Just purchased mines today from Walmart. The husband and I love it. I cooked chicken and asparagus on it. The chicken turned out juicy. Not dried out at all. I love it and definitely recommend it. I followed the instructions to ensure I was using it correctly. I added water to the water tray. Made sure everything was assembled correctly and "kept the lid on" 😜 So I am pleased with my purchase.

fs127 not true I have one and I cook EVERYTHING on it with the lid on. I have had no issues at all. I cooked two slabs of ribs at the same time and they came out perfect.
Kenisha is right. It won't steam because there's a fan circulating air inside. The lid keeps the heat temp constant. Just like you keep your lid closed when grilling outside as well to keep the temp constant.

I'm sure you've figured it out by this point, but without the lid the suction from the fan is pulling cooler air down onto the food. Usually on a grill the fire and the heat from it create an updraft that keeps the cooler air away. The food will cook like this but it will take twice as long, if not longer.
But if the lid breaks after one use then its a poorly made product. The grate was warped and didn't sit properly in the base. I do not recommend this product. Thanks for watching

She used it wrong. The grill wasn't all the way down on the right and she didn't even use the lide. I have one and it works perfectly fine. User error!
I have had one of these for 6 months and use it at least once a week. The model I have is a PowerXL Smokeless Grill and I got it at Sam's Club. It has a digital readout for the temperature. As others have mentioned, I see the following issues with your review: Lid must be on for it work properly. Fan will not pull out the smoke with the lid off. You close the lid on a outside BBQ, why wouldn't you on this device? Pour the water in the catch tray with it inside the grill, not at the sink. Spray the grill surface with Pam BBQ spray. Your grill is not level in the unit. It needs to be level or you will not have even grilling and temperature. I use silicon tipped tongs to turn/pick up the food so I don't scratch the grill surface. Put removable grill in sink and spray with the new PowerWash Dawn detergent and let it sit for a few minutes. Cleanup is easier then. I like this product and am buying one for my daughter for Christmas. As with everything...follow the directions!
I also have one the fan does come out for cleaning there is a screw you have to remove then it will slide out. Wonderful grill I give it a great big thumbs up
Couldn't disagree more with this review. I absolutely love my Power Smokeless Grill. Simply letting it heat up slightly longer and using the lid as recommended would've drastically improved the grill performance.
Also you have to turn on the fan first and then turn on the power. Says it should warm up for three or four minutes first. People need to read the directions.
I also notice that after being reassembled, the grate looks like it’s sitting at an angle.. I have to wonder if it’s all getting contact because of this.

You are supposed to put the lid on for one.I have this grill and I love it. It makes a great steak and hamburgers so juicy. I have no complaints at all. Use it properly and time things yourself as they way you like your food. It does cook evenly when used properly.
Yeah, you gotta redo this video.. My parents have this same smokeless grill and you have to cook with the cover closed otherwise your food ends up undercooked.
The lid is broken so I couldn't cook with it. Its also warped so I would not bother with it his item. It's poorly made and I do not recommend it. Thanks for watching
One problem might be you didn't have the grill plate properly seated. Another might be the chicken was drenched in the marinade with no oil so you were steaming rather than grilling. I have the Power XL Smokeless and it is fantastic giving great grill marks.
I agree. You can see that the grill plate is probably backwards. When looking at the metal back where the fan is, one side is higher than the other. Bet if she turned it around it would have come out better. I have this grill and it works really well. Check the underneath to make sure it's on correctly!
Nope. It's terrible I won't put myself through that again. The lid handle was broken. The problem with the grill is that it doesn't sit properly on the base and doesn't get hot enough. Thanks for watching
You did not put the lid on! When you put the lid on while cooking it sizzles and browns! Love this grill! It cooks close to a gas and charcoal if done right.

