I tried the cc cream and it looked so horrible not to mention it looked so yellow i looked like a Simpson 😂 The camo matte concealer is awful but I do like the hydrating one. It’s not the best thing ever but for the price it’s good.
Same! I got the concealer based on said recommendations, and it looked nice upon first application, but after a few hours and with every day wear, it was awful! It managed to break me out and make my skin dry and flaky at the same time 😬
Yes totally keep a makeup bag at work with blotting papers, powder foundation, a cream blush and a few lip options. Oh and a hair brush and toothbrush! 🤣 never can be too prepared!
I couldn’t disagree more about the elf eyeshadow primer! It works amazing and keeps eyeshadow on my oily hooded lids all day without creasing. Even glitter stays on until I scrub it off at the end of the night. But yea the concealers really suck.
The elf flawless foundation is so good. I’ve been through a whole bottle in like 4 months which is crazy (Note: the bottle is a lot smaller than a traditional foundations). My favorite way to use it is mixed with Asian style sunscreens to make a tinted sunscreen.
For the O face lipsticks, try Dirty Talk. Too light for my medium yellow-olive skin but would be a lovely everyday lip for you! (No Doubt fits me better)

The Woah Glow sunscreen did for sure cause pimples. I stopped using it for awhile and they stopped, thought I’d try again and it broke me out again. I do not have sensitive skin and hardly ever get breakouts.
My favorite blushes by e.l.f are the bite size face duos (I have white peach & lychee) & I was honestly surprised that those weren't in this video. Those little blushes pack a punch in the most beautiful way (so tap off the brush before applying...... Learn from my mistake 😂)
Thank you for doing this! I am a teacher and do my makeup at like 5 am and really need things to last and need little maintenance because who has time to do a ton of touch ups. I don’t keep a little makeup bag but I think I shall start doing that. I am a teacher, and I do keep a total face of makeup! I just started my 33rd year, and I almost always do my makeup at school because my skincare products need to soak in on my drive in.
I really like the finish and coverage of the Elf Flawless Satin foundation, but the scent gives me a headache so I can't use it. And I'm not particularly or overly sensitive to scents in products. There is just something in the fragrance that triggers a headache for me. I really enjoy the Hydrating Camo Concealer (I don't have the same issues that you described to be honest), but the CC Cream is horrible (I did experience the same issues as you). The Primer-Infused powders are excellent. The Elf Lash N Roll mascara is the best mascara Elf has ever made. The Halo Glow Liquid Filter is also so good and I agree that it does have some coverage! I really like the new undereye corrector/brightener. I do have the fair shade which is more pink and it definitely brightens! Now I don't have a ton of discoloration under my eyes so I can't speak to how well it truly correct darkness. Elf doesn't really have a brow product that is the right color for me tbh (anything light enough is too warm on me), but thankfully Wet N Wild does (ash brown) and it's super affordable as well. The Putty Bronzers blend away to nothing on my skin and the putty blushes are patchy af.
I follow you from the time you were teaching and you talked about your make up bag so I fixed one , now I only keep toothpaste, toothbrush and oil absorb tissues . Back to work next Thursday , I’m gonna fix a new one 🎉
Lipstick colors - Dirty Talk is a perfect pale nude shade (not concealer lips) to give dimension and tone down other colors. I like to use standing ovation and then layer dirty talk in the center.
I disagree on the Elf eyeshadow primer. Its not my favourite which is a Nyx one but for the price I think its good. I would also recommend their halo hydration moisturiser in their skincare, lovely gel- cream moisturiser and similar to Clinique moisture surge but £10+ cheaper. Elf CC cream was the first cc cream I had ever tried and I could NOT figure out why people were loving it so much! It looks awful on me! And it looks especially bad in places where there is usually no issue with texture or anything like that. It’s just bad for me.
I don't keep a whole makeup bag at work. I do keep a lipstick powder compact and mascara. One time I went to work and forgot to put on mascara. Never again. Lol
I’m a Disney cast member and I DEFINITELY carry makeup with me to work. Whether I need to touch up because I’m constantly in go mode in this ridiculous Florida weather, or it’s just one of those days where I do some makeup and leave myself the option to add more later depending on how the day goes, I almost never go without at least a lip gloss and some eye pencils😂
If I have a make up bag at work I rarely use it. But I do keep mascara and an eye brow pencil in my car. The brow pencil gets used regularly for touch ups. The mascara is priceless when I somehow forget to put it on 😂
The Elf glossy lip stain gives me a weird tickle/film in my throat that makes me cough. I've tried it multiple times and had the same effect each time so I tossed it. That was a bummer for me bc I did like the shade and the formula is super comfortable!
I agree! I too hate the camo concealers. Everyone raved about them. I tried the original and then the hydrating and still they look so dry! I don't love the powder foundation for the same reason. I continue to try them but i think I've just come to the conclusion i don't like powder foundations at all. I did not feel like the O lipstick were hydrating. They felt super dry to me so that got thrown in a drawer. Again, so many better lipsticks out there.
I enjoy using their eyeshadows, I just would pick up a palette from BH Cosmetics or Colourpop over them any day. I bought one bite sized palette and I use it regularly, wich means I like it better than almost everything I have from Makeup Revolution though. I think the very best from Makeup Revolution eye shadow wise, is better than all Elf Eyeshadows, but they release so many unpigmented, terrible eyeshadow palettes, that it makes it dificult to choose one brand over another eyeshadow wise. The MR good quality Ive gotten is from the small tin packaging fyi.

