I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Endless Ocean Blue World was the first game I was ever really a fan of. My mom played it while my brother and I sat on the couch next to her, terrified of the deep water sections but occasionally stepping in to do dolphin training or museum curating. We read other players' blog posts and looked up tips and tricks online. It was my first experience going for 100% completion on a game too. It took us years to save up the $1 million to reopen the cavern of the gods because we actually needed to save $2 million for an achievement. When we started I had to count on my fingers how many zeroes a million had, and when we finally finished I was brave enough to swim through the Cavern alone. I can't overstate how much that game means to me. The sense of wonder, the exploration, the mysteries, the REAL knowledge of real sea creatures; even after having played hundreds more games this one still stands out. 16 years after we finished the campaign, I had given up hope on ever getting a new entry. @@SpiffyGiraffeCreations There was a person on Miiverse who was really into water. Though I think it was mostly for the effects and whatnot of water on the surface.
The original Endless Ocean was the first video game I ever really loved. I remember when I was really young I couldn’t play without my parents in the room with me because I was so scared something scary would sneak up on me, but it never did. The breathing sounds are totally ingrained in my mind, that hearing them here is almost nostalgic. I almost went to school for marine biology. I can’t say it was because of this series, but a game like this that let me explore the sea and its creatures without holding my hand or needlessly adding things to make it more exciting was a true dream come true to me. I hope that there are young people now who will get to have the same experience I did exploring the ocean on the Wii

This trailer is literally nothing but almost four minutes of fish and honestly? I've so rarely been this hyped for a game... I missed this series so much... 😭✨
I'm happy to see that the updated store page has mentioned that this will have a proper story mode. Not that I believed Arika would abandon it, but maybe it'll finally calm down the naysayers to learn that. Oh, who am I kidding, people still think you're not selling physical copies.
Thank goodness, too. The combination of storytelling and a dive simulator is why this series is so special to its hardcore fans (such as myself). Most would put it off as just a dive sim (which might be why Blue World in particular might not have sold as well), and the ads generally make you think that’s all it is. The fact that the E-Shop is pointing out that it has a story mode might draw many would-be passers, and hopefully prove this series’ value. I haven’t checked the E-Shop page since around the time of the announcement trailer, so some things may have changed, but I do remember noticing the rating was only E rather than the E10+ that Blue World had. So, this story mode might not be as in depth as Blue World’s amazing story. That does also mean that, unfortunately (especially for the Mosasaur shown in the first trailer), there will be no aggressive creatures. Still really excited for this game, though. Blue World is still my favorite game ever and that’s after experiencing Mario 3D World, Mario Galaxy, both Jurassic World Evolution games, various Lego games, Star Wars the Old Republic, and Minecraft. Yes, EO:BW beats all of them, and it’s not even close. No matter how the story is, no matter if it has aggressive creatures or not, I will absolutely love Luminous because I already adore the series. I will keep saying this until it happens, but I hope Luminous does really well so that we don’t just get a 4th game but also ports/remasters of the first 2 games. It’s the series second chance at life, and I hope it thrives.
I read that, too. I'm super glad there's a story mode, but for me the most exciting part is the Veiled Sea area, which is different every dive, as well as the online challenges. This gives me hope for more longevity. Perhaps there could be new maps posted weekly/monthly by Nintendo along with online challenges/leaderboards for finding the most species, or the largest/smallest variations of specific species on that map, etc. The diver rank system also gives me hope for longevity. The first two games were great, but this one looks to be the best of them all. My only concern atm is that there hasn't been any indication of full avatar editing or "out of the water" sections. The customization options that were shown seem to be only changing the color of your dive suit, not the parts of the suit, and not your diver's other features. Still, in a game where I would likely spend 99% of my time underwater looking at fish and coral anyway, those other options aren't a huge deal. I can't wait.
So glad theres a story mode, as without it honestly speaking I would just go tell people to play Abzu or something. Games like this without stories just end up being "experiences"
@beastinator456 Because this game looks huge. This running 30 players online is way more impressive than something like F-Zero 99, which mostly uses 2D sprites.