Your right side of the grill is Not fully contacted to the heating element. The right side looks more poped up. It's why the uneven cook on surface and take longer time.
My son and dil gave me one for Christmas this year (2021) and I love it! I have 2 Ninja Foodi's and this one does just as good, if not better than those. Of course, there are differences in the two appliances :) Every appliance has a "hot spot" & will cook faster in areas than others. This is so quiet and the clean up is a breeze! Loving mine :) I do appreciate your review of the grill.
I agree with what you said. The grill grate appears to be a bit lop-sided and not properly seated on heating element. The grill grate can only be seated in one direction, not both.
Thank ypu very much for your candid review. Unfortunately I found your review the day AFTER I had already purchased my PowerXL. The good thing, though, is that the manufacturer must have seen your review because they fixed everything that you identified was wrong with their product. My PowerXL fan did not have a ringing sound and cooked my chicken drumstucks, chicken tenders and fish fillets all evenly. So for me...so far.. it was a good investment. Lesson learned, however, checkout the reviews BEFORE I make my purchase. Thanks again.
I followed the directions and cooked some Spareribs. They browned well and was tender and I used the liid. Opinions very when it come to new appliances. Do you remember the Ronco Rotisserie set it and for it. brought one and it worked perfectly. My sister bought one and never got it to work to her satisfaction and gave it away,
sweetsavant, it looks like the right hand side where it doesn't cook as much is higher up than the other side which cooks darker. Perhaps that higher side is further away from the heating element and so it doesn't get as hot.
You did not put the grill together correctly. It should not be lopsided like that. The grilling pan is on backward and so does not seat correctly on the heating element. The high pitched squeal is a warning that you've put it together incorrectly.
OK I bought one from QVC this month. It is early September 2020. I have the grill and the griddle. It was packaged beautifully absolutely nothing is dinged up or cracked or broken. It's very sturdily made I must admit. I'm going to read the instructions -- OMG- reading! and take the advice of several other posters who said you have to put the lid on. That's part of the process. My lid fits very securely. I'm not sure where she might've bought this one, but is it possible that like when you buy junk from Ollies and big lots, those have been returned and refurbished. They already had problems. Then they put them in those stores and they sell them for less money. You're not getting a brand new grill. You're getting someone else's problem... also it is no big deal to wash these elements by hand. I wash my cookware by hand. And I have two sets for an induction range. It's just no big deal. So we shall see.
Atolla Manuel oh my. If I knew you were interested, I would've been glad to make arrangements and send it to you. This is what happened. It was the QVC package with both of them. I ended up sending it back to them but not because it was bad. It was really excellent for what it is. But I am one person. And I used it three times. And I realized that I don't eat that much chicken or pork, etc. anymore. And it was just not a good value for me. But I really don't think it's a terrible item. I would actually just go online and ask where can I buy the griddle for it.. Maybe through that company's website and get it. I would tell you to Google it but I don't use Google. I use DuckDuckGo....one caveat. I hand washed all of the used parts with the grill and all with no problem. But I was real tired the second time I used it and I put the grill in the dishwasher and it was no problem and it came out beautifully. The silver piece the bottom tray I hand wash still. So I can't complain about it. Nice idea. And also a QVC there is the Emerald Gossi 360 thing that does an air fryer and Bob Bob blah blah blah blah. And it sounds fascinating but once again good God you know kind of more than I really needed. But thank you for asking. I hope you have a blessed day. I don't know where you are. But I hope your weather is better than Florida. And don't forget to vote. We need you.
It needs to be used with the lid on the reason why it is smokeless. I have had mine for 3 years and I love it. And while it does take longer to cook like chicken breast than like on the stove, the benefit is that you can walk away from it and get other things done which is why I love it
No matter how good or bad product is the way it is use. Always cover with lid. Never overload it with food. If do huge disaster. And proper cleaning and maintenance.
I got this as a Christmas gift. I have used it twice and it worked very well. What pisses me off about this product is that the temp gauge doesn't let you cook in increments of say 325 or 275. I was told by customer service to either cook at a lower temp for longer or a higher temp for a shorter amount of time and to keep checking the temp of the food. Pretty ridiculous. For that reason alone, I think I will find one with a digital display.
You may be right about it being a refurbished product. It's hard to know. This grill isn't the right product for me, I don't like the controls either. I have another brand that I will try soon. Thanks so much for watching!
I don't have one of these, but it appears to be an unfair review. It seems that you want to put the blame on the grill when the problem is actually user error. If the lid is broken, you should have returned it before doing the review. The replies from other users make me think this grill will do what it is advertised to do and would encourage me to buy it rather than to dismiss it based on your review.
The lid was broken after the first use and was not usable. The surface is flat, the grill is warped. It's not a good product and I do not recommend purchasing it. Thank you for watching
Not to be rude. But I see two reasons why its not cooking properly. Reason # 1 your tray is uneven, which is maybe why the fan is making that noise. That's also why it's not cooking your chicken and veggies evenly. And Reason # 2 your not using the lid.
Thank you for your accurate review. I would also like to add that the Powerless Smokeless Grille only comes with a 60 day warranty so when my unit stopped working after only 8 months I was out of luck! Wish I did some more research before suckering for the infomercial!
It's kind of easy to see why you got the uneven results: your grill plate isn't pushed down evenly as it should be. The right side sticks up at an angle, as apparent from your video, meaning that the heating element is not in good contact with that part of the grill. Indeed, the right side of the grill might be a half-inch or so above the part of the heating element located there. You might as well have tried cooking that meat by just laying it on your counter for a while. This review is rather meaningless as the result.

