Yeah, like putting Aerodactyl, Mawile and Kangaskhan on the strongest base Pokemon list when the reasoning for them being on there is their Mega. We could talk about them strictly as mega, but Mystic said Aerodactyl get's Tough Claws boosted Dual Wingbeat which can't happen due to no megas in Gen 8
The reson sableye is used in doubles is coz 1) it can set up sun , incase torkoal doesn't fit you team 2) it can't be prankster taunted 3) learns quash ally switch and a lot more And liepard is pretty good at vgc
@@AhmedHussain-ju6xd morpeko is fast, has a decent typing, and a couple of good support moves. Plus the frailty can be solved with ev support and a focus sash.
As expected, my precious doggo Mightyena is on this list. A big problem with it is honestly its lack of good set up, as it doesn’t have Swords Dance or Bulk Up or Agility that could really help it out. Also, the fact that it’s the Biting Pokémon but doesn’t have Strong Jaw is hilariously cruel.
Mightyena is one of those pokemon that SHOULD get strongjaw, IT'S BASED ON HYENAS WHICH HAVE JAWS THAT BITE THROUGH BONE LIKE BUTTER!!! T-T My poor sweet kitty pup has been neglected and forgotten. Oh yeah, apparently they are more related to cats than dogs. And there are other "Nature are you drunk?" relations out there. Like dugongs being related to elephants. And birds being more closely related to reptiles than alligators and crocs. Nature needs to put down the Everclear.

Absol's stats always confused me, I'm not quite sure what this Pokemon is meant to do outside of hit hard and nothing else. Even then, it's too frail to take a hit, too slow to make use of that 130 ATK and, ironically, too fast to use Trick Room. Thank god doubles and Baton Pass are a thing otherwise, Absol has nothing to work with w/o its Mega

I actually think Poison/Dark is a great typing. Any dual typing that narrows the amount of weaknesses a Pokémon has to just one is solid in my eyes and while Ground is common, it’s only a x2 weakness instead of the usual X4 when compared to most. It’s just that Skunktank doesn’t have the stats or moves to take advantage of it hence why it sucks.
I agree. Poison/Dark is a great typing, Skuntanks movepool is just poor. I know one of my favorites, Seviper, would benefit greatly from this combo so it would get stab boosts from Crunch and Sucker Punch

I think this is a good list, but imo absol and sableye shouldn’t have been included here. You claimed that they fell from grace with the removal of their mega evolutions, but that didn’t stop you from including mawhile’s, kanghaskan’s and aerodactyl’s mega evolutions on your “Top 10 STRONGEST Pokemon that DON’T Evolve” list. To me it just seems a bit unfair to approach two lists differently in terms of pokémon who’ve lost their mega evolutions. I don’t know if you have an explanation for this, but I believe it would be appropriate to change this in the future.

Let's finish this with the following: bug rock steel ground dragon fairy poison I know that ground types aren't weak to dragon types, but nothing is, except other dragon types. I had to put it somewhere though. So I put it after ground types so that the weakness theme continues. No matter how else I switch it around, nothing is better than this order.

My cacturne with a focus sash is dope. Spiky shield for chip damage, payback for a ton of damage after hanging on with the sash, then sucker punch to end it. I’ve caught so many people off guard with that tactic!

