Thank you! This unlocked every single thing for me. I kinda was into this stuff already but this is a great system and way of thinking of it

@ O M Glad to hear that this video was helpful. This derivative technique from the Schillinger Special Harmony book allows the application and voice leading control of a string of higher tension, dissonant 4-part chords in 3rds, in diatonic and symmetric harmony.

@DannyMcGirr Thanks. What I also tried to do in this video is to show the relation between various earlier tutorials. If the coherence is unclear, please let me know. Over time I am covering more and more techniques from the Schillinger Special Theory of Harmony. Each has unique characteristics and application.

Frans Absil, your generosity and hardworking ethics are inspiring. Your videos are clear and well put together. I hope people realise, how lucky they are, to have people like you in the world, offering such deep knowledge. Thank you for educating the next generation. What I learn, I pass to my children. You’ve made the once misunderstood system much clearer and your videos make great company, while working through the two books. I love the Schillinger system. I’m sure he would be thankful of people like yourself keeping his legacy alive.

@Axel Rose, Thanks for the kind comments. The Schillinger System of Musical Composition has been such a source of inspiration to me, that I feel the urge to share what little of it I may have understood, and demonstrate the techniques that I think are useful in writing art and functional music. Whether the man himself would have appreciated my tutorials; I am not sure of that. The remarks in his books about the style and skills of some renowned composers occasionally are fairly outspoken and intimidating. However, it is good that my videos and documents are being appreciated by a community of followers and viewers, because indeed they require quite some effort to produce. What elements in the Schillinger System were most valuable to you?

Thank you Mr Frans. Do you teach music composition online?

Since you're referring to this Schillinger Hybrid Harmony tutorial, I assume you would like to learn more about the system. I do accept a limited number of students for online teaching. Please send an email for more information and conditions.
