter than the MDT ACC. I've tried different optics on mine from ATACR 7X to Razor Gen 2 but now am using a NF NX8 4-32 and loving it for NRL22. It's 9 ounces lighter than the big boys but has the close parallax and a lot of elevation, great glass and turrets. My scope base is 30moa plus a 20moa mount I can dial to 500 yards. I also just discovered the American Rifle Company M-Brace Mount, about $100 less than Spuhr and much easier to mount. Enjoy!

There are very few guys in my area who shoot Tenex. It’s just not a good value compared to other stuff on the market.
