"Rogues in the House" is one of Robert E. Howard's most famous Conan the Barbarian stories, first published in Weird Tales in 1934. This action-packed tale showcases Conan at his best-caught in a web of political intrigue, betrayal, and brutal combat. Set in a corrupt city-state, the story follows Conan as he navigates a deadly game of wits and violence, encountering treacherous nobles, cunning thieves, and a mysterious figure known only as Thak. "Rogues in the House" is a prime example of Howard's ability to blend adventure with deep, atmospheric storytelling, making it a cornerstone of the sword & sorcery genre.
Perfect for fans of adventure, short stories, sword & sorcery, and audiobooks, this reading brings to life one of the most iconic tales in the Conan saga. Experience the brutal and captivating world of Robert E. Howard's creation like never before.

Excellent work sir, fantastic VO as always! 'Well fed' that priest was indeed! Haha, graphics are top notch! MORE CONAN! 🙂
You know there's no middle-ground with AI. 'Well-fed' means 'As fat as you could ever imagine' :p Thanks! Happy you enjoyed it!
Thak is one of my favorite ape-men in fiction. Thanks for this great narration, the AI is pretty good too.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, Thak shows us there´s a more wicked opponent out there. Many times stronger than a man, and just as cunning!
Thanks for this! Brilliant as always. Don't know this one...
Much appreciated! This one wasn't known to me either, but I really enjoyed going through it!
I love this one! Well done!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent performance. I enjoy the connection to Hall of the Dead. My favorite three images are the fat treacherous priest in the Maze, the cackling Red Priest with Marillo, and Conan and Marillo in the garden.
@@jonathanowen9917 Thanks! Yeah, I find those especially striking as well ^^
Excellent narration thanks, can't believe you have not reached more ears😊
Thank you! Really appreciate it :) I don´t mind, I do it mostly out of love for these stories ^^ But I´m not opposed to you sharing the channel with family and friends...
@MiniatureMythos I certainly will, I will also be popping up in the likes and comments for a lot more of your videos, outstanding work my friend, Good luck with the yt algorithm
Was the Gunderman who was hanged the beginning, the same Gunderman who fought with Conan inThe Hall of The Dead?
I'd like to think it is a reference to Nestor, yes. After the events in The Hall of the Dead, Conan and Nestor seem to have been up to more misadventures together... Unfortunately, it didn't end well for the Gunderman in the end and Conan had to avenge his friend.
Interesting question. Thanks for this.
@@MiniatureMythos thank you. I could not remember his name.
That's unfortunate, I liked Nestor
@@Joe-hl9ti You and me both. And I´ve heard the same said by others. Conan and Nestor made for an unlikely but fun pair. I´ll take a look if Nestor is featured in any other non-Howard Conan-stories.
