The main problem with most Hindi and Urdu speaking people living in Kolkata is their open disrespect for Bengali language and culture.

The discussion is so insightful. I couldn't agree more with Garga Chattopadhyay. He has portrayed absolutely clear picture of West Bengal (which I prefer to be called Bongo) and Bengali issues. I urge every Bengali to ponder about the potential issues which Garga has highlighted and take appropriate measure. Total development of any ethnic community is possible only when culture and capital goes side by side.
The reason for West Bengal's economic downfall is NOT North Indians, but rather, the repeated re-election of anti-industry parties to power.
Racism against North Indians will not solve economic problems in Bengal.
Just like racism against Jewish people did not solve economic problems in Nazi Germany.
This Father Dairy is just a fat, inefficient version of a dictator who doesn't even have the power to win a real election.
The greatest genocides against Bengalis was NOT done by North Indians but rather, in Noakhali (1947), Direct Action Day (1946), Marichjhapi (1979) who do you think perpetrated that violence? North Indians DID NOT.
Does Garga have the courage to speak out against the real perpetrators of violence against bengalis?
Instead Garga abuses poor, working class Bihari workers who are soft targets. Shame on him.
Currently Bengalis in Meghalaya are persecuted, discriminated against by KSU. Does Father Dairy do anything to protect them? No. Father Dairy only spreads racist hatred against Bihari Hindus who have NEVER actively harmed Bengalis.
In fact Bihari Hindus have always lived in peace with Bengalis. But of course, racist losers like Father Dairy can't tolerate such unity in diversity, thus he tries to promote hate against Biharis
The only solution to these problems as sighted by him can only and only be possible with a change of regime. But now a change of regime and the political culture has been supported and dominated by these people like the Editor of Sanmarg, Trinamool MLA like Vivek Gupta the great-great-grandsons of Wajid Ali Shah or the Birhari or Marwari migrants who have now swelled and rose to the rank of becoming sharks and mafias.

This particular podcast was need of the hour. Dr. Chatterjee's well articulated vision is indeed laudable. Apparently it may appear a bit provocative to some, but going by the reality in Bengal one can't deny the crude facts he stated in this interview with authentic data. Hopefully, we will be able to view more of this kind of podcasts with constructive objective favouring Bengal's growth and advancement, in this channel in near future.

That's simply because Hindustan is an area in North India specifically the banks and nearby areas of Indus and it's tributaries, inhabited by the people who speak hindustani language ( in modern day we have distinctively categorised them into Hindi and Urdu, although they are but the same language colloquially). The epithet Hindustan as popularised by the Mughals doesn't apply to our entire nation of INDIA. ( As such it has nothing to do with Hinduism as well). You will get ample evidences on the geographical coinage of Hindustan and it's perpetual usage, if you are really interested. We, Bengalis, Tamils, Telugus and other non-hindi ethnic groups are by no means Hindustani - We are proud citizens of our loving nation, INDIA.
Secondly, you can have your own views regarding Dr. Chatterjee's views and perceptions, I am none to comment on that.
But then again, view today's socio-political scenario in Bengal and whole of India, if one denies there's no HINDI IMPERIALISM, probably the person is dwelling in Fool's Paradise.

Please note, the present pathetic situation the Bengalis are in is a direct result of the planned influence of aberrated left leaning Ideologies on the the Bengali psyche over several decades which started during the British rule with the main intention to alienate the Bengalis from their rich cultural roots which inspired them to fight against the British rule. The sad part is that even after August 1947 the cleverly crafted native stooges of the erstwhile British rulers continued with this trend with the sole intention of grabbing political power and this trend reached its peak during the Leftist reign spanning three decades, especially during the period of Jyoti Babu at the helm under whom an idiotic and stupid education policy was introduced at the school level as a result of which thousands of thousands Bengali students were produced who simply lacked proficiency and confidence to face inevitable competition at all levels in modern times. Hence it would be futile to blame others for the present pathetic scenario in west Bengal, instead we should aim at reversing the self defeating attitude of the Bengalis in west Bengal.
