Game is overpriced, but only because 70 dollars floor price and 20 more for digital deluxe is unjustified for any game today. Yes, even those ones. Yes, really. No regional pricing is also a dick move, but Square-Enix has been doing that with everything. Not the game's fault. But you know what, it's at least worth a full 60. It's janky, but runs better than a lot of AAA releases nowadays. It's a complete goddamn single-player game with the DLC being additional content that comes before the main game, not stuff ripped out to sell back to you. It doesn't have bullshit microtransactions and apparently will be getting NG+ post launch. More importantly, other than the sticker price being subject to Square-Enix nonsense, the underlying game is pretty damn good. Performance issues? Absolutely. Here's hoping they get patched. But this is already a better game than Cyberpunk at launch. It's fun, not egregiously buggy, the systems work well other than some issues with XP grinding and the equipment buffs not being significant enough (which is literally a matter of numbers being raised, easy fix), the combat is fluid and intuitive, the open world is solidly designed and great to move around in... Really, it just needs performance and balance patches to be a rock solid game. As for the writing, it's fine. It's not a masterpiece, but it's fine. The characters are written believably for their situation, generally. Pacing is a bit messy, but it's at least average at worst, and sometimes actually good. Voice acting is great. Graphics... Are actually pretty good when they work. When the game isn't unloading textures because of the spaghetti code, it looks great - skin details are incredible, faces look distinct and like actual regular people rather than anime characters or supermodels. Music isn't the most amazing but it's not bad either. Art design is actually pretty dope. The open world has a reason to be empty, but it at least makes "empty" look pretty good. People gave Cyberpunk 9s on release and the yearly AssCreeds higher than this, even though it's actually a better game than the ACs after Origins. Really now...
@BloodOf Shadows crag grass is rarer. The most common ones I know respawn. The stuff you find many clustered together. The uncommon and rare stuff probably not honestly or it's a long respawn time. Mana pools most likely do not respawn at all. Unless...(and I'm not far enough to check this yet) if you go from one main region to another then back later some may respawn I dunno 🤷
I’m at end game and have almost 3000 mana and have never had any problem obtaining resources… one thing to remember in this game is where you gather certain plants because they do grow in specific areas(when you find some in an area keep searching because there’s a ton more around)
@@georgejones5019 performance could be tightened up but does that make it a 6? The dialog and story seems like it depends on personal preference. Some people liked it some people didn’t. A majority liked the combat and traversal.

Just purchased this game after all the hate disappeared glad I did the voice acting is not as cringe as the majority of reviewer's claim it to be just not the best but serviceable the game play is simply fun addicting and fluid the world is cool most definitely not boring to traverse and overall really enjoying it almost done waiting on the dlc
Magic parkour, tapping regular attack 3 times then holding, and immediately holding r2 after a support spell, all immediately put your attack spells into level 3.
Personally I love Forspoken in spite of its flaws. It really shines in raw mechanics especially with combat and movement but it feels like they prioritized raw mechanics over story and characters. While I am fine with that I can see why some people would be turned off by that. I don’t think it’s anywhere near as bad as the reviews say in that regard just mediocre. If I was rating it purely off mechanics it would be an easy 8 or 9 but the flaws drag it down to a 6 or 7.
Honestly I feel like they could learn from their mistakes and just make a better story next time. Maybe even a new character to sort of have a fresh restart. I'd assume it wouldn't be impossible to use the same world or end up in another world rather

From all the other reviews I'm glad I saved my cash. Glad you're enjoying it, but i's not for me. The game world looks bland, empty. Not very next Gen when you look at other titles like AC Valhalla, Cyberpunk, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Ghosts of Tsushima etc.
The game world looks bland, so is AC Valhalla, CP, Zero dawn and they are all repetitive. Played and completed those, I can’t even bother to explore fully the maps as it’s all the same stuff repetitive and bland.
Great review but your pronunciation of the word Belfry is killing me. I find that there is some words gamers can't pronounce in every game. Belfry like french fry!
You gotta remember, on ps and Xbox this game is just average so if it looks cools it might be worth it. On pc this game is horrible and unacceptable, at the end of the day that is the reason for the hate.
The hate campaign will be over in a month or two once the clicks decrease. Videos about how good the game is will emerge. And the view counts on videos like this will increase dramatically.
Bad optimization, Forspoken's graphics do not justify the specs it's asking for on the PC. Hogwarts Legacy runs circles around it graphically, and it has a lower spec requirement.
This game isn't _nearly_ as bad as people like to say. Sure it's got it's rough spots, *every game does,* but it's still enjoyable. Not saying this to justify spending a ridiculous $70 on it either because I got it for $30 "thanks" to all the negativity.

