It's quite hilarious that mihawk has seen whitebeard tilted the ocean, blackbeard using two devil fruit, shanks stopping a war ,luffy challenging the 3 Admerial, roger is ace's father, dragon is luffy's father and zoro defeating some monke surprise him the most
That’s not true, he was surprised because he thought that zoro couldn’t get off the island. But instead by telling Mihawk that he beat them and asking for help mihawk realized he swallowed his pride.

But because, one: Zoro got his ass kicked, and two this man is now bowing to his feet begging to be trained.
Zoro shocks mihawk eith his power (English Sub)
Mihawks bounty is absolutely yonkou tier. I can see why only shanks was a match for him. The marines sent a small army to his island to arrest him and failed. Yet Zoro wasting the baboons got a reaction out of him lol
it wasnt necessarily that he beat the baboons, rather that he swallowed his pride to become a stronger swordsman. mihawk thought zoro was asking for help to defeat the baboons hence get off the island, but he was actually asking to get stronger for his crews sake, which mihawk found surprising and admirable