Stop the video at 2:13 and you will see that the grill plate is not level. That's why it didn't cook properly. Nothing wrong with this appliance, the fault was human error.
@@sweetsavant there must be a fault with your one if it doesn't fit properly. I've seen other demos of this appliance and the grill/griddle fit perfectly level.
If your top was broken and you had other issues, you should’ve exchanged it or got a refund-it doesn’t make sense to do a review unless you are properly prepared. Also, I think it works better with the top on, and next time measure your water in a measuring cup, and bring it to the product, not the other way around. Glad you found another product that you liked. 😉
Mine is perfect. It looks like your plate isn't set evenly, so the heat isn't being distributed the same across the entire plate. Maybe that's the problem?
If you want to make a valid review, I suggest a few things. 1. Use the lid the way it's recommended 2. Place the unit on a level surface. 3. Use a thermometer to validate temperature. 4. Consider that you may have busted the handle and not that it just came broken.

I have it and it’s weird... mine cooks chicken quickly at even 350... to the point after being on the grill for a few mins.... they tend to get this burnt crusting on it.... and that’s why I don’t like the grill... it always had this burnt black film on the chicken and u had to scrape it off to even enjoy the chicken some what....

Thanx for an honest review. I was 5 minutes away from buying this POS until I checked your video out. Ima stay cookin it old style on my cast iron. Looks like a real pain in the ass to clean too. Yep, it’s a fail.
No it's very easy to clean its non stick and comes apart you stick 90%of it in dish washer I have one and she did so many things wrong she wasn't even trying to clean it at that point she threw in the spong check other reviews of people properly using the product
Tbh you really didn't listen to the rules at all. Mine is absolutely perfect and I wanted to hate it. I got even grill marks with everything I cook. You also put the tray on incorrectly. I also tested the temperature myself with a touch less thermometer and its very accurate yes it goes to 450 f.
I am very confused. Mine grills perfectly with marks and all real quick. Either you got a defective one or i ended up with a special one 😂 it was a gift though. On skirt steaks especially, it was marvelous. And zero smoke and smell. Oh wait! You have it on wrong! On the right side. Thats why its not working good. Plus the lid.
sweetsavant i came to realize that due to so many complaints and so many others that love it, that means there is definitely inconsistency in the effectiveness of the production of this item. I bought one a year ago and it is fantastic. I think you got a defected one. My grill heats everywhere with grill marks and I hardly hear the fan. You need to put the top on when you grill meats. You should have took it back and got another one.
She didn't seat the grill plate properly. You can see it's crooked. Also, she left the cover off so all the heat is escaping. I just got one of these and it made my burgers and hot dogs perfectly. Will try pork chops tonight.
Also, take the 2 cup measuring cup over to it and pour it into it -- you don't take the unit out to fill it with 2 cups and then struggle across the room to drop it in place. Sheesh.
YES!!Does not get hot enough have to heat grill on stove first hard to clean, heavy bulky and the element burnt out could not replace a waste of good money, stay away!!
I've read through all the comments posted and I agree with the ones stating this was a lopsided review. If the product had issues as soon as you opened the box and you couldn't cook as directed by the instructions (the broken lid and lopsided plate) it makes no sense to say the food didn't cook correctly-because it couldn'twithout the lid. I've actually seen other youtubers have this problem, contact the company and get a replacement so they can do a proper review, instead of repeatedly posting the same response to people that point out the errors made in the video.
Grill tray not seated right. So you got uneven cooking...i just got one and it cooked my steaks beautifully. Cleaning is kind of a pain though. Too many parts to clean