Love the pink eyeshadow! Usually you wear a bronze eye but I love the pink eye. Looks fantastic! I love Elf and am getting back into the liquid bronzer and contour. I also love the Elf Duo Complexion brush. It’s amazing and I have 3 of them. I do not keep a makeup bag at my work although I should. We work 12 hour shifts and I probably need to powder during the day. May be frowned upon bro work at a county jail!
I love their blush, I have the more peachy shade and it's been my favorite for a while. It beats out all the others and has survived a few makeup cleanouts. It's a little sheer but buildable which is only a plus for me. I do have their bronzer too but I'm not in the habit of using it.

My favorite 2 "everyday" lipsticks come from Maybelline - they are in the line that's supposed to look good on everyone. They are "Pink for Me" and "Mauve for Me". Both very pretty colors.
I agree about the blushes and bronzers. The pot is way too small that I avoided using them (even with the putty blush brush from them -- it's also too small!). Decluttered them and def don't recommend to anyone. It sucks bc the actual product isn't bad at all!

I have had those blending brushes for years. Literally. And the eye brow pencil is GOAT for me, although I don't do much with my brows but I think that's why I like it it's just so easy with no fuss. And the bronzer in tan lines is amazing. Ive used one up in the past before it's just perfect and I miss it. Along those same lines the blush in Bali is one of my all time favorites. Elf is just amazing! 🎉

Their soap brow is wonderful! I actually use my cover, girl, micro brow spoolie with it and use the lid to press it into my brows because I had the Elf tool, but the brush broke off quite quickly. I use the brow pencil to fill in my brows after anyway. I definitely think I’ve had some amazing products! Of course not everything is fantastic and that’s OK. I have yet to try their mascaras though!

Did you guys know that the green sticky primer and the pink HAVE THE SAME INGREDIENTS and yes the same amount of Niacinamide. yeah the pink was a cash grab for elf.
I had a reaction to LAYERING niacinamide-containing products about 3 years ago. My skin got blotchy, flaky, itchy and tight. It was almost painful. One of the products was the Elf CC Cream. The other two were CeraVe sun block and a serum. I’m just using the serum now abs have no problems. The CC Cream looks heavy on my skin and has unnecessary ingredients.
A makeup bag? Singular? My desk has a bag of foundations/concealers/powders, one loaded with lipsticks and glosses, one with blushes, one with eye shadows, liners, and brow stuff, and one for skin care. And I'm work from home!
Yeah, the Elf concealers are a HARD PASS. I’ve only ever used the ‘hydrating’ one. It’s heavy on the skin and goes into the lines. The CC Cream looks heavy and breaks up in nose and chin. Ugh!!! The little Bite size shadows are good.

