    The only issue I have with this.. or for future games.. is it should be sung just before kick off with both teams on the pitch. Wait until the anthems finish.. let the teams take their side of the pitch.. and then belt this out. Imagine the goosebumps on your own players.. and the reaction of opponents when they here this rolling across the pitch... it's a stunning song.. Best of luck in the World Cup Wales ..

    I am a Chechen by nationality, I moved to the USA due to political persecution in Russia, my republic is located in the North Caucasus, my people today are part of Russia and for the last 400 years we have been trying to get rid of this empire of evil and invaders, the last time we fought against Russia in 90s, 10 years my people, which then numbered only 1 million people, waged war against the heirs of the Soviet Union with all their weapons, aviation, artillery, tanks, having only machine guns, so I, as a Chechen, a representative of a small but very proud people , like no one else in the world, I feel all the pain of the Welsh people in this song, I equally feel both pride and pain for the lost brothers and pleasant hopes for a great future.

      actually the song is much more than anti English, its Anti Invasion, Macsen would be Maximus the Roman leader that gave Wales to.the Welsh when the Romans invaded Briton, whilst a wall was built to keep.our Pict cousin's as far North as.possible, The area the Romans called Cambria (Modern Wales) was left alone mostly because it was sacred to Celts being the westernmost part of Briton most of West Wales (Conwy to The peninsula up north) was Holy ground for the Celtic religion. a religion that worshipped to the west. You"ll find every Celtic nation (even dead ones) the western most area/Town/Settlement its celtic name translated into English will be Holyhead.
      Easiest example is Holyhead lol. the Cornish have Penzance, which in Welsh (Old Celtic Welsh including Picts and Kernews) is Saints Head (Pen = Head Sants = Saints) ironically saints that we have now im Christianity was taken back to Rome by Maximus (well Roman Empire .i believe he never did see Rome again)
      The song also alludes to Vikings, Norse - Gaels, the Irish Gaels, French and even Moors (Muslims) who tried sea invasions. before. during and after the Anglo-Saxons.
      Technically though not mentioned it would include.other invasions planned but stopped (Napoleon, Hitler Since after England they would of wanted Ireland sense says Wales would of been next)

    Absolutely incredible stuff Welsh football fans and players. Spine tingling magic! Sad to say but in comparison some players for the Republic of Ireland are mindlessly chewing gum/doing stretches during the anthem with most of us supporters in the stand likewise butchering the words - like Leslie Nielsen does in Naked Gun to the US anthem - because we neither sufficiently know the words or what they translate into from Irish. You are naturally at ease with your own anthem 'Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau' and so obviously here with 'Yma o Hyd' too. So impressive not to mention the bucket hats. Class!

      i'm a North Walian , and consider liverpool and the scousers as part of us, great people,amazing city and I used to go to the legendary CREAM in nation , years ago. Love liverpool. in contrast today I was in manchester for the day , what a dirty shit hole, I had forgotten how bad it was .It was like spending the day in a public toilet.

    It really is time to replace Hen Wlad… with Yma O Hyd as the national anthem.

    • @kylegriffiths4463
      @kylegriffiths4463 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You crazy? Hen Wlad fy nhadau is the best national anthem in the world, why would anyone want to replace it?

    • @Naomi_NaeNae
      @Naomi_NaeNae 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As much as I adore this song and I mean I love it just as much as hen wlad but I have to disagree, I think our anthem is the best as it is and should remain but singing this at matches is a must and more than welcome. Why would anyone try changing (fixing) something that isn’t broken 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿❤️💚🤍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    I get goosebumps, hearing this song......."We are still here" (we the Welsh still exist, and our language is alive)
    May this be true also when Jesus reveals himself in His kingdom! (all nations, tribes, and languages, says in the book of Revelations and there must be a godly purpose for the Welsh people)

      You're kidding. Loads don't even know England is a country. I had an argument online recently with someone who insisted Wales, England and Scotland are regions of the UK and only the UK is a country. I despair.

    Was the millennium stadium too big for this match?

    • @drpaulvfr3597
      @drpaulvfr3597 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You mean the PRINCIPALITY 🤷🏿‍♂️ no it wasnt, but the player's & manager wanted ALL games played at the ccs, only half the crowd, but at a proper football stadium, where supporters are far closer to the action, and a full house there, make as much noise as 75k at the principality, no doubt we could have filled it, but would have had to " hire" the stadium, and that isnt cheap, the welsh fa, have a very small pot of money in the bank, so cannot afford to lose money, the ccs is the new home of welsh football( for now at least), due to very little success in the past, only recently since say 2016 euros, have crowds stradily increased.hope that explains why it wasnt held elswhere.
