One of the greatest bands of all time. Notice Ronnie is barefoot, he always performed wearing no shoes! God bless them, what a band they were! Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, his sister Cassie Gaines, who was one of Lynyrd Skynyrd's backup singers, collectively known as "The Honkettes," and asst. road manager Dean Kilpatrick, along with the 2 pilots, all died tragically in the plane crash. This band was very talented, and their albums did not have any throw-away songs or fillers, every song you heard by them was great! R.I.P. to rock legends. 😢
That was Gary Rossington on the guitar solo
GREAT BAND.GREAT REACTION.
This concert was in England. Opening for the Stones.
My favorite band. Watching now.
love they crushed the stones who were coming on after.
Gary Rossington on first guitar solo. Steve Gaines, guitarist in the blue, Allen Collins guitarist in red. Artimus Pyle on drums, he replaced Bob Burns. Billy Powell on piano. Leon Wilkeson on bass and backup vocals. Ronnie was always a cool cat.
That’s Artemis Pile on the drums.
Gary Rossington took the 1st solo in call me the breez
Steve was with the band for the recording of "One more from the road" LS double live recording done from July 7-9 1976. Steves fourth gig with the band. Then August 21-1976 he was playing for 100.000 of thousand. Oct 21 1977 it was all over. Tickets at this show were $4.50
Thanks for dropping some knowledge on us
Gary Rossington was the first solo, and that’s Artimus Plyle on drums. I believe he came in on Nuthin’ Fancy.
Been a fan since their first album was released and they're still one of my favorite bands.
That's a JJ Cale song, and his version is great, but Skynyrd takes it up a notch. You should check out some JJ Cale if you haven't. He's got a lot of great songs.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Gary Rossington, Allen Collins Steve Gaines guitars. Artimus Pyle drums on here
Billy Powell piano Leon Wilkinson on bass
They outplayed the Rolling Stones in their home country
I'm definitely a fan of L.S. overall.. And as a drummer I'm more influenced by the era when Artimus Pyle was with them..He such a solid but unique style.. Peace from the Northeast..
At the beginning you said Bob burns on the drums it was Artemis pyle on the drums
Wow there was a 1999 version of Woodstock? Really? Didn't know that.
React to t for texas from the same concert. Steve gaines kills it.
Guitarist Steve Gaines replaced original guitarist Ed King and Artimus Pyle replaced original drummer Bob Burns