Those playthroughs are some of their most magical. Welcome to Deep Hole. Beware of aggressive tiger sharks. They are half shark, half tiger. 🐧 it's a panda
XD. I did the exact same thing when I first encountered the Basking Shark in EO2! It was almost the same exact size as Thanatos, same map, only a couple grid squares away from where you first encounter him AND where he normally appears, and nearly the same shape. I was even there for the Basking specifically, and I immediately forgot when the cutscene began. I also played EO1 after EO2, and Magu Tapa (who Thanatos is a mod of) made me so nervous for so long, even after I figured out that everything was docile in EO1. I bet it will be goblin sharks or caimans that spook me this time since I had gotten so used to their aggression in EO2, and the lack of dangerous creatures in Luminous will take a while to get used to.
Cannot wait. I loved the first two so much. The feeling of utter terror when you dive into the Abyss for the first time. Stroking all the fish to collect facts. I’m so happy. I have come to realise that my two favourite things in gaming are a) collecting all the things and b) uncovering the map. So long as this has that then I’m going to be so happy.
My mother loves this series I would watch her play it on the Wii and laugh at her when she gets surprised by the Goblin Shark popping up behind her lol. This will be her early birthday present for sure
As someone who loves the ocean with a passion, it both brings me joy and makes me sad to see this game. Because the ocean in real life has become so trash-filled and deceased that almost nothing can live there anymore. Animal species are getting extinct left and right, all because of us humans. These days you can't find a single image or video that shows a healthy looking ocean. Unless we do something - and fast - to help the ocean, this video game "Endless Ocean Luminous" might very well be the only glimpse into what the ocean should look like. I look forward to playing the game, dreaming of a world that could have been if we humans weren't as horribly selfish as we are.
With every piece of new info that drops, I fall more in love! Genuinely, the Endless Ocean series has meant more to me than I can say (without sounding like a big sap, anyway) and I'm so deeply excited to come back home in exactly a month!
This game is absolutely beautiful. I’ve already got the money saved up to buy this. Can’t wait. Hopefully this game gets a positive reception when it comes out. Now I’m 18 and history is about to repeat itself. My grandparents bought this game for me as a surprise graduation gift, and I already know we’re going to be spending lots of time playing it together once it arrives 😅❤️
I'm going get so emotional playing this game😭 I played the first two games when I was a kid very religiously❤ So it'll be nostalgic but something new at tge same time.
I have been playing this series since the days it was called Aquanaut's Holiday. Everblue 2 was my #1 favorite game on PS2. I purchased the rarest PS3 game ever, which is the Korean-English version of Aquanaut's Holiday PS3. I will be picking up Endless Ocean Luminous DAY ONE. Thank you, Nintendo, for bringing us this incredible game in an incredible series in an incredible genre!
Well…that’s only because of the massive dedicated fan base that Endless Ocean has had since 2007 (yes, the series is that old). It combines what everyone would expect from a basic scuba diving simulator with storytelling and light RPG mechanics. I don’t know how Ecco was or when the last title came out, but I feel like the age of EO and its engaging story focus are what generate this hype. It’s a hype that is expected from the rebirth of such a great series.
Looks nice, looking forward to it. Hopefully that bubbling water sound effect isn't really present non-stop in the full game, or that there are good audio settings to be able to adjust/negate it. I was annoyed by it before the trailer was even half over.
I play the previous entry through about twice a year. The bubbles aren’t really noticeable, but lategame (especially once you can stay down longer), you do start to notice the breathing sound. It’s not too frequent though, and you only notice it once music stops and you aren’t doing much.
It’s a series staple. Both of the original games were pushing the limits for the Wii, and aside from vaguely blocky/pixelated models/graphics, even those still hold up well! And the loading times were not long at all, nor interruptive!
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!

🐧 it's a panda
WELCOME TO NINEBALL ISLAND. YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW IT GOT THAT NAME
We call call him the Cyclops
as long as you don't startle them you have nothing to WORRY ABOUT!!!
Help this game do well, and we might get to see L&L Diving Service in an HD remaster/port. ;)
This looks super relaxing but if I see a Basking Shark this guy gonna break so many underwater speed records trying to get away
Why? Basking sharks are big frens, they just want plankton
Get ready then because they were in the second game lol.
Looking forward to this! 😁
Yeah, I think I need this just for the cozy vibes
I might need to buy this
Same.
Ain't no way. I haven't played one of these in a very long time.
With every piece of new info that drops, I fall more in love!
Genuinely, the Endless Ocean series has meant more to me than I can say (without sounding like a big sap, anyway) and I'm so deeply excited to come back home in exactly a month!
Why dont you go away spammer@@Personthatexists
@@Nibs08 I shoo him away
I am honestly so excited for this game. It's weird to say, but I really did grow up with Blue World. And I'm really excited to have a follow up in HD!
This game is absolutely beautiful. I’ve already got the money saved up to buy this. Can’t wait. Hopefully this game gets a positive reception when it comes out. I never played the originals so this will be a really nice surprise for me and People forget that this game isn’t actually a remake. It’s actually a new entry into the endless ocean series.
I’m so excited for this.
I spent many hours playing the Wii version, I'm so happy that there's going to be another one. Can't wait to play it.
I still play the first one on wii from time to time. Love this series!
This was a really great gameplay trailer! It reminded me of the Wii and 3DS era trailers where they just showed the actual game.
For those of you who read this, I just wanted to let you know that everything will be fine. If you're going through a hard time now, it's a temporary thing, and it's okay to remind you that there are many good and comfortable days ahead. I wish you all the best, love and strength. Good night! 💗
I love that endless ocean is making a return! Cant wait to play it!
Loved the first 2 games. Can't wait to dive in on this.
Unbelievably excited for this game... I never thought I'd get to see a new game from this series, let alone one with an extensive prehistoric roster!
An extensive roster period! 578 fish! Blue World had 342 or so.
Time to explore the Ocean & hopefully find a sunken Ocean Liner from the 40s to explore :D
“Where is Padme?”
“You killed her.”

