Hello Helen, Yes it's me again. 😁 I am really loving these alternate material videos. Even though they are similar to watercolours it's still beautiful to watch how to use them. I bought the Inktense pallet some time ago and it's sitting in my cart looking at me yelling out "OI, I am down here, use me." I wasn't sure what you could do with them. I was thinking about Pen and Ink drawings. Haven't got there yet. 🤣. It is lovely to see how vibrant they are and how little you need and yet again you did an amazing job showing how versatile this medium is. You can use it bold and/or delicately. You are amazing x
Aww thank you. I really enjoyed working with them and have just finished filming another one. It won’t launch for a few weeks yet but keep an eye out x

I work a lot with the Derwent Inktense, I have al the 72 colors in pencils and blocks. I love to learn more on how to use them. Thanks for your tutorials!
What I am learning from you is patience. I even do some yoga and breathing exercises before I sit down to paint now. I have a nice hot cup of tea next to me and I take time to stop and sip it before it gets cold. That way my layers dry and I’m not sitting there idle and impatient 🤣 I ordered some of these Inktense pencils and can’t wait to try them. Your instruction is spot on-how to gently apply the pigment to the paper. These are definitely not like colored pencils, which I love. They are a whole new medium. More fun to be had.🥳🎉
thank you very much Cathy - and I love your idea of a cuppa in between washes (note to self to go make one now lol) - I am so glad that you find the tutorials useful - we do have an Inktense playlist so do take a look x
I am so happy that I have discovered your talented art. I have had most colours of inktense for about 7 years, and they’ve been sitting idle. I am now inspired, and will enjoy following you and being inspired. Many thanks Helen.
Hello Helen, I just found you botanical painting. Recently I found Derwent Inktense pencils and blocks. It was very interesting watching how you created the various layers, very helpful indeed. I never thought about doing a small swatch to use as a pallet to work from, I'll do that from now on. Thank you so much I'll look for more of your videos for sure. 🫶

Thank you so much for these techniques! Pushing the color to the line instead of pulling it out makes a huge difference in the edges. Pulling color from the swatches is also very helpful, for single colors and for mixing. I've found mixing is the most challenging thing with my limited number of Inktense pencils (12). I'm falling in love with them now. I would really like to see you use Inktense with a water brush, please.
This is so absolutely gorgeous! I would love to try this and I think i will. It’s beautiful Rae! Thank you for the inspiration ❤ and I would love to see more Inktense tutorials. I love these pencils!