My cooking experience was the same as sweetsavant’s. I did used the lid, with a food that I’ve cooked in the frying pan and electric frying pan many times. It took longer to cook (it was 3 frozen Angus burgers), they were tougher than when cooked in the pan (probably because it wasn’t cooking in its grease), but I got nice grill marks and as advertised, the fan does take about 80% of the smoke away . Also, in comparison to cleaning one frying pan, it’s a lot more to clean up - cleaning the lid, griddle, drip pan and the water pan. I returned it to the store.

Can you try to align the grate properly and test again?
I fix all sorts of appliances i can say from experience that over 90%of the time its user errors not the appliance

My son and dil gave me one for Christmas this year (2021) and I love it! I have 2 Ninja Foodi's and this one does just as good, if not better than those. Of course, there are differences in the two appliances :) Every appliance has a "hot spot" & will cook faster in areas than others. This is so quiet and the clean up is a breeze! Loving mine :) I do appreciate your review of the grill.
I have the power xl grill and it works perfectly
It looks like the grill part was not all the way down on the side where control is. Maybe that is why wasn't cooking.
I agree with what you said. The grill grate appears to be a bit lop-sided and not properly seated on heating element. The grill grate can only be seated in one direction, not both.
I say return the item, especially with the odd sound the fan is making, plus broken handle on the glass cover.
May be thats why it was making that noise also

Thank ypu very much for your candid review. Unfortunately I found your review the day AFTER I had already purchased my PowerXL. The good thing, though, is that the manufacturer must have seen your review because they fixed everything that you identified was wrong with their product. My PowerXL fan did not have a ringing sound and cooked my chicken drumstucks, chicken tenders and fish fillets all evenly. So for me...so far.. it was a good investment. Lesson learned, however, checkout the reviews BEFORE I make my purchase. Thanks again.

sweetsavant, it looks like the right hand side where it doesn't cook as much is higher up than the other side which cooks darker. Perhaps that higher side is further away from the heating element and so it doesn't get as hot.
You did not put the grill together correctly. It should not be lopsided like that. The grilling pan is on backward and so does not seat correctly on the heating element. The high pitched squeal is a warning that you've put it together incorrectly.
The lid handle was broken. The problem with the grill is that it doesn't sit properly on the base and doesn't get hot enough. Thanks for watching

OK I bought one from QVC this month. It is early September 2020. I have the grill and the griddle. It was packaged beautifully absolutely nothing is dinged up or cracked or broken. It's very sturdily made I must admit. I'm going to read the instructions -- OMG- reading! and take the advice of several other posters who said you have to put the lid on. That's part of the process. My lid fits very securely. I'm not sure where she might've bought this one, but is it possible that like when you buy junk from Ollies and big lots, those have been returned and refurbished. They already had problems. Then they put them in those stores and they sell them for less money. You're not getting a brand new grill. You're getting someone else's problem... also it is no big deal to wash these elements by hand. I wash my cookware by hand. And I have two sets for an induction range. It's just no big deal. So we shall see.

