Well its about to change, they are revamping the ENTIRE recoil system. Soem people hate it and some like it, but one thing is that pf will never be the same after its released
i love the game purely because of it's massive collection of guns that i would've never known existed and also the amount of customization combinations with attachments
Been playing the game since 2016 and the core gameplay has not changed even a bit. The childlike community, the bugs,... they still stay the same for all of these years; to the point where i got bored of it and somewhat stopped playing completely and then come back just to grind a few more ranks knowing you have no more guns to unlock. The game has become a love-hate relationship that the more you hate it, the more you stick to it.

I started playing roblox around mid to late 2018 I found phantom forces curios on what the gameplay could be, i was shocked by how polished and nice the gameplay was back then even now... i lost my account early 2019 i was a rank 23 when i did I recovered my account back around early to mid 2021, playing the game again gave me nostalgia and seeing the game even more polished and rounded put a tear in my eye Here i am... a rank 136 who plays casually, returning back to the game from time to time I thank you Lightbox for re-igniting my spark and joy to play the game again I thank you...

Think about it, StyLis did games right. They never lost their vision for the game. They didn't succumb to being moneyhungry and making random overstimulating shit like what happens to some great games like Zo. They never got money hungry, they stayed passionate, and they kept their vision. StyLis made a fun game, making them in my eyes one of the last true _Game Studios_ out there.
in all fairness when tampered handed zo over to voldex, it was all over pre-voldex i'd imagine it would stay as a game that kept its vision, but since voldex is a money hungry company... man. its so over
Yeah, that's my biggest issue with modern PF. The conversions are a cool idea, but the cost for them is so extreme. 3,000 kills just to change a few stats is ridiculous.

The names of the creators/sources of the footage seems very minimal, but it's kind of sad to see that most of the people that were making videos about this game to be gone and doing other things. They really brought a new community even way back 2017.
I started playing this game when I was in high school, sort of an escape from playing CS:GO and high school itself (at the time I was trying to start an e-sport career on CSGO albeit it didn't go well and ended up sim racing now instead) but looking back to when this game was in its infant stage, it all felt like opening a box of nostalgia.
It has been 2 and a half years (I started in January 2021) and this game has evolved so much from when I started. It is crazy that it still has a decent player count.
I began to stop playing in late 2017. I gave it until 2020 before I though it would be completely dead. So yes. It is indeed crazy that it still holds decent numbers.

The game was far more enjoyable in 2016-2018 then it is now, they nerfed nearly all of the starter guns so much that it is hard to play when you are a fresh spawn. Major flip of fun for me what either the user-base getting far better at the game, or me just degrading in ability. Not to mention some of the map reworks are not too great either, and lots of hackers in random lobbies. And I hate what they did to the M4A1, they nerfed it so much that it is angering, plus it didn't move attachments over from the original M4.
I feel the same however I started playing PF in 2019 and this time was the best as for me. And you are absolutely right, players literally became jumping monkeys that oneshot you with ultra cursed weapon (and you can also see how players change through years in the video) and nowadays this game is unplayable.
@@gt-r3190 they should really get rid of the leap jumping, sliding is ok 👌, the jumping 10 feet while prone is insane and leads to the game becoming a mess. So it really needs to be more grounded like it used to, with slightly slower movement and slightly faster vaulting. Tbh at this point phantom forces is the Call of Duty to Battlebit’s Battlefield clone. The developers of PF are probably getting sick of working on the same game for the last 10 years, so I doubt they will fix the issues or do any changes as extreme as I layed out.

I still get a positive KD, I just don't enjoy the overzealous moving mechanics that can leap people 20 feet away. Also the "limitless skill ceiling in everything" is only people who sit on their cheap amazon PC's for 4 thousand hours purposely ruining people's fun in the game by using the most OP and toxic weapons. 2016 to 2017 were the best pf years imo, the rogue one event with that moon base map to the game literally having a new feel by the summer update to the melee update
I was in my bag during 2020 to 2021 fr 🔥🔥 One of my biggest regrets was taking a long break from this game. Once I came back I wasn’t even able to enjoy the game really. I tried a couple times to go back but kinda lost interest from time to time, especially with how the game was kinda favoring more toward newer players, although most of it was a lack of skill so I guess you can say it was a skill issue. Now I’ve gone back to it and I’m slowly but surely getting back to my “normal” skill level. Maybe I’ll see some of y’all in game.
Phantom Forces was me and my friends game back in 2016-2017 I got to 67 and at the time I was like the big guy with no life when I entered the lobby and dropped 35-3 adv with Famas. Started again recently and it’s nice to see how much has improved and the funny attachments like oil filter suppressor. Makes me glad I spent so much time to unlock so much years ago and not have to pay 15$ for battlebit and start from 0 grind

This game will forever hold a special place in my heart, but my playtime dropped big time in late 2017, and now I hardly even touch it anymore. It's not that fun, little, quirky, Roblox FPS game anymore. It's not the games fault, or the developers. I blame the toxic community (exploiters, smurfs, trolls, the sort). The toxicity drove me away, and probably a lot of other OG players as well.
Man I remember back in December 2017 when everyone was Hunting the Rail Gun, liked once you got your hands on it you were basically trying to survive from the onslaught There was also a Free Gear if you played the space mode and this is when Crates were finally put to public use
It's just sad to see how great and how fun and simple was PF back in 2017-2018, and how bad the messed up the game after that period. Everything was perfect back then, the gunplay, actually usable and visible sights, great and simple maps... and then they decided to constantly push worse and worse updates... If only we could get a 2017-2018 version of the game and improve from there...
it's sad you never included the 2020/2021 Halloween Suburbia map, that was a really cool version of suburbia (I also remember when suburbia was so chaotic in koth, now it's get the hill and spawnkill the other team)

