How much does the dealer charge for an oil change? What type of oil are they using? I usually do all my own maintenance but like you I have a dealer nearby that offers lifetime warranty if they service the vehicle so I’m curious.
Wow! Lifetime warranty! That’s a great insensitive to bring your truck in! My wife’s 2021 2.7 custom had the first year oil change covered by the company. When I set up the 1st oil change after the 12 Months they quoted me $182 (including oil, filter , necessary fluids & tire rotation) I asked if I did the oil myself will my factory warranty still be covered, they said “ as long as I keep records and receipts “ and here I am watching this video. Did you have to pay extra for lifetime warranty? Or just need to have them service it?
Whenever you can it's just extra protection to pre-fill the oil filter. When you start the engine with the filter empty the oil pump has to first fill the filter before you build oil pressure.

Yeah, that’s the first thing I noticed. The whole oil pan is plastic. At some point a person is going to snap the plug, the plastic will become too brittle, or something hits it just hard enough to crack it.
Hi, I have 2021 chevy silverado 2.7 turbo, I live in canada, and it’s winter now here, Just wondering if you have a block heater on your truck, cause mine doesn’t have plug or I can’t find it. If you have please can you make a video of it thankyou

No longer have it but when i did for the year in a half I owned it, it had a check engine light for one of the sensors going bad for emissions but the dealership replaced it at no cost and only took like 10 min for them to do. Thats about the only issue I had (oh and they had to update the software for the transmission)
In my experience from Hyundai, Toyota, Volkswagen, Mazda and no doubt others, the Dipstick level has been under the mark and even over the mark. When I've done an oil change on a new to me vehicle, with the exact amount of oil, and has been sitting on a level surface for awhile, I've put my own punch mark on the dipstick.
@@awsmbug I hear ya. I have a 71 Riviera with a 455 Buick motor and it reads full with 4 quarts in it. Everyone told me the pan should hold 5. So I put 5 in and made another mark about 5/8th above the original full line. I didn't see any bubbles on the stick after driving (from the crank hitting the oil) so I kept doing it and its been 20 years and 50,000 miles and no problems. Of course those old cars were notorious for poor fit to specifications. I would never imagine a modern car would be that far off. Still I'm curious how much you can over fill them. I think they probably have 1/4 to 1/2 quart leeway. But I like to be on the line.

Those AC Delco filters are the exact same filters as the Wal Mart Super Tec oil filters. They are both made by Champ Labs. Another way to save money!
