This game looks appealing and there's a somberness to the tone (obviously all apocalypse games are somber but there's more to it here) and this makes it seem more personal and easier to connect to the main character. Sadly I am an xbot so I couldn't get this game
My game of the year, brilliant ! Do yourself a favour when playing this game do not fast travel you will miss so much. I would compare it to The Last of Us it's that good maybe even better. The story had me hooked from beginning to end it an old fashioned Love Story of one man trying to find the one he loves and it is heartbreaking in places. This game was planned to Dead by sjws because how dare we have a white male Hero if you don't believe me just check out the IGN review on this game absolute cringe wordy stuff, someone's Gonna write a book one day about the last couple of years of political correctness an it ain't going to be kind to the people that damaged movies and video games and other media with the puritan ideas of how the world they think should be. Right now we're living in a vacuous anti culture with points of lights like this game and movies like the Joker and comedians like Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais.
I read the IGN review, and it seems to contradict what your saying. Quoting from the IGN article, "For a gruff biker dude traveling through a zombie-infested (okay, they’re technically virus-infected humans called Freakers, but functionally the same thing) Oregon, Deacon St. John is an endearingly gentle and sweet-natured protagonist. His gruff charm and unassuming ‘I ain’t no leader’ demeanor is mostly well voiced by Sam Witwer (AKA Darth Maul on Star Wars: The Clone Wars), aside from moments where he inexplicably yells during stealth missions and an occasional tendency to over-act in more frantic sequences." and "Sadly, Deacon’s charisma and bitchin’ bike aren't enough to carry Days Gone story, which is clumsily handled". For being outraged about having a white male hero, they seemed to like him.
I bought, sold and bought this game again and it finally clicked. I get it. I love this game.

I agree, this game is just as good if not better then TLOU.
