    • @dothetontim
      @dothetontim 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have a Koda 16 and am considering the Arc XL so I can keep my Koda at a cabin. Both will cook the same. The Arc looks nicer, but the thermometer is useless (if you're cooking pizzas you're using a proper thermometer) and the battery igniter will fail over time as they all do. The Koda has a piezo igniter that requires no batteries/is more reliable. I expect the Koda is quite a bit less expensive and you can probably get one 2nd hand. Money no object get the Gozney. If you want a great oven for a better price get the Koda.

    Hi Tom ! 🙂 Great video ! I'm curious how long a 20 lb tank (9 Kg) of propane would last using this model, or any of your Ooni models. I'm in Canada, so 20 pound tanks aren't what you use, - with that said, what size of propane tank are you using ? I pay about $14 to fill a 20 lb tank, and for a typical bbq, it would last quite a long time, but since you are heating this model for 30 to 40 minutes ( I'm assuming at full blast ) a tank won't last long so I'd love to get a handle on what your times are on a tank etc..... - a video would be awesome, go through what you pay typically for a propane tank fillup.... how they measure the tanks there... ( are they also be weight ? ) etc.... it would be a great video to do.... anyway thanks for taking the time to read this Tom ! Love your videee-oohhhs !! 🙂

    Hi Tom, love your reviews, I’m looking for my first pizza oven and am stuck between this one and the Gino pizza oven, I want a gas one ans need the controls at the front due to my workspace, do you think the Gino is good and easy enough to use for a beginner or should I splash out and get the arc xl?

    • @TomVoyageuk
      @TomVoyageuk  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They're both good ovens capable of cooking amazing pizza, the question i would ask yourself is firstly budget, if you can stretch to the Gozney, you're getting a larger oven, thicker stone, more advanced gas technology and i really like the digital display and super accurate gas regulator too. That said, Gozney is expensive, especially if you want to add stand, shelf, and other accessories. The Gino is far less to buy, but your limited to 14", better through if you want to travel with the oven, or take on trips as it folds up, lighter to carry, and also easier to store if you only plan on using a couple of times a month. Also think about who your cooking for... If its just 2-3 pizzas at a time, then the Gino will be fine, if you're doing parties for 6 or more people regularly the Gozney is more suited, as that thicker stone will hold more heat to prevent re heat time in between pizza. Hope this helps :)

      N2U2 is coming out with door which should help with speeding up the pre-heat as a similar door for the Dome has been demonstrated to speed up tue pre-heat. The door has a baffle design that lets in sufficient air. Plus the vent on top is left unblocked.

    • @TomVoyageuk
      @TomVoyageuk  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment, and i agree it's a really nice looking oven, with a very classic design. Reminds me of the way cars were designed in the 1930's/1940's.
      The Pi Prime is a great oven, and works really well. Smaller though and probably more suited to making 2 or 3 pizzas a time, but it heats up faster and is lighter.
      The Arc Xl is more suited if you're going to be making 6-8 pizzas at a time, or maybe hosting parties and you need that extended heat retention. Also if your keeping it in place and don't need to move about much, and you're going to be getting the £££ worth by using it every week of the year. Hope this helps :)

That said, I do like the idea of the starter button being on the front of the oven. @dougal6569 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TomVoyageukHas anyone actually tested the 14 yet?
      From looking at the burner power, mass and entrance opening size, I suspect that the 14 might be much quicker to reach Neapolitan temperatures. The 16 seems errrr…. kinda slow! And longer heat up with a bigger burner translates as noticeably more gas used before you start cooking.
      Clearly for big, thin, crispy lower temperature pizzas the 16 is the way to go. But for 11/12” Neapolitans, I do wonder whether the basic Arc might actually be the BETTER choice.
      Agreed, with the current pricing, the XL does look as though you are getting much more for not much more money, but for domestic use (on Neapolitans at least) the extended heat up time is going to be an unwelcome gotcha.
      The XL seems to have been the only version ‘seeded’ to influencers (I ask myself why), and (in the UK) it is already on backorder from Gozney. But where are the side-by-side comparisons (including gas consumption) of the Arc and the XL?