Yes, I have a small makeup bag at either got touch ups. Also I love ELF. Their brushes, their brow gel snd pencils, HD glow setting powder, / it’s easier to say what I don’t like- cami cc cream, and blue light setting spray. That’s it. The rest, I love. Including their new blush, highlighter, and contour Wands. The CC cami cream did the same for me. It broke up, it was patchy after s few hours. I threw it away. I couldn’t get it to work even with mixing with moisturizer , primer, or sunscreen. It was a fail for me.
I have a bag at work for touchups for makeup and hair. For makeup, I have lip balm, gloss, blotting sheets, face powder and a powder brush. For hair, I have an extra Wet Brush, hair spray and hair ties. I even have extra bottles of body spray, just in case, lol.
This is a serious question. So I love foundations but a lot of them are too light for summer time color wise. Is there a mixing pigment that could darken foundation?? I have the white pigment for essence but would you use like a black to darken? PLEASE HELP 😂 🙏
The halo glow is one of those products that got hyped up I was wearing it because it was hyped up but then realised that it makes all of my texture stand out even more yes it's a beautiful product I was mixing it with my foundation and it looked great in the house once I was outside it was texture city lol so I do think that they are beautiful just not for me on a day to day basis
I never have/never will do makeup touch ups. I apply in the morning and fading gracefully until I shower before bed is a requirement. Only exception is that I always have a lipgloss on hand.

The matte one is so bad, I couldn't let it sit for even a few seconds because then I could not blend it out at all and it would just break apart.

Whether I need to touch up because I’m constantly in go mode in this ridiculous Florida weather, or it’s just one of those days where I do some makeup and leave myself the option to add more later depending on how the day goes, I almost never go without at least a lip gloss and some eye pencils😂

If I have a make up bag at work I rarely use it. But I do keep mascara and an eye brow pencil in my car. The brow pencil gets used regularly for touch ups. The mascara is priceless when I somehow forget to put it on 😂
The Elf glossy lip stain gives me a weird tickle/film in my throat that makes me cough. I've tried it multiple times and had the same effect each time so I tossed it. That was a bummer for me bc I did like the shade and the formula is super comfortable!

I agree! I too hate the camo concealers. Everyone raved about them. I tried the original and then the hydrating and still they look so dry!
I don't love the powder foundation for the same reason. I continue to try them but i think I've just come to the conclusion i don't like powder foundations at all. I did not feel like the O lipstick were hydrating. They felt super dry to me so that got thrown in a drawer. Again, so many better lipsticks out there.
I hate the hydrating concealer I legit threw it in the bin 😅

Agree. Elf somehow gets a lot right. I feel like other drugstore brands are more hit or miss. I have a lot of high end makeup but reach for elf often.

I enjoy using their eyeshadows, I just would pick up a palette from BH Cosmetics or Colourpop over them any day. I bought one bite sized palette and I use it regularly, wich means I like it better than almost everything I have from Makeup Revolution though. I think the very best from Makeup Revolution eye shadow wise, is better than all Elf Eyeshadows, but they release so many unpigmented, terrible eyeshadow palettes, that it makes it dificult to choose one brand over another eyeshadow wise. The MR good quality Ive gotten is from the small tin packaging fyi.

Love the pink eyeshadow! Usually you wear a bronze eye but I love the pink eye. Looks fantastic! I love Elf and am getting back into the liquid bronzer and contour. I also love the Elf Duo Complexion brush. It’s amazing and I have 3 of them. I do not keep a makeup bag at my work although I should. We work 12 hour shifts and I probably need to powder during the day. May be frowned upon bro work at a county jail!

I love their blush, I have the more peachy shade and it's been my favorite for a while. It beats out all the others and has survived a few makeup cleanouts. It's a little sheer but buildable which is only a plus for me. I do have their bronzer too but I'm not in the habit of using it.

