This little aria brings back memories. Not of me singing it of course - I'm a bass. But many years ago our tenor went away so we got involved with a local tenor who often sang this piece. He told us he had auditioned for the San Francisco Opera singing this - over the telephone. It must have been OK. He got a live audition with the top guy Kurt Herbert Adler but Adler turned him down. So our friend the tenor punched him out. Many singers around San Francisco knew this story but few remembered his name . He was just called "the guy who punched out Adler". I sang a number of shows wit him but he always made me nervous. He was mad as a hatter - good high notes however.

Well sung, TO ALL PURISTS HE DID GREAT! I PERSONALLY LIKE THE INTERPRETATION OF MANY SINGERS IN MOST ARIAS BUT I DEFENITLY PREFER YOUNG PIPPO. BUT TO EACH HIS OWN IN THE MATTER OF INTERPRETATION. MY SUGGESTION IF YOU LIKE ONE SINGER MORE THAN OTHER DON'T ATACK JUST ENJOY YOUR BEST AND LET THE REST BE1 SPECIALLY IF YOU DON'T SING THEN I SAY SHUT UP, I SING!
Es una ria dififil, pues siempre está en un tono alto. Beczala, se nota termina un poco cansado y ell timbre final no tiene la firmeza que debiera. Fue sólo cuestión de estudiar el aria y sus resperiaciones. Pero considero, bien.
Perdone, pero a mi me parece el más malo que he escuchado. Y desde el comienzo...¿Será que estoy sordo? ¿O que escucho mejor cuando es Pavarotti que lo canta?
