আবার অনেকে হয়তো ভাবি, তাঁদের কাজ হচ্ছে পলিটিকাল লিডারদের হ্যাঁ-তে হ্যাঁ মেলানো বা সিনেমার মতো সারাক্ষন সিস্টেমের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করা।
কিন্তু আসলে তাদের কর্মজীবনের পরিসরটা আমাদের ভাবনার থেকে অনেকটাই আলাদা।
সেখানে তাঁদের কাজটা কি?
কিভাবে একটা ব্যুরোক্রেটিক সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়?

Today's episode was a bit different, really appreciate it. I have a request in this regard - please try to bring Debashis Sen IAS (former Additional Chief Secretary and present Chairman of HIDCO). I think he can share insights into the transformation of Rajarhat-Newtown in recent times, and also on the proposed Silicon Valley and other such fintech projects, that are envisaged to transform Bengal.

Thanks Indrajit Sir for introducing such a great platform, I would like to highlight one point here, as Atri sir mentioned no one will come if the location is far away from all connectivity. I am staying in Hyderabad since last 6 years, majority of Hyderabad and hitech places are in hilly area and government planning was so good that there are many companies from all over the world in this barren land. Believe me 2 years back they used to deliver water through a tanker , despite of all this challenges, you cant believe the growth opportunity in Hyderabad. Is there any plan from government to initiate such program with referrence to other developing state govt. What I could feel the mindset differences .

It can be understood now why he became very close to present government now.
Where does he gets all these stats/figures and have spoken nothing about the future.
for example of highway motel case, if 15 people starts working now, are they getting registered in Labour department?
And is this how a state would progress ?
Take for any example in any prosperous state in India, where the tourism automatically started in periphery areas where large scale industry boomed.
No one will travel to North Bengal in weekend who is working in Noida, Gurgaon, Bengaluru or Chennai.

A classic example of imperious bureaucrat. The man is more concerned with his power snd authority than the sense of duty and service to the society. He seems to believe that the sun rises and sets as per the wish of the bureaucrates like him. These people don't know how to speak with people with dignity and humility.Shame on these people.

A state having a 100 million human resources should believe in best... Instead of making difference State Government high official need to be more diligent and effective with their strong ideas and commitment. State Gazetted officials are not cooperative and also not concerned about their roles and responsibilities. Crime is now becoming a prime factor in the state. Beurocracy is incomplete without information, communication , co-ordination. Objective of Law enforcement is to investigate crime and fraudulent activities but unfortunately they failed to analyze. People love to criticize failure but never prioritize on success but we belive failure is the pillar of success.

His idea of services is quite flawed. Even if I accept his argument at face value, there needs to be 'value add' in services. Ireland is a banking nation, finance sikhte and sekhate onek somoy lage, khoroch sekhaneo ache. Capital expense avoid kora jay na, human capital expense ba infrastructure related expense. Thik ai jonne IAS system ta bodlate hobe, it's still the colonial IAS.
I think our obsession with heavy industries is a nehruvian hangover. Our country as a whole has bypassed the manufacturing sector. With advent of technology and artificial intelligence job creation in heavy industries will keep on shrinking. In densely populated areas like West Bengal land acquisition for large scale industries will always remain a challenge. So it's wiser to adopt a strategy to upskilling the labour force and create more opportunities in service sectors.
@@sureshkumarmandi6055 Service sector requires years of human capital development if one has to make money. Look at the salaries at the hospitality sector, it's quite bad in comparison to other service sectors. Just speak to anyone who is running a restaurant in Kolkata, it's not as rosy as it seems. Development of high paying service sector jobs requires years of investment into human capital, which we do not have the budget for. India is not going to be Ireland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, UAE etc. May be some pockets can be but most if India would not be. The only way to make a Middle income wage is by industrialization. Very little value is being extracted from land. Rice cultivation is as low margin a business as it gets, there is no value add. We would need to create value somehow and holding doors at hotels and folding bed sheets would not propel the population up the value ladder. We are not obsessed with services either sir. Very few high net worth individuals get the financial service they require from Kolkata. Look at where all the high value service sector employees are seating.

মনে করুন আজ পেনসিলভেনিয়া যদি বলতো, ও, আমরা তো আমেরিকার মতো বিরাট শক্তির অংশ, আমাদের শিল্প নিয়ে ভেবে কাজ নেই. অথবা, হং কঙ যদি একই ভাবনা ভাবতো চীন কে নিয়ে.
২. মানভূম এ লজিস্টিকস নেই বলে শিল্প ওখানে যাবেনা. ঠিক. কিন্তু ১৯৪৭ সালেও মানভূমে লজিস্টিকস ছিলোনা , আজ ও নেই.

I think Indrajit da , you can ask very good question if you keep in mind that you have wide range of viewers and there knowledge depth is also different. So while asking questions for very general people you also need to keep in mind that there are viewers who already know the basics, they need some extra from your knowledgeable and experienced guests.