Atolla Manuel oh my. If I knew you were interested, I would've been glad to make arrangements and send it to you. This is what happened. It was the QVC package with both of them. I ended up sending it back to them but not because it was bad. It was really excellent for what it is. But I am one person. And I used it three times. And I realized that I don't eat that much chicken or pork, etc. anymore. And it was just not a good value for me. But I really don't think it's a terrible item. I would actually just go online and ask where can I buy the griddle for it.. Maybe through that company's website and get it. I would tell you to Google it but I don't use Google. I use DuckDuckGo....one caveat. I hand washed all of the used parts with the grill and all with no problem. But I was real tired the second time I used it and I put the grill in the dishwasher and it was no problem and it came out beautifully. The silver piece the bottom tray I hand wash still. So I can't complain about it. Nice idea. And also a QVC there is the Emerald Gossi 360 thing that does an air fryer and Bob Bob blah blah blah blah. And it sounds fascinating but once again good God you know kind of more than I really needed. But thank you for asking. I hope you have a blessed day. I don't know where you are. It needs to be used with the lid on the reason why it is smokeless. I have had mine for 3 years and I love it. And while it does take longer to cook like chicken breast than like on the stove, the benefit is that you can walk away from it and get other things done which is why I love it

No matter how good or bad product is the way it is use. Always cover with lid. Never overload it with food. If do huge disaster. And proper cleaning and maintenance.
The lid was broken. The grill was not overloaded. It had only been used 2 or three times. It is a poorly made product.
I got this as a Christmas gift. I have used it twice and it worked very well. What pisses me off about this product is that the temp gauge doesn't let you cook in increments of say 325 or 275. I was told by customer service to either cook at a lower temp for longer or a higher temp for a shorter amount of time and to keep checking the temp of the food. Pretty ridiculous. For that reason alone, I think I will find one with a digital display.
The grill is not placed properly on the burner. The control end of the grill plate is not seated on the burner. Look!

I don't have one of these, but it appears to be an unfair review. It seems that you want to put the blame on the grill when the problem is actually user error. If the lid is broken, you should have returned it before doing the review. The replies from other users make me think this grill will do what it is advertised to do and would encourage me to buy it rather than to dismiss it based on your review.

yes, maybe you should the lid, and make sure you lace the grill on an balanced surface
The lid was broken after the first use and was not usable. The surface is flat, the grill is warped. It's not a good product and I do not recommend purchasing it. Thank you for watching

Not to be rude. But I see two reasons why its not cooking properly. Reason # 1 your tray is uneven, which is maybe why the fan is making that noise. That's also why it's not cooking your chicken and veggies evenly. And Reason # 2 your not using the lid.

Thank you for your accurate review. I would also like to add that the Powerless Smokeless Grille only comes with a 60 day warranty so when my unit stopped working after only 8 months I was out of luck! Wish I did some more research before suckering for the infomercial!

You prolly shoulda got the powered one, it works a lot better than the powerless one you chose
It's kind of easy to see why you got the uneven results: your grill plate isn't pushed down evenly as it should be. The right side sticks up at an angle, as apparent from your video, meaning that the heating element is not in good contact with that part of the grill. Indeed, the right side of the grill might be a half-inch or so above the part of the heating element located there. You might as well have tried cooking that meat by just laying it on your counter for a while.
This review is rather meaningless as the result.

I noticed from the start she didnt set the grill in place correctly the right side doesnt have contact ,fail yes but its ure fault mam.
It doesn't fit properly on the housing because it is faulty. I don't recommend this product. Thanks for watching
Stop the video at 2:13 and you will see that the grill plate is not level. That's why it didn't cook properly. Nothing wrong with this appliance, the fault was human error.

@@sweetsavant there must be a fault with your one if it doesn't fit properly. I've seen other demos of this appliance and the grill/griddle fit perfectly level.
If your top was broken and you had other issues, you should’ve exchanged it or got a refund-it doesn’t make sense to do a review unless you are properly prepared. Also, I think it works better with the top on, and next time measure your water in a measuring cup, and bring it to the product, not the other way around. Glad you found another product that you liked. 😉
Mine is perfect. It looks like your plate isn't set evenly, so the heat isn't being distributed the same across the entire plate. Maybe that's the problem?
Looks like she didn't put the grill tray in right its a little off.
Did not putting the lid on affect the grilling time and such?
If you want to make a valid review, I suggest a few things. 1. Use the lid the way it's recommended 2. Place the unit on a level surface. 3. Use a thermometer to validate temperature. 4. Consider that you may have busted the handle and not that it just came broken.

