Also, a huge BRAVO to this organist who isn't afraid to use the resources of this instrument ala Fred Swann who influenced me. This style of organ and especially hymn playing is what makes church interesting and exciting to go to musically. I bet the parishoners at this church certainly are not bored. I used to go to Riverside Church in NYC JUST to hear Fred play. I'd be running to church every week just to hear this organist. BRAVO!!!
I used to as the organist to open it all up and sit on the altar a just feel it, not just hear it but feel the sound push and vibrate me! This organ can be heard 3 blocks away over Seattle traffic, and the 160 ft bombard set off uw sizemological instruments.
I much, much prefer the sound of this Flentrop to that of the 1989 organ built for Holy Name Catholic Cathedral in Chicago. This organ actually has a little backbone. Stylistically, an odd organ for an Anglican cathedral, but it seems to be a warm sound, and really get it done in this room! Very nice!
Your page seems to imply you are from the USA, but maybe you are Canadian. We proudly support the First Amendment freedom of speech and faith. I'm sure you do also. These good folks don't need RC permission to name their church a cathedral anymore than the inner city black churches sometimes do, and in some places, other denominations do likewise. Leave it rest and don't play the Catholic sectarian, OK? it doesn't win souls. We are all under relentless attack by the secular and atheist world and some want to play sectarian games. I'm happy they are in a church and sing the praise of our Blessed Lord. So few are in any church these days!

Cathedral as in for Catholic? It does not look like a Catholic Church to me if it's a Cathedral.

This is an Episcopal Cathedral not a Roman one.
