In today's Rivals of Aether 2 guide I want to show you how to do a "Turnaround Special", "B-Reverse" and "Wavebounce" It is very important to follow every single step to master the wavebounce!
something i like about fighting game tech is that, while some of it does objectively improve a character's performance, most of it is just More Options. a fighting game is just very advanced rock paper scissors after all. the more options you have, the more you can keep your opponent guessing, the better youll do. but like you said, if its the only thing you ever do, it loses its purpose. the point of it is to be a mixup
i appreciate the part about not overdoing it, on top of getting predictable it's always good to understand your character's general game plan before going for flashy tech like this (esp for new players) good video i like ty
If a character's move has a built-in momentum change in any way other than up, you probably can't B reverse it. Only notable exception being Maypul with her side-B, where B reverse leads into combos
Yeah, Maypul's side-special B-reverse is a special case, it's a completely different animation, so it isn't used in quite the same way that other B-rev/WBs are.
Great guide and I appreciate you calling out what does and does not work, as I cannot tell the difference very well between the green and red that is used in the video due to colorblindness. So you murdering your lungs did serve a purpose on that!
Nice, thank you for the helpful video! I only knew about turnaround specials before, I'll make sure to try some of the other techs here and see what I can get going :)
Nice vid, for the next stream i think you should try using a keyboard, it'll be a COMPLETELY different experience. If you do, the binds i recommend (and personally use) are: Up: W Down: S Left: A Right: D Jump: Spacebar Attack: J Strong: K Special: L Shield: I Parry: O Overall its really fun once you get used to it. Also a tip: Don't get mad if you cant switch character sometimes, it happens, a lot, a lot lot. + You CAN turn around with fleet side-B, just think like a Zetter when doing so.
I'm gonna be real with you, it is pretty annoying telling somebody else how they should play. You can play with keyboard, but let me play with controller. Stop forcing/asking somebody to use your way or tools of playing
In order to get a turn around neutral special, you can also use the air parry into nspecial in order to get it even faster by using it similarly to side specials. I find it useful when doing things like Kragg sidespecial into his command grab into an outward throw since I often get b-reverses instead.
Nice thanks, I couldn't remember wavebounce inputs and my muscle memory from Ult was using an extra special button I couldn't fit into bindings for this game
If you're having trouble. Your parry button is also your neutral special in air. Regardless of which direction you're holding. The same goes for your grab button and neutral attack.
you can also b-reverse nspecial in the air with the parry button and holding back Wrastor uspecial b-reverse is useful because you can retreat after hitting the sweetspot
Very great guide, all information was useful, well spoken, understandable and concise, and much better than other guides online which are sometimes have some misinformation. Also, for Ranno, does anyone know if these can interact with needle boosting?
If you don't intend to make more videos on this concept, I would recommend coming back to your own comment or description to add changes, like if they add Fleet's B Reverse or, say, more characters... lol
I'm uploading rivals content on both this channel and the secondary channel (Sillintor Vault) The link is in the description. On this channel (Sillintor) I mainly focus on guides, challenges, videos with specific themes On the Sillintor Vault channel I just upload gameplay related stuff, chill content, fast and easy edits Sometimes the line between those 2 can get blurry tho haha
This only applies to side-special, because there is technically no turnaround special. You can already turnaround your character model by doing a side-special, just in the opposite direction. You could say the turnaround special is "in-built" the side-special

Great Tutorial! Very easy to follow and super informative, keep up the good work :D

Great video Sillin! You're a great dude for balancing these so well. :)
Massive appreciation Sillintor~ thank you for your efforts!

Well, I thought it would be a fun idea for a video.
Great video!

If Dan patches Fleet's side-b I'm gonna be angry and happy at the same time
hey are you uploading more rivals content on this channel

Ranno is the one who most benefits with this tech.
turnaround special b-reverse and wavebounce works
How is it possible to have moves where wavebounce works but where turnaround special does not work?
This only applies to side-special, because there is technically no turnaround special. You can already turnaround your character model by doing a side-special, just in the opposite direction. You could say the turnaround special is "in-built" the side-special
Do you think you’ll try playing competitive for this game?
yes :)
Neutral b has the easiest b-reverse but the hardest wavebounce
Side b has the hardest b-reverse but the easiest wavebounce
