Great interview with Frank, he's so knowledgable and smart. I too feel sad about how Strikeforce was bullied and abused. This org has had some historic fights which we should never forget.

Frank Shamrock fought at LHW, never cut weight. He left as the Undefeated LHW CHAMPION. Because he didn't cave into Dana White he remains left out of the UFC Hall of Fame. The man is a true legend of MMA and a great guy.

I don't think newer fans really appreciate Frank's contribution as a pioneer. He was one of, if not the first, true Mixed Martial Artist. Before Frank, MMA was more a style battle, wrestler vs kickboxer, Jui Jitsu vs Judo, etc. After Frank, MMA was about becoming a complete fighter competing against other complete fighters. The UFC hall of fame is ridiculous and Frank's absence is only proof of the joke.

when I started watching mma in 1999, Frank Shamrock and Robbie Lawler were the baddest men in the whole world

I think he was stating a genetic predisposition to alcoholism (addiction), and mis-spoke.

If the UFC wants to be recognized as a main sport they need to treat the guys who built this sport with their heart and bodies like the Hall of Faimers they are. Frank Shamrock should slap the shit out of Dana White.

I loved strike force more than any other mma org. I have not watched mma like I did since it went away. I still buy any diaz brother fight but that's about it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few less Fuel and FX cards, and giving the airtime and new fighters to Strikeforce. Nobody should enter UFC straight from beating cans. Strikeforce should be that farm league/buffer zone where mid-tier guys go until they get a win or two and prove themselves worthy. It would make their UFC debut a much bigger deal.

Its my genetics. That's why I drink myself into oblivion. So it's not really my fault. Also I'm obese, not from bad eating habits but from genetics.

i think he means he never lost the belt.. he vacated it, so he was undefeated as a champion.