we bought this grill it works ok but when I went to clean it the drip try were the side vents are ripped my fingers open watch out
I have it and it’s weird... mine cooks chicken quickly at even 350... to the point after being on the grill for a few mins.... they tend to get this burnt crusting on it.... and that’s why I don’t like the grill... it always had this burnt black film on the chicken and u had to scrape it off to even enjoy the chicken some what....
I don't know why you have a problem with this because we love ours! It works very well and is easy to clean up.
Power xl smokeless grill is a 1500 watts unit, some is 1200 watts, they have upgraded the unit since last year and years before

Tbh you really didn't listen to the rules at all. Mine is absolutely perfect and I wanted to hate it. I got even grill marks with everything I cook. You also put the tray on incorrectly. I also tested the temperature myself with a touch less thermometer and its very accurate yes it goes to 450 f.
You can tell the grill is not seated properly. The air vent on the top don't line up evenly.
I know this is a late comment but she did it so wrong! She didn't notice that the grill plate was not flat????? How embarrassing!!!!
And she didn't use the dang lid!!!

I am very confused. Mine grills perfectly with marks and all real quick. Either you got a defective one or i ended up with a special one 😂 it was a gift though. On skirt steaks especially, it was marvelous. And zero smoke and smell.

sweetsavant i came to realize that due to so many complaints and so many others that love it, that means there is definitely inconsistency in the effectiveness of the production of this item. Which IS a bad thing for a company to do. It ends up in losing trust of people. Same way i hate going to dunkin donuts for coffee because none brew it with consistency. 😄

I bought one a year ago and it is fantastic. I think you got a defected one. My grill heats everywhere with grill marks and I hardly hear the fan. You need to put the top on when you grill meats. You should have took it back and got another one.
She didn't seat the grill plate properly. You can see it's crooked. Also, she left the cover off so all the heat is escaping. I just got one of these and it made my burgers and hot dogs perfectly. Will try pork chops tonight.
Also, take the 2 cup measuring cup over to it and pour it into it -- you don't take the unit out to fill it with 2 cups and then struggle across the room to drop it in place. Sheesh.

I've read through all the comments posted and I agree with the ones stating this was a lopsided review. If the product had issues as soon as you opened the box and you couldn't cook as directed by the instructions (the broken lid and lopsided plate) it makes no sense to say the food didn't cook correctly-because it couldn'twithout the lid. I've actually seen other youtubers have this problem, contact the company and get a replacement so they can do a proper review, instead of repeatedly posting the same response to people that point out the errors made in the video.

Grill tray not seated right. So you got uneven cooking...i just got one and it cooked my steaks beautifully. Cleaning is kind of a pain though. Too many parts to clean
You didn't set your tray correctly... the side that wasn't cooking good, is raised. Do another video correcting your errors and use the lid. thank you anyway.

Nah, It's terrible. It broke on the first use and the grate is warped. It's not that I'm using it improperly, it can't be used properly because it's poorly made.

My cooking experience was the same as sweetsavant’s. I did used the lid, with a food that I’ve cooked in the frying pan and electric frying pan many times. It took longer to cook (it was 3 frozen Angus burgers), they were tougher than when cooked in the pan (probably because it wasn’t cooking in its grease), but I got nice grill marks and as advertised, the fan does take about 80% of the smoke away . Also, in comparison to cleaning one frying pan, it’s a lot more to clean up - cleaning the lid, griddle, drip pan and the water pan. I returned it to the store.
I had a similar experience. I don’t like the product. Way too much to clean and not worth it. I’d rather use a regular grill

In one year I've made tons of sausages, pork chops, and chicken on mine. The food tastes wonderful, but there is a fair bit of smoke.
Why do you think they have a lid for it??
The lid broke so I couldn't use it. Very cheaply made