It's called quick charge it's in the tutorial.
The thing is, people irl talk worse then Frey 😂, I am loving the magic spells, i mean come on, it’s magic
Genuine questions thats plaguing my mind; Do resources respawn? Mana Pools, Minerals, Herbs, Do any of them respawn or are there x amount permanently?
Some do, mana pools probably not.
@@mikegregory4386 What about Crag Grass? The upgrade materials? Balm Flax?
This game looks cool to me. Don’t understand it’s getting all the hate on social media
It's poorly optimized. It's poorly written. The controls are awkward. It's also $80.
@@georgejones5019 it's $70
You understand why...
@@georgejones5019 performance could be tightened up but does that make it a 6? The dialog and story seems like it depends on personal preference. Some people liked it some people didn’t. A majority liked the combat and traversal.
@@georgejones5019 "It's poorly optimized. It's poorly written. The controls are awkward. It's also $80."
So it's just like Elden Ring, except Elden Ring barely has a story.
For 17.99 this is way better than I expected I like it
I’ll never understand why this game got so much hate it’s so different then what I’m used I had to got out and get a ps5 to play it. I don’t even like the ps5 but this game is so much fun and entertaining.
I’m having some trouble understanding the animation cancel, does it have to be magical parkour or just running?
Magic parkour, tapping regular attack 3 times then holding, and immediately holding r2 after a support spell, all immediately put your attack spells into level 3.
Mistake 1. Buying the game.
Thanks for helping.
Not many people end up fucking doing this they Haye on it half the time.
Thanks for just enjoying and helping.
@@TheFool12-12 a prequel taking place during the war sounds pretty cool and they have a basic foundation. A lot of people just hopped on the hate train rather than giving it a fair chance.
@Alice Hiess yeah I've noticed that a ton lately with games. Half the movies that come out nowadays especially woke crap tend to deserve all the hate they get but people are just overly critical of every game that comes out nowadays. Nobody can seem to enjoy anything unless it feels like crack to them.
@@TheFool12-12 i did feel like 70 dollars was a bit much for what the game offered but i think 50 dollars is perfectly reasonable if your the type of gamer who focuses heavily on the mechanical aspects of games like me. It's one of the reasons why i like the souls series so much. It focuses heavily on gameplay and lets you choose whether or not to engage with the story and lore.
@Alice Hiess yeah would've been fair to have it at 50 but honestly I'd like to say 70 is still too much for any game. I mean games are still 60 bucks on PC I'm pretty sure right?
This is a great game I enjoy playing it.
Dialog is terrible, but can be reduced a bit or just skipped, price is worth $40 max, but game is no where near as terrible as these idiots in the comments make it seem.
Good stuff this game really deserves some respect! The combat and traversal systems are so unique. So glad to hear they got dlc coming looks really good
1 ) buying the game 2) playing it
Yes
hahaahahah
100% it’s utter shit lol
Absolutely
Hell yeah same
Just subbed great play and build waiting to see what else you have and may steal a couple tips from u.
Imagine buying a game and trying it for yourself rather then listening to others. So many people just jumping on the hate train because they're a bunch of sheep
Definitely the first video that was not all negative and after reading the comments i will give it a try looks pretty cool and I like exploring every corner
Here comes the hate bandwagon
Its insane. I understood it for Saints Row cause that game was buggy as hell but this game isnt broken. Its just got some design flaws that some dont care cause theyre having fun more.
I expected better from this community but i guess the trolls are just rampant on launch days
@@royalwarlord2342 yes everyone else’s fault save the devs who took your money. Got it

Yes we do.