Game Grumps gotta play this!
Quando giocai per la prima volta con Endless Ocean per Wii rimasi completamente affascinato . Ho ancora l'acquario personale in forma e vitale...giocherò con immensa gioia con questa versione per Switch
Endless Ocean gives me so many chill vibes, I can't wait!
This looks gorgeous, I’m impressed with the graphics and solid designs, everything is so smooth.
I just hope to hear Hayley westenra’s voice while I dive again. My heart 😢
Okay but the MULTIPLE species of amonites in that under water castle has me SALIVATING at the prospect of there being paleo events where a region is just suddenly infested by extinct critters
Just hoping for a physical copy.....
They are out there; you can preorder them already (here in the UK at least)
Physical is confirmed!
I mean, it’s Nintendo, so of course there’s a physical release.
Yeah.... thanks fir the good news
Endless Ocean was my favorite game as a kid!!! It was so fascinating to explore the ocean with all the fish and treasure
The Real Diving Simulator. Endless Ocean is the Gran Turismo of Nintendo games

Coelacanth!
COELACAAAAAAANTH!
Impressive how this game looks so nice on the switch !
Good old times watching skullkid3‘s let‘s plays, being terrified and amazed at the same time
So happy that we're finally getting another EO game after all these years 😄🐟
Show of hands y’all, who’s gonna bet The Anxiety will be amped up in the story? Because gosh darn did blue world’s story make my heart rate *spike*
On the edge of my seat for this one!
Words cannot even describe how excited I am for this game. I was only 6 the first time I played this game. My grandparents had gotten it for me and we spent countless hours playing it together.
Beautiful 😮❤
I have been playing this series since the days it was called Aquanaut's Holiday. Everblue 2 was my #1 favorite game on PS2. I purchased the rarest PS3 game ever, which is the Korean-English version of Aquanaut's Holiday PS3. I will be picking up Endless Ocean Luminous DAY ONE. Thank you, Nintendo, for bringing us this incredible game in an incredible series in an incredible genre!
I absolutely cannot wait for this. I loved playing Endless Ocean with my mom.
Nintendo is the only company that can play sounds of the ocean and whale calls and make us hyped up for a videogame with it.
Ecco the Dolphin?
Subnautica?
Hello?
Well…that’s only because of the massive dedicated fan base that Endless Ocean has had since 2007 (yes, the series is that old). It combines what everyone would expect from a basic scuba diving simulator with storytelling and light RPG mechanics.
I don’t know how Ecco was or when the last title came out, but I feel like the age of EO and its engaging story focus are what generate this hype. It’s a hype that is expected from the rebirth of such a great series.
I can't wait! I loved endless ocean and blue world on wii back in the day
Endless Ocean is my favorite game and I'm looking forward to it. I hope it will have the aquarium functionality it had before.
0:23 There’s a Whale Shark.
The biggest fish that’s big as a school bus.🚌
And unlike other sharks,
A whale shark is a filter feeder.
Can the whale shark beat goku tho?
Thank you, Jean-Eric Louvire!
:)
YESSSS OH MAN!!
I reacted to the trailer with SUCH emotion, I of course am beyond excited for this one.
Will cover DAY ONE!!
@@PersonthatexistsWanna bet?
I will be buying this as soon as I can! I even got a Switch just so I could play this game. I hope we can explore other maps like in Blue World!
Can't wait to see the Grumps absolutely adore this game. Also, if Hayley Westenra isn't in this one I'm gonna riot 😂
The graphics Looks so good for a Nintendo Switch Game 👍🏻
It’s a series staple. Both of the original games were pushing the limits for the Wii, and aside from vaguely blocky/pixelated models/graphics, even those still hold up well! And the loading times were not long at all, nor interruptive!
All I know is that sound track better be as legendary as Endless Ocean and Endless Ocean Blue World
My inner six-year-old seven-year-old self is so happy right now you don’t know how much
I am SO glad there was no cheesy voiceover this time around.
LET YOUR ARMS ENFOLD US
THROUGH THE DARK OF THE LIGHT
WILL YOUR ANGELS HOLD US
TIL WE SEE THE LIGHT
Can’t wait to play this.
I don't think I'll find this nearly as magical or immersive as Blue World, but I am pretty excited to give it a shot regardless.
LUMINOUS DOLPHINS
OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH I LOVE THIS GAME I PLAY IT EVERYDAY IVE BEEN PLAYING THIS SINCE I WAS THREE THIS WAS MADE FOR ME!!!! THANK YOU NINTENDO!!!
@@Personthatexists As long as there is fish I won’t be too disappointed lol

please im begging bring an endless ocean 2 port to switch. this is okay but i just need to relive my favourite game of all time
Woohoo! Finally a new "endless ocean"!!
I'm so getting this game! Well, me and my family, heh.
I hope there will be beautiful songs like in the previous games.
