Vitória Alencar I don't know. He voice sounds similar to Stephanie j block to me and Sjb was elphaba. Also are you kidding me her personality is like the exact opposite of Glinda! 😂😂
Watching this 8 months later lol I definitely think she doesn't have the range either, she sounded like she struggled with the higher notes in this song, and I'm not talking about the chorus I'm talking about after modulation. I agree she's more of a Glinda, but I still see what I saw before, but personality and vocally COMPLETELY agree with you.
Sutton is having fun with this, so all of the cranky comments are undeserved. It's obviously not a regular part of the program, or she wouldn't be reading the lyrics.
What a breath of fresh air she is! Her expressions say it all - enjoy what you do and the audience will follow! Bravo, Ms. Sutton. Keep on keeping on!!!!
This version is amazing too! I adore Sutton Foster at every work she does. I just noticed that she didn't wait the piano to finish right before the "So if you care to find me..." part. Am I wrong?

@@cherylmcnutt9905 , have you not heard her in Thoroughly Modern Millie or Anything Goes ? She is an old school belter and light is not what she does 🤷🏽♂️She is as vocally powerful as anyone who has graced a Broadway Stage.
Lord, I wish I could have been in this audience. I lived in Chicago for many years but moved south to get out of the cold and snow. She is SUCH a incredible performer. Carry on, Sutton, and come to visit the Peace Center in Greenville, SC and bring Jonathan Geoff with you. Guaranteed sell-out!
This is an amazing performance. What a versatile and wonderful artist. Of course my only education is in the sciences, not the arts. However I found this totally amazing. 🌹🌹🌹
There are only a few select performers that I would pay to see! Johnny Mathis and Mandy Patinkin were two. Sutton Foster is the next! Sutton, please come to the Peace Center in Greenville, SC, so we can all enjoy your enormous talent!
GURL PLZ. I CAME BECAUSE OF CHRISTOPHER SIEBER SINGING “Things are looking up here in Duloc… AND NO ONE’S GONNA BRING ME DOWN *defying gravity riff* !!!!” No one’s gonna talk about that in shrek the musical
3:26 You know, if the cast if Shrek the Musical had a reunion concert, Christopher Sieber ought to do an awkward pause after singing “And no one’s gonna bring me down” just before “AAAaaaaaAAAAHHHH”
She has an amazing voice, is really talented, and she she’ll always be 100000x better than me. But in my opinion, her voice doesn’t match the character/song.
This version is amazing too! I adore Sutton Foster at every work she does. I just noticed that she didn't wait the piano to finish right before the "So if you care to find me..." part. Am I wrong?

No it isn't!!! It is smack dab in the middle of her range, as she shows here! The reason she hasn't been Elphaba, is because Sutton Foster does not do second casts at this point in her career. She is not a replacement person, she is a star who STARTS with the lead, not to take it over from someone else.
It's definitely not too high for her; she was being silly and as a result didn't enter her belt properly. The upper resonance of her voice is much too clear and powerful for this to be "too high."
I adore Sutton Foster at every work she do. I just noticed that she didn't wait the piano to finish right before the "So if you care to find me..." part. Am I wrong?
Her voice is too horribly squeaky to listen to. But she's not worse than squeaky voiced Idina Menzel who's now suffering from very damaged vocal chords.
WHY hasnt SHe PLaYEd ELPHABa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She would have been insanely good!
Allyson Messina Because her voice is a Glinda, not an Elphaba. Also with her personality "Popular" would be amazing.

Stephanie J Block took over for Sutton foster in Anything Goes years ago. They do have similar vocals. And are both amazing!
Shes the only person I have ever heard sing the climax of this song (Bring me downnn!!) with as much support, resonance, no strain or pitchyness.

Look up Mitch Grasi too
Oh honey try Indina menzel
She barely hit the notes and didnt have more "support" she sang it differently
Pretty sure Lindsay Mendez absolutely smashed that number as Elpheba on a regular basis
Sutton is having fun with this, so all of the cranky comments are undeserved. It's obviously not a regular part of the program, or she wouldn't be reading the lyrics.
She's SO GREAT! I am OBSESSED with Younger. I watch EVERY episode just for HER.
Ben Schaeffer me too!
Same and I find it hilarious when people find out she can sing and dance because they have no idea of her background
I just discovered the show during quarantine and well ended up watching all six seasons
Here’s to June 2020 !!!
Same!
She looks like she would've been a great Halliwell on Charmed
Yess
okay nut how does she make the belting at the end look so freaking easy!?
I'm just imagining her as broadway Elsa now.

I love her she’s so cool and funny
4 people couldn't defy gravity.
4² people couldn't defy gravity
18 people were brought down!
From Bunheads to Younger to discovering she can hit The High note like nothing 3:13

vocally this is far better than idina
Sutton would be a better Glinda
Idina and Sutton have very different voices
I disagree. I like the robustness of Idina’s sound for this part. Sutton would be better with a lighter part.

Why hasn't she ever been Elphaba.
Sarah Lewis she's been Fiona. you can only play one green character. its a rule
This video's a pretty good reason lol
JaKoB Martin is it true? lol
Have Fun with Lance no lmao
Sarah Lewis she said she’s too tall
It pisses me off to no end that she never landed this role.
Never say never! She could definitely still do it
she makes it look so easy!!!
She looks like she’s working her tail off, because she is!
Years have passed since this video but by chance that anyone sees this, what voice placement was she using in every chorus? Was that a mixed voice?
hey I love your channel! do u still happen to have a full recording of the rent anniversary concert? thanks!
Thanks!!!! yep, I do have the concert...
is it still on your channel? I can't seem to find it anywhere
God Sutton Foster is the BEST! love!!!!
Omg!!! This gave me chills!!
wow, so effortless
I’m convinced, there is nothing she cannot do.
Hurts my ears, heard it on satellite radio. Not good song for her. She does well on Anything Goes.
Get over those who find fault! This is pure, wonderful entertainment! Just enjoy.
I’m here because of the younger ❤️
Great performance.
What was she pointing to during “trust my instincts”
Wow I didn't know she could sing very well.. I know she can dance because of bunheads..
Chubi Del Rosario are you serious? sutton has been kicking it on broadway for years
@@thatoneannoyingsoprano8066 this comment is too funny. She is literally one of the best singer in Broadway..
She is a total TRIPLE THREAT
She sings in Bunheads several times though, so if you knew she danced because of Bunheads, you should have known she sings because of Bunheads too.

Sutton Foster NEEDS to play Elphaba
It's way too high for her.
I think she knows that and that's why she's being goofy the whole time. It's such a tough song with so much prestige attached to it.
