Hi there, I enjoyed your video, but I wish you spent more time showing how you tapped into the power. Did you just splice into existing wires?.

Apologies Mark, but yes I tapped into an existing power wire..

Just wondering does water still run through the pump when your connected to mains at a caravan park for instance ??

It should, but its never been hooked up to mains, we always head off-grid

How do you switch between mains and the 12v pump. Is it literally just turn the pump off and mains will take over (if connected) ? In your video it looks like mains would only ever lead to your drawbar tap ? I want to wire a 12v pump to feed sink and drawbar tap but keep the manual hand pump at sink like you but also keep it possible for mains water to run to same taps when in caravan parks.

For us we 99% bush campers so I've left only the drawbar tap on mains.....

Thanks for sharing that. How many batteries do you have? Also, I love how you don't do caravan parks you stay at some awesome places I know you have a few properties available for free camps but where and how have you found the others ? Thanks

Just the 1 battery in van, 150a/h, got 2 in the 79 if I need back up ever, but that 1 would last 5 days easily even no with no sun..
Yes we have a couple of nice properties we go to, the odd 4wd event where we compete in Bullet truck, plus we do do some national parks and state Forrests. Yurighir national park up north, wattos in winter, we do the odd van park, down the snow once a year, up at Umina, kids love that place, but we don't do it as often as bush camping..
Even in the van park, we don't hook up to power or water, because we are so self sufficient.
      Cheers for commenting

@@TeamBulletOffroad thanks for that. I was thinking of adding another to mine as I only have the 1 which is a 110AH but think I'll hold off and keep the weight down, and we have a 3 way fridge so that can run off gas. I'm new to vans never had one before but bought an Expanda Outback watching your vids got me over the line. Love your adventures mate thanks for passing on the info and look forward to watching some more of your trips. Cheers

Thanks for sharing. I am looking at doing the same thing right now. What size pump do you recommend? Also I want to do a bit of both free and park camping, could you have the pump to do what you have done but also have it for mains water somehow?
    Thanks, and love your videos

Hi Geoff, I'm running a 10.6 l/per minute pump, only because i had it, could go a bit smaller, you could tap in a t piece and run an external tap pretty easily, just the pump would be switched on all the time, then opening the tap on either would get you water

Great video, did you still leave it connected to the mains inlet also?

What sort of connectors are you using mate? Are they single screw type sparky ones? Or are they automotive ones. Im sick of using crimp style auto ones.

Mixture of automotive and plumbing,, nothing i bought specifically, just stuff i had in the spare bits and pieces bucket. Thanks for watching..
