Having owned 4 different RVs this is what I’ve learned over many years. One thing you didn’t address is your shoes. Your shoes come in contact with contaminated surfaces. You might want to consider a dedicated set of footwear to be used only at dump stations (or buy shoe covers) and then store them in a a dedicated container. Disposable gloves are a much safer clean solution also. Also need to make sure your sewer hose is secured to the dump area either by holding it in or putting a weight (like a large plastic bag full of sand. The force of the water emptying can pop the hose out which creates a real mess. I really don’t like black water tanks. Cassette toilets seem like a better solution. Most small RVs are now being offered with cassette toilets which can be emptied in any toilet or outhouse. Hopefully that will be the future. AND you can carry a separate back up cassette tank to double your capacity while boondocking.
Hi! Your videos are totally awesome and helpful. I'm going to get some hand sanitizer to keep in the alto garage and some big utility gloves. Our camper is in the house garage right now but I'm looking forward to springtime when we can get out again. Hope to see you on the road. Happy camping.
Thank you! We haven’t but I’m going to look into that. Thanks! Last year we did a “rinse and repeat” of the tanks with a cleaning solution. A little solution, some water, and look for a rough road 😂
Very helpful, thanks, Just curious: why wouldn’t all dump stations have separate gray & blank tanks/holes, to mirror the separation of each from “contributing” RVs? Or why wouldn’t RVs just have one big black tank? Guess I just figured that separating gray & black water would persist after they leave the RV. 🤔
If the tanks are combined and it backs up you would possibly have sewage in you sink or shower. I think it would also be more prone to unpleasant smells. Thanks for watching!
Feeling less anxious, thank you.
You are welcome!
Always teach your little woman how to empty the tanks it will make her feel needed and important. ❤
😂

Happy to help! So exciting!!
Excellent hands-on how-to! Do you ever rinse your tanks using warm water to loosen any stubborn debris after you initial drop?
