All the Nepali folks out there living in america who joined or will join US military... I want to say that we have a reputation, ethnic culture, and moral obligation to hold the torch of gorkhali tradition.. Do not be act like your contemporary in U S army. We act strong, we train, we don't play chicken on PT tests, we act like a man and do not make fake documents or symptoms to get the disability pay... No matter what our current fitness level is, we work hard to get back the real army fitness. We are the brand..., we don't say no to any difficult task given in army.. Army is our pride, the benefits are just byproducts... I hate when i see young nepali folks dragging around in the us army , unable to pass tests, always looking for disability pay ... making look our gorkhali reputation embarrassed. I wish you good luck to hold the torch high...
i just came 6 months ago in the us and i m 23 yrs. I gave asvab test where i scored above 100 in every section. So i was illegible to each and every MOS in the army. I wanted to join intel but the requirement was must be us citizen. I didn't get that MOS. So i choosed 68 Whiskey. One of the top 4 hardest and second largest MOS in us army. Currently I m in fortsam huston texas for AIT. Lots of medical stuffs, cool stuffs. But EMT phase pissed me off still i made it just two weeks ago.🎉 Fukin its like an infantry training all the day in the sun. So after ait i hope would not get stationed in infantry unit. From today i have 2 months to be graduated. 68Whiskey you will be drained, they break you, they smoke you! 5 days pt + running, You got to carry 200pound in the field and if you injure yourself damn either recycle or reclass. And if don't behave and don't pass the test you are dephased to black phase. But the best part you learn cool stuffs, after the army you get job in hospital. You can pursue nurshing course like Registered nurse, Anasthetic nurse, it courses.
The best thing is if you just want to do regular army its easy but if you want to go beyond Regular and join special forces go for navy seal, green beret, force RECON etc. Regular army does just 10% training of these special forces. But you got to be real Captain America to join special forces: smart, intelligent, physically tough 10 miles run daily, weapon export, good in computers, learn one language among russian, arabic, chinese. These special forces conducts training for more than a year, one of the toughest trainning in the world. And you should max out every event in acft. Navy seal did conducted the operation to kill Binladen in 2011/2012.
If you are interested, you can always find one in your town or there are so many Nepalese recruiters around , I can help you find one. Just let me know.
