Sorry for making such a long video, but I wanted to be complete.
Chrysler engineering at it's finest! They designed it so you can't remove one without removing the other, but we have a way to overcome their evil plot!
In this video I show how to replace the alternator, (A job I have done so many times I no longer need to jack up the car to do it, and have it done in less than an hour) and prep the EGR Valve for easy replacement in the future. (and if you have one, you will be replacing it in the future)

Well Done, First person Ive seen use a work around to get off the future EGR valve replacements without having to move the alternator at all but using a "cap screw" with a L wrench.

You didn't have to move the generator. Because the lower nut of EGR.. is easily accessible
    And that's what I do.

I don't see it as "easily accessible" as I can't seat a normal 10mm socket on it. Im wonder if a 1/4 depth 10mm on a swivel will do it. HOW DID YOU do it?

What year the vehicle? I tried replacing the alternator on my 2014 Grand Caravan and couldn't do it due to not enough clearance. I took it to the shop with a lift and they took the job and charged me very little for the job b/c I convinced them that all you do is a lift to remove the alternator from bellow the car. When the job was done they told me if they knew how difficult it was going to be they would not have taken the job . So congrats. on your method of doing it.

This is 2005. It covers 2001-2007 6 cylinder engines.
The 2014 is a completely different vehicle with a Fiat engine. (Need I say more....)

The right sliding door is not electric and makes sounds while driving.. Can you make a video about how to address this vibration?

you never explained the reason for utilizing washers with the new cap screw. What steel is that cap screw? I'm trying to order on Amazon and it's asking if I want it make of Alloy steel or Carbon steel and ofc I found out that bolts near engine requires a "medium carbon Alloy steel" lol. Big fan of your Macguivering this work around.

Thanks for the compliment! Every time I work in that area I thank myself for doing this mod. These are metric cap screws so you want grade 10.9 or grade 12.8, below that is too soft. You use the washer because the head of the cap screw is too small (IMHO), the steel washer will help spread the pressure out on the mating surface. It also acts as a buffer the screw can slide on when tightening.

@@DIYBenzGarage thank you for the response! Okay I understand about washer.
There are some people I have heard that are using a 1/4 sized socket 10mm ofc on a swivel head made by Snapon, suggesting he got the lower bolt with alternator in place. I’m tempted to try it, but still don’t see how it works especially when it starts coming out getting closer to alternator, so leaning toward your plan.
I was thinking about just cleaning DGR with carb cleaner, but now that you said a part wears out on it I guess I will order a new one instead.
      Thanks again!

@@bdmenne I don't see how any socket can get past that, but Chrysler is prone to change components so there may be variations, and some (ie: California Emissions) don't have an EGR valve. Yeah, if you have a code for the EGR, there is no fixing it, you need a new one.

@@DIYBenzGarage sorry to bother you. Ordering washer is turning out more challenging than I expected.
They are asking for the external diameter, thickness. Could you tell me the overall diameter of the washer and its thickness.
      I know I need M8 (8mm) for internal diameter.
      Thanks

@@DIYBenzGaragebelieve I have the right bolts/screws, so ordered washers as well.
      It is M8 x 16 x 1.5mm.
Hope that’s right. If not let me know.
      Thanks again.