My favorite 2 "everyday" lipsticks come from Maybelline - they are in the line that's supposed to look good on everyone. They are "Pink for Me" and "Mauve for Me". Both very pretty colors.

I agree about the blushes and bronzers. The pot is way too small that I avoided using them (even with the putty blush brush from them -- it's also too small!). Decluttered them and def don't recommend to anyone. It sucks bc the actual product isn't bad at all!

I have had those blending brushes for years. Literally. And the eye brow pencil is GOAT for me, although I don't do much with my brows but I think that's why I like it it's just so easy with no fuss. And the bronzer in tan lines is amazing. Ive used one up in the past before it's just perfect and I miss it. Along those same lines the blush in Bali is one of my all time favorites. Elf is just amazing! 🎉

Their soap brow is wonderful! I actually use my cover, girl, micro brow spoolie with it and use the lid to press it into my brows because I had the Elf tool, but the brush broke off quite quickly. I use the brow pencil to fill in my brows after anyway. I definitely think I’ve had some amazing products! Of course not everything is fantastic and that’s OK. I have yet to try their mascaras though!

Did you guys know that the green sticky primer and the pink HAVE THE SAME INGREDIENTS and yes the same amount of Niacinamide. yeah the pink was a cash grab for elf.
I had a reaction to LAYERING niacinamide-containing products about 3 years ago. My skin got blotchy, flaky, itchy and tight. It was almost painful. One of the products was the Elf CC Cream. The other two were CeraVe sun block and a serum. I’m just using the serum now abs have no problems. The CC Cream looks heavy on my skin and has unnecessary ingredients.
A makeup bag? Singular? My desk has a bag of foundations/concealers/powders, one loaded with lipsticks and glosses, one with blushes, one with eye shadows, liners, and brow stuff, and one for skin care. And I'm work from home!
Yeah, the Elf concealers are a HARD PASS. I’ve only ever used the ‘hydrating’ one. It’s heavy on the skin and goes into the lines. The CC Cream looks heavy and breaks up in nose and chin. Ugh!!! The little Bite size shadows are good.

Could you do a tutorial on the sequence of face makeup? SPF, primer, highlighter, foundation, concealer?? This may sound foundational, but I think the sequence is important. I love your postings/tutorials. I get a “clinical pearl” from every one of them.

Yes, I have a small makeup bag at either got touch ups. Also I love ELF. Their brushes, their brow gel snd pencils, HD glow setting powder, / it’s easier to say what I don’t like- cami cc cream, and blue light setting spray. That’s it. The rest, I love. Including their new blush, highlighter, and contour Wands.
The CC cami cream did the same for me. It broke up, it was patchy after s few hours. I threw it away. I couldn’t get it to work even with mixing with moisturizer , primer, or sunscreen. It was a fail for me.
I have a bag at work for touchups for makeup and hair. For makeup, I have lip balm, gloss, blotting sheets, face powder and a powder brush. For hair, I have an extra Wet Brush, hair spray and hair ties. I even have extra bottles of body spray, just in case, lol.
This is a serious question. So I love foundations but a lot of them are too light for summer time color wise. Is there a mixing pigment that could darken foundation?? I have the white pigment for essence but would you use like a black to darken? PLEASE HELP 😂 🙏
The halo glow is one of those products that got hyped up I was wearing it because it was hyped up but then realised that it makes all of my texture stand out even more yes it's a beautiful product I was mixing it with my foundation and it looked great in the house once I was outside it was texture city lol so I do think that they are beautiful just not for me on a day to day basis
I worked for 33 years and I had mini brushes a $3.00 shadow ELF, a blush, a lip liner, lipsticks and a brow pencil and I used it daily!

I never have/never will do makeup touch ups. I apply in the morning and fading gracefully until I shower before bed is a requirement. Only exception is that I always have a lipgloss on hand.
When I went from home to classes from 8am-2/5pm then nap then back to work at 10/11pm-6/7am, I always had a makeup bag on me. I kind of had to.