Fun game for holding 4 buttons for basically everything.. 😂
1st mistake was getting this game lol
But can I transfer my cloak upgrades to a better one later on..🤣🤣
Great review love this game 🎮
Whats the update for the game about today
Game is great
I went to have a look on Steam at this and they're charging £64.99 for the BASIC game, £89.98 if you want the deluxe version. Are they fucking crazy?!
thank u!
I've been playing this game and I'm glad to see an overview that's not negative. I've been having fun exploring the big open world of Athia! While the writing is just meh, the gameplay and battles are great!
I've been having a blast with this game. So thrown off by all these angry reviews. It's like I'm playing a completely different game from them.
Me watching this video not owning the game: 🧐
I find myself grumbling “STFU!” anytime she says something. I can’t stand their bickering but I wish there was a spell to zip her mouth. I understand it’s her adolescent mentality for the script but when it’s the same several lines repeating repeatedly repeated, it’s gets repetitive… as if the game wasn’t repetitive enough. Latecomer to the game (it was never on sale until recently!) but I’m enjoying it so far! Just got Sila’s power 💥 but I was able to immediately max upgrade all the spells with what I’ve got. Is that normal?
Nice. First flop 2023.
lets hope Final Fantasy 16 will be better - like WAY better.
The biggest mistake you can make is buying this POS, wish I listened to reviews
From all the other reviews I'm glad I saved my cash. Glad you're enjoying it, but i's not for me. The game world looks bland, empty. Not very next Gen when you look at other titles like AC Valhalla, Cyberpunk, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, Ghosts of Tsushima etc.
Horizon zero dawn is last gen and this game is very next gen looking, it just has everything else wrong with it.
Horizon zero dawn is last gen and this game is very next gen looking, it just has everything else wrong with it.
Elden Ring is also bland and empty... At least this combat is more entertaining
The game world looks bland, so is AC Valhalla, CP, Zero dawn and they are all repetitive. Played and completed those, I can’t even bother to explore fully the maps as it’s all the same stuff repetitive and bland.
@@cruzanassassin Are you trying to say this piece of shit is better than Elden Ring?
Great review but your pronunciation of the word Belfry is killing me. I find that there is some words gamers can't pronounce in every game. Belfry like french fry!
You gotta remember, on ps and Xbox this game is just average so if it looks cools it might be worth it. On pc this game is horrible and unacceptable, at the end of the day that is the reason for the hate.
The hate campaign will be over in a month or two once the clicks decrease. Videos about how good the game is will emerge. And the view counts on videos like this will increase dramatically.
Graphic looks terrible but need rtx???
Bad optimization, Forspoken's graphics do not justify the specs it's asking for on the PC. Hogwarts Legacy runs circles around it graphically, and it has a lower spec requirement.
What is with all the negativity around this game? This is the only video I have seen that’s positive and it looks great.
& I STRONGLY recommend that you DONT turn on “auto spell switch” unless you just want to spam the enemy without… ya know using tactics lol
1st is that you even just bought this game
This game isn't _nearly_ as bad as people like to say. Sure it's got it's rough spots, *every game does,* but it's still enjoyable.
Not saying this to justify spending a ridiculous $70 on it either because I got it for $30 "thanks" to all the negativity.
First mistake is buying the game
Honestly the game i de isn't that bad. I bought it for 20$
stop whining about what others are doing. you complain about everyone hacking on hogwarts but you do the same thing with this game hmmm so this means you are as woke as them. let people buy and play what they want and stop telling them what they can't buy and or should play.hate this behavior

Mistake No.1 ... buying the game.
Mistake number one:
Purchasing this game
(Generic game bad comment with witty reference to title)

I don't have the game so how can I be making these mistakes
The big mistake you can make is to buy this game
The dialouge is almost unbearable and graphics are meh but damn combat and traversing has me just zipping around and playing around with skills for hours.
Mistake number 1: Buying the game at its current price.
Thanks for all the tips! Can't wait to not use them because I'm not buying the game!
Top 1 Huge MISTAKES You're Making Right Now. DO NOT PLAY THIS DOO DOO GAME!
I hope this comment was based off your own personal preferences, biases, prejudices, rationality and not simply being a content creators echo-chamber who said the game was doo doo.
You sound like a 5 year old child.
@@CLARENCErr Naw, aint wasting my precious time on this dumpster fire. You do You though😆
@@CLARENCErr need your diaper changed?
This game definitely has mixed reviews. Most reviewers don't like it because of the dialogue. Most gamers like it because the gameplay and combat is very good and find the dialogue/story to be subjective. Glad you know your just a sheep
To be fair, if you bought a game with so many issues at $70, you already made the biggest mistake possible.
Worst game of 2023.
It really isn't... But I realize there's a group of you that don't want devs to make a game with a main character like this anymore, so you are going on every video trying to sway public opinion by exaggerating a game you haven't played... I'm playing it and I like it... You know... Because I have a mind of my own
@@cruzanassassinI think this is the FIRST ever game with a black woman as a mc in a triple A game… So there are no other main characters like “this” either
@@megamanx1291 that's my point... They don't want them to do it again
@RS H hahahahhaha exactly, they thought WRONG
@rsh4599 this isn't remotely true... There's 100 games with white people, then 1 or 2 with POC get released, and some white ppl get like: "EVERY GAME HAS BLACKS" 😂
Honestly if you’ve actually bought this game nothing can help you now
