This seems to be a bit more of just an extended family more than a commune. guess you would just have to experience it to get a true perspective. I , personally see the business side of thi s particular one as more of a corporation than a socialist experiment. I have never been to one, but this one looks interesting.

Just read the good, old bible: There NEVER EVER is mentioned any external (sic !) "government". The people ALWAYS were a genuine c o m m u n i t y not in any need of a government - except self-gov (so yes, WITHOUT any force, army, police, jails, courts, judges, etc.) -> see also the natives in north america !!! And mind you: We must get BACK to these roots - otherwise we are doomed ->

It's ironic. The founders were urban Jews who were trying to escape from the shtetle stigma, but rebuilt them in a new land and a new way!

These people have been raised for generations in Russia and Eastern Europe so ofcourse they are use to it which has nothing to do with religion.
