- Hello everyone! In this video I'm restoring headlights on a 2015 VW Jetta. These vehicles can sometimes be difficult to restore to restore, but luckily the clear coat was pretty deteriorated, even thought it appears near.
I started with a 320 to remove the stubborn clear coat, then removed the deeper scratches with 400. Once I felt it was ready, I moved onto the 600 to finish before applying the clear coat.

Excellent job once again keep it up . Where can I find the sand paper ?

Hello, Brad. I'm a new NextGen customer! Your videos are great! I have a question. While I much prefer using your clear coat, I still on occasion revert to my former preferred technique using spar urethane, especially when a potential customer wants something cheaper. This morning, I used spar but was not happy with the results and promised my customer I'd redo the job with clear coat. The vehicle was a Toyota Highlander, and the results unsatisfactory - cloudy and blurred. Wondered if you might have a possible explanation?
Hie is it possible to do a video of a car that you did in past maybe year or 2 ago.
Just to see how promising the product is.
And some steps that people at home could take to keep their lights shiny for long.!
Hello! Yes, I posted on not too long ago th-cam.com/video/WR8BvSNjI_s/w-d-xo.html. It really varies on the customer on how long it last. I've done some from 3+ years ago. Excessive car washing, sitting in the sun etc can cause it to go out faster, same issues that cause the original clearcoat to haze up.
I did a 2016 Land Rover the other day and they were like concrete! Had to strip the entire factory clear off. Looked great in the end but it was hard.
Oooo thats our top most expensive customer we've ever heard a quote from. They said $4500 a headlight not installed. What did you charge?
@@StartRestoringHeadlights $80
@@StartRestoringHeadlights if I do another one it will be $150.
@@bobby-gs9wn I was going to say, those are super expensive to replace, no using toothpaste on that lol

Hey brother! Thanks for your videos! 2 questions for you. I just bought 4 cans of your clear coat. How much of a discount with your course will we get on the cans? Second Q did you develop this clear coat? Very good product!
Hi Max! Its a little early for me to say, but we're aiming for 25% off all clear coat and sand paper for those who purchase the course. No, I sourced a company that manufactures clear coat specifically designed for polycarbonate. The course is going to come with a lot of other tools that are pretty valuable for day to day business operations too.
@@StartRestoringHeadlights My son is starting the business and I have been helping him get the ball rolling. The method he has been using is a little more tedious but he's been getting good results with it. He wanted to try your method and see which one he prefers. He might use both systems who knows. We are in NorCal btw
@@MaximumRC_ Thats awesome! Its such a good business to be in! Especially to start young and get the experience. @@StartRestoringHeadlights thanks I have been using McGuires headlight restore. Love it but always looking for maybe something better, but it’s hard to beat.
I also know about the heat and humidity being from southeast Texas.
@@advosetexas7988 I used to use the McGuires method, but since it only last about a year, and requires more prep time. For me, it wasn't worth being in the sun for the extra 30 minutes to an hour lol
