    Roy Clark was amazing. Our dad took us to see him in the 80s to a completely packed audience. Yet today, I don’t hear him talked about all that much. His talent is unmatched so I’m not sure why that is.

      I met a man who is about our age & wants to learn to play acoustic guitar. He has no musical background other than appreciation. He would like to start with TH-cam videos in the privacy of his own home rather than lessons at this time. Given all that ; will you make a recommendation on finding an online “coach” like you are for me on the banjo?

    • @JimPankey

      I do one similar to the last one but instead of the full A chord I use a C# demolished (or A7th). Strings 1 & 2 barred on 5th fret, 3rd string on 6th fret, then D7, then 5, 1&2 open for the G. Kind of a counterpoint thingy.
      Thanks again Jim! Been looking for all of these!

    Jim! Your house is haunted! At 1:12, there is an apparition of a lady with a spectral cat that you can see reflected in the picture on the wall! Some transcendent banjo, indeed! All joking aside, Thanks, Jim....this is awesome stuff. Nice to spruce up those endings. Keep the vids comin', banjo-brother. Not sure if you have done a lesson on Silver Eagle. I think you played it on one of your live streams....Just in case you get bored and need some ideas on videos. See ya around!

    I’m a beginner and I was wondering if it’s weird that I wear my finger picks the opposite way that you do. I wear them with the point facing the ground. Should I change that before I continue practicing?

    Hey Jim, I've wanted to learn a particular ending lick that Roy Clark uses in his version of duelling banjos (th-cam.com/video/47NPOkNqANQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CVjqHYMr-SgsF61-&t=216) and black mountain rag (th-cam.com/video/5j2RNPKpWis/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3QWwgmTHXpLoZ4tQ&t=111) but I can't seem to find a lesson or tab for it anywhere. I would appreciate it if you could work it out and make a lesson on it, thanks!

    • @JimPankey
      @JimPankey  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, that's a pretty cool idea. I'd have to sort it out. Maybe I can get to that in the not too distant future. I think, though, that ending is actually one of Buck Trent's. Either way - super cool.
