This has me so emotional. I'm currently eating anti-inflammatory for pain management and I have a very limited whole food list that I can eat from every day. I know that what I'm eating is better for me, but it is certainly not easy work. Like you, Jay, I am the primary meal maker in the house and I also feel guilty when I don't make everything from scratch for my partner's lunch etc. But something I've discovered is that if I am able to make 90% of my meals the healthiest I can made from the best ingredients I can find, that is still an effort worth making. We have to give ourselves grace every now and then and that's okay. Thank you for the video ☺️

I’m in the process of researching reputable organic companies so I can provide some guidance in a follow up video and WOW it’s incredibly disappointing. There aren’t many. I agree with you that the effort is still worth making. Honestly one healthy meal a day is better than none. Thank you for watching!! Best of luck to you on your health journey, friend ❤️

Dont beat yourself up, excercise and get a good mindset going so you can buffer yourself against eating a crappy meal every now and then

Great points about glyphosate and such! I agree, you can’t un-know some of this stuff. Like all eggs sold commercially in the US are dipped in chlorine (which infiltrates the shell and the embryo). Any baking mix you ever buy in a box at the grocery store, if it has egg already in it- the eggs are discards, the bloody/dirty/misshapen/cracked/not good to sell in a dozen kind. They mix the discards together and sell it off to various companies for liquid eggs or baking mixes.
It makes me want chickens or quail. I found someone down the road about 5 mins away who will sell me their eggs. It is less convenient though. But I can’t un- know the eggs thing. So here we are.

:O I had no idea about the eggs!! I have a video about making your own baking mixes. Thank God I have started doing that because YUCK!!! I probably would’ve learned that if I had delved deeper into the animal product side of this conversation. It’s too much info to digest at one time.

Thank you so much. This is exact what I’m trying to get away from because of my autoimmune thyroid and arthritis and anxiety. Everything I learn, the less I want to buy. When they say grass fed, they don’t usually say the grass wasn’t sprayed but I found out it was. It was sprayed with chemically treated HUMAN waste and sprayed onto the grass as a fertilizer and onto the hay and straw fields around me. It’s so true that you can’t unlearn it and I just not want any part of it. I don’t even buy baby carrots because they run them through some kind of chemical that removes the skin. 🤷🏼‍♀️ You’re doing great with helping us to learn more. Everyone helping each other learn is so precious and so caring ❤

@@gardenstatesowandsew they’re using HUMAN waste as a fertilizer???? It doesn’t get anymore disgusting than that! It makes you not want to eat at all! I guess all we can do is keep trying to do our best.

This is one of my favorite videos!! Very thought out and oh so true. We have been working towards self sufficiency for many years and this is why! It is definitely not cheaper to provide for ourself but knowing what is in your food is so very important and the MOST important. The health issues in our family that we feel have come from the metals, chemicals & hormones in our food & pharmaceuticals prompted becoming healthier and cleaner eating. Less processed foods. We have chickens for eggs & meat, my family hunts for venison, goats for milk (dairy, soap, etc), garden for vegetables & herbs and an orchard for fruits. Cheap? 😆 🤣 😂 but we have chosen to see the wealth of HEALTH. The feeling of controlling what goes into our bodies. Excellent content, Jay!

The wealth of health is an excellent way to put it!! I like that. I am so happy you guys have made so many moves towards self sufficiency. It’s a journey, for sure. I garden and have my girls for eggs. That’s it so far. But every little bit helps! You’ve been a supporter of my channel for a long time and I appreciate you very much!