I remember when I first watched your first video on the on evolution of this game. It was back around in 2018-2019 and I wanted to learn more about its history. Back then, I had just started playing the game, after a friend of mine recommended it to me. I wanted to see what times I missed out on. I unfortunately stopped playing back in 2019 due to a virus taking down the PC and me having to refocus on school. Last I remember, I was ecstatic about the Uzi being in the Test Place (I always wanted it in the game). There was also the updated models of the G36 family, and the maps Stilia Residence, Rust Belt, Reservoir, Refinery, Viaduct, Skyrise, Aquarium, Jungle, Blizzard, and Luck (sad to find out that it was removed). Heh, the Desert Eagle L5 used to be the "Deagle 44" and looked just like the Mark XIX. _We Are Young,_ _Counting Stars,_ _Barefoot in the Club,_ and _Early Morning From Tokyo_ are songs I prominently remember the most I used as BGM while playing. I remember the 2019 April Fools event with the CoR5 maps and the Halloween event the same year with the Zombies mode in Stilia Residence. I may not have seen all updates nor played in all April Fools events, but that didn't mean didn't have fun. Luckily, I was able to return to Phantom Forces in September 28, 2024. Seeing this video feels exactly like how I watched the first evolution video back then - just started playing PF, sees history of the game, gets amazed. Thank you for your efforts and thank you for making this video.

This was actually my first roblox game and I feel so much nostalgia by watching this. Phantom forces will hold a very special place in my heart :)

I miss the old days of pf from playing it and experiencing it evolve was good i enjoyed those years
i played since 2018,absolutely sweated in it,then as time go by i slowly stopped playing it and now looking back,it brough me back lot of good old memories that i lost.
2016 was the best moment of my life playing this game :)

Phantom Forces is GOAT
This game will forever hold a special place in my heart, but my playtime dropped big time in late 2017, and now I hardly even touch it anymore. It's not that fun, little, quirky, Roblox FPS game anymore. It's not the games fault, or the developers. I blame the toxic community (exploiters, smurfs, trolls, the sort). The toxicity drove me away, and probably a lot of other OG players as well.
game also became exponentially sweatier
Man I remember back in December 2017 when everyone was Hunting the Rail Gun, liked once you got your hands on it you were basically trying to survive from the onslaught
There was also a Free Gear if you played the space mode and this is when Crates were finally put to public use

crazy how this game has been out a few months since i even started playing roblox and it's still being developed and improved today
i first remember playing this on the family laptop back in christmas 2016, weird to see how familiar everything is
this video is a masterpiece, and PF should have its own battle royale mode
It's just sad to see how great and how fun and simple was PF back in 2017-2018, and how bad the messed up the game after that period. Everything was perfect back then, the gunplay, actually usable and visible sights, great and simple maps... and then they decided to constantly push worse and worse updates...
If only we could get a 2017-2018 version of the game and improve from there...
2019-2020 was the peak of PF, although i did not player that much back then

it feels like phantom forces didnt change much but at the same time it feels that it changed alot... HOW
it's sad you never included the 2020/2021 Halloween Suburbia map, that was a really cool version of suburbia (I also remember when suburbia was so chaotic in koth, now it's get the hill and spawnkill the other team)
I'm sorry I missed that, I think I wasn't able to find any footage uploaded around then. (I REALLY wish I recorded back then). That map was pretty dang fun.

When i played roblox for the first time didn't know which games i should play
But then i found phantom forces i got hooked immediately since then i've been playing the game for 5 years now amd still love it to this day

I remember when I first watched your first video on the on evolution of this game.
It was back around in 2018-2019 and I wanted to learn more about its history.
Back then, I had just started playing the game, after a friend of mine recommended it to me. I wanted to see what times I missed out on.
I unfortunately stopped playing back in 2019 due to a virus taking down the PC and me having to refocus on school. Last I remember, I was ecstatic about the Uzi being in the Test Place (I always wanted it in the game). There was also the updated models of the G36 family, and the maps Stilia Residence, Rust Belt, Reservoir, Refinery, Viaduct, Skyrise, Aquarium, Jungle, Blizzard, and Luck (sad to find out that it was removed). Heh, the Desert Eagle L5 used to be the "Deagle 44" and looked just like the Mark XIX.
_We Are Young,_ _Counting Stars,_ _Barefoot in the Club,_ and _Early Morning From Tokyo_ are songs I prominently remember the most I used as BGM while playing.
I remember the 2019 April Fools event with the CoR5 maps and the Halloween event the same year with the Zombies mode in Stilia Residence.
I may not have seen all updates nor played in all April Fools events, but that didn't mean didn't have fun.
Luckily, I was able to return to Phantom Forces in September 28, 2024.
Seeing this video feels exactly like how I watched the first evolution video back then - just started playing PF, sees history of the game, gets amazed.

I spent a chunk of my time scouring memories and referring to past records to piece it together.
I used to watch my older brother play this mid 2015-2016 and it was entertaining.