I say go for the Bug type next. Also, in my opinion, I consider Thievul and Liepard better, but still on this list and Skuntank better to avoid this list, but the rest are pretty much as bad as you said or a little worse. An example, is that I feel Alolan Persian is more worth in being part of the Top 5.
But the Alolan form of Persian, specifically the one Nanu had, always gave me trouble. He. Was. ANNOYING. Also, I did use a Mightyena in my original Omega Ruby playthrough. I think I had him till the end though I am not sure.
I must agree, Liepard isn't any outstanding in competitive, but there is one thing worth to mention. Liepard is probably the best choice for one of most feared strategies in Anything Goes - Assist Spore. What Assist do, is picking one random move from movesets of your team members, but threre are some moves, which cannot be used with assist. Those are for example two-turn or negative prioriy moves. Basically, what you do is making a team with moves not compatible with Assist and Spore. That makes Assist roll spore 100% of the time, and since AG doesn't have sleep clause, you can spam Assist freely, as long as there aren't any dark or grass types. After that, you Substitute, Nasty Plot and sweep with Dark Pulse. That's one thing Liepard can be really proud of.
I agree with everything expect for Sableye. Its type and prankster make it a fast control mon that has a lot of versatile strategies. For example you can set up Calm Mind and run Shadow Ball or you can go for a Knock off and Fake Out type of control. Combine that with Prankster Will-o'-Wisp and Recover from an egg move, it can sweep teams that are not prepared for it. I still use it on all of my teams even after the loss of its mega.
So far I noticed the early half of Dark, Ghost and Fighting lists is really a case of "least good" rather than awful which I think will likely be the case for steel and especially dragon type videos. Bug on the other hand I want to see, because man will that list absolutely have some stinkers
In a regular game walkthrough, it's very useful (especially in SS, against Bede) but in competitive, it isn't that good. Alolan Muk is a better Poison/Dark type to use thanks to it's better bulk and very useful Poison Touch ability.
I've got to say, this is probably the best list you've ever made! Persian probably should'be been replaced with Shiftry, but aside from that the top 10 is spot on imo.
Thievul made a decent support mon for Rillaboom in VGC earlier in gen 8. snarl throat-spray Thievul with AV Rillaboom made for a surprisingly powerful duo, though I never had the chance to use it myself at the time
I'm thinking ahead a bit, and I think Bug->Rock->Steel-Ground is the way to go because Ground beats both of Fairy's weakness and Fighting, Fire, Grass, Water, Psychic and Ice have all been covered.
Morpeko is surprisingly good and saying it's weird or doesn't have good bulk aren't valid reasons to say that it's bad and I also believe Liepard is criminally underrated
But low stats is fragile and easily KOed. Regarding utility, that is up to debate whether the overall strenght should be determined by including that. However, regarding not being an attacker means other stats have to give enough justification for its usage. Ferrothorn and walls are not attacker but they compensate with other remarkable stats. I think in the video, most of the mons have low stats which are not enough to fulfill roles other than being an attacker.

Although it yes, it would be better if Mystic also take into account the utility when placing these 10 mons in order. But I believe he emphasized stats, after all a fragile mons can only survive for a narrow time window.
I really think they need to make moves like Toxic and earthquake less widely available in gen 9. Considering there are many Pokémon where it makes no sense that they’d be able to learn these moves.
I love liepard, and absol, and I like Skuntank and Sableye and Cacturne. I could probably find more competitive use for any of them getting a little bit creative than alolan persian, but even as a fan of all those mons I'll be the first to admit they can be a struggle to work with, as weak as it is to fire and ground I'd argue bisharp is way better than all of them and weavile is way faster, and umbreon, while limited, is wayy tankier too. Also I love mighteyena but I can agree with it's placement. It's stats are... meh at best and it doesn't have enough coverage to deal with fighting bug or fairy types. It never has outside of poison fang. So it only really helps against psychic and ghosts. It gets no stab on anything it has coverage for aside of that.
I wish GameFreak give my kitty Liepard an evolution and an regional form in "Scarlet" and Violet, it's my favorite Unova Pokemon and it reminds me of my extremely friendly but devious Tabby cat who i absolutely adored, she even has the same name as the first version, her name was Scarlett.

Having a good special attacker with almost exclusively physical moves (and vice versa) is the cruelest trick pokemon has ever done.

I'm thinking ahead a bit, and I think Bug->Rock->Steel-Ground is the way to go because Ground beats both of Fairy's weakness and Fighting, Fire, Grass, Water, Psychic and Ice have all been covered.
Morpeko is surprisingly good and saying it's weird or doesn't have good bulk aren't valid reasons to say that it's bad and I also believe Liepard is criminally underrated
Fairy-type next! Then we can do Poison, then Steel, Ground, Flying and Rock, then finish up with Bug and last but not least, Dragon.

But low stats is fragile and easily KOed. Regarding utility, that is up to debate whether the overall strenght should be determined by including that.
However, regarding not being an attacker means other stats have to give enough justification for its usage. Ferrothorn and walls are not attacker but they compensate with other remarkable stats. I think in the video, most of the mons have low stats which are not enough to fulfill roles other than being an attacker.

@@Dragonstorm1234 Literally every mons can serve as utility, but the question is which one is proficient, and which one is not. Although it yes, it would be better if Mystic also take into account the utility when placing these 10 mons in order. But I believe he emphasized stats, after all a fragile mons can only survive for a narrow time window.

I really think they need to make moves like Toxic and earthquake less widely available in gen 9. Considering there are many Pokémon where it makes no sense that they’d be able to learn these moves.
I love liepard, and absol, and I like Skuntank and Sableye and Cacturne. I could probably find more competitive use for any of them getting a little bit creative than alolan persian, but even as a fan of all those mons I'll be the first to admit they can be a struggle to work with, as weak as it is to fire and ground I'd argue bisharp is way better than all of them and weavile is way faster, and umbreon, while limited, is wayy tankier too. Also I love mighteyena but I can agree with it's placement. It's stats are... meh at best and it doesn't have enough coverage to deal with fighting bug or fairy types. It never has outside of poison fang. So it only really helps against psychic and ghosts. It gets no stab on anything it has coverage for aside of that.
