2022 Defender 90 P400 - has been hunting in Texas, multiple cross country trips, daily commuter - most reliable, trouble-free vehicle I've ever had. Liked it so much I bought a 2024 Carpathian Edition.
The defender design is a game changer, after it’s released all manufacturers went back to their old blue print to dig out some something similar so that throw reference to it avoiding copying the defender. With the recent recalls on Toyota/lexus V6 engine, defender remains front runner and no other manufacturer can copy its imagistic and road presence.
I looked at both and agree with the body style and ride of the Land rover is better but I went with the Lexus GX550 because I don't want to get stranded in the outback of Alaska pulling my Oliver Elite II travel trailer. Utility and practicality much better with the GX550!
LOL there is a new saying for you - If you want to drive into the outback, buy a Land Rover. If you don't want to have a blown main bearing in the outback, stay in the Land Rover HAHA
The reliability says it all! The land Rover will get you there the Lexus will get you back and home. When the Land Rover is in a land fill the Lexus will still be working on and off road!
I'm not aware of any relationship between the set of older bad engines that Toyota will replace and those put in the GX. The Defender is a great design inside and out, and if I intended to pay for a lease forever I'd probably go there. But I'm a buy and hold guy, and I just can't trust RR reliability once the warranty is gone.
@@dioncarey3630 money that will be wasted, a friend of mine had a defender and ended up being a piece of garbage, within 20k miles it ended up having problems, so saying this just proves that this car is just a status symbol smh
Agreed. I drive Land Rover and have owned Landcruisers x 2 and notice the difference, the improvements. In comparison, some say that you "date a Land Rover, but you marry a Land Cruiser." The Overlander mid-level Lexus has 18-inch wheels, no self-levelling for towing, a boring durable interior, quick 3.4L petrol, and a low front 26-degree angle ...hmmm. The car drives and turns fine, brakes, and accelerates confidently when going up and down CBD.
You completely miss reliability, I just got ride of my Landrover for the new 2024 GX. You’ll spend 50% of the time in the shop, once you hit 50k miles. The only thing that’s better from Landrover is the suspension air ride, and the interior is slightly more luxurious with more up front storage. The GX missed the boat on storage with only a center console and small glove box. The GX is still a substantially better car and will cost you way less money overall. My last Landrover had over $25k in repairs in 4 years. If Landrover could just get ride of their plastic cooling systems, fix their turbos, and super chargers, their cars would be the best on the market. But they won’t because they make millions on repairs.

After had test-drive for both defender and GX, just picked up GX today.

After had test-drive for GX and defender, I am so obsessed with GX other than defender because of its exterior.

So...about that Lexus engine...

@@boshiij3449 That engine issue came from assembly, not the design of engine itself.
Informative review. Thank you.

why would you throw in a rear cargo picture of a D90 instead of a D110?

Lexus is just a car. Land Rover is heritage, 4x4 passion and cool style.
And most unteliable carbrand on the market.
@@avdp9095you don't have money to buy defender 😂
