The handhelds were terrible - I had a Nomad - and he had the misfortune of buying into the Saturn, but before that the Genesis was amazing and I had no regrets having that as a kid after NES. The Master System was solid but the Genslesis was amazing and real competition with Nintendo. The Dreamcast was awesome too, just launched too late for what it was and had several issues. Greg definitely got crushed with that Saturn purchase though haha.
If they’re doing all these different iterations of the 3DS they should’ve really included the different PSP versions. The street is very different from the original.
Loooooooved this episode, this is one people are going to keep going back to years from now! Roger being driven absolutely crazy in the first few picks is INCREDIBLE
Agree with Bless that the NeoGeo pocket color was a looker specifically when the screen was on. Had a great screen for the time, and the colors really popped.
GBAsp, Vita, 2DSXL, GB Pocket, 3DSXL for me. I'd put PSP top of A and Color next to it. Felt like Vita was just a much nicer and less cluttered PSP and the GB Pocket doesnt have the odd rear dimensions of the GB Color. I agree those are all the best though (imo).
DS Lite should have been S Tier, DSi A Tier, and as a boi with small hands, the 3DS and New 3DS are both higher than the XL models for me. Overall though, very solid tier list.
I won an art contest when I was like 7 and used the winnings to buy a game gear with Sonic Chaos. It was huge and sucked down batteries, but it was in color! My parents got tired of buying batteries so I was tethered to the wall most of the time.
Turbo Grafix had a handheld. Called the Turbo Grafix Express. Released in 1990. It played the same games as the home console. Five years before the Sega Nomad.
Sega NOMAD was exclusive to Toys R Us here in the U.S. it was a brick but comfy to play. The buttons were good, but it ate batteries. It's my favorite thing in my collection I don't use anymore.
At one point I would have put the SP over the original advance but the OG is really the ultimate small game device. Only had what you need in a perfect shape to hold.
Growing up my brother and I had a suitcase with foam we cut out to hold a game boy color, sega nomad and all the games and accessories. We would take this on any semi long trip we would take. The nomad's battery lasted like 1 hour, it was atrocious
My friends and I would always swop back panels so we had an offset color scheme - to this day I have my atomic purple gameboy color with someone’s neon/lime green battery cover - it’s hot AF
The SP was great for us as kids with small hands, but today a modded original GBA with an IPS screen seems to be the superior option. I’d argue both are S tier. The Switch Lite by design is so much better than the original Switch. If the Switch Lite was the same size as the OLED with an OLED screen (or even just it’s own original size with an OLED screen), it’d be the superior way to play Switch. The OLED is great, but that unibody feel and sturdiness of the Lite should not be understated. The original PSP (1000) reigns over the PSP 2000, 3000 and Vita. Although the Vita “Slim” is phenomenal in its own right, it just feels slippery in my hands. I don’t know if it’s how light it is, or the texture of the Vita Slim, but that’s my biggest problem with it - it feels slippery compared to any other handheld. Also, I’m surprised you didn’t throw the PS Portal into the conversation….and for shiggles, the Wii U Gamepad. 😂
How is it S tier if it has horrific ergonomics compared to the regular GBA? Very edgy quadratic design alone and that the screen isnt in the middle of the controls (much worse to hold, weight wise to have the screen on top and a fold).. in my opinion the GBA Sp was one of the worst iterations of a Nintendo Handheld series ever.
This sounds like the arguments I have in my head to defend my choice to be a samsung girlie when the iPhone 4 went from beautiful metal accents to hang charms on to ugly plastic eggs .. no one listens anymore cus I don't have a podcast
Vita is gorgeous, but the small buttons, small sticks, and lack of L2 and R2 killed it for me after a short while. The list of games I was able to enjoy on it was very limited.
I grew up a sega game gear kid way better than og GB but man , I seen that pokemon anime in 98 and went right to walmart and bought the GB Pocket and poke red with my paper route money and that was it .. Nintendo all in since
2DSXL should have been there at the least, they tarted the convo on the right track. The 3DSXL should have been S as well behind that. I agree it was wild. They looked hreat closed, were sleek, and look great opened up.
Bruh I absolutely DIED at Bless reacting to the back of the game gear
Btw the buttons on the lynx are not for multiplayer, they are so you can flip it and play it left handed
Accessibility features for the win!
Greg was clearly in an abusive relationship with Sega consoles.

Roger: "Am I taking crazy pills?!"
Yes, undoubtedly.
Blessing calling the advanced the middle pokemon stage was so on point and had me cracking up.
The Analogue Pocket. Why in the world was the absolute best looking handheld ever made not included?
Oh baby I can’t wait to see what I’m gonna be mad about this time.
The shade on the OG Gameboy is insane!
If they’re doing all these different iterations of the 3DS they should’ve really included the different PSP versions. The street is very different from the original.

Loveee these tier lists episodes, they're so fun, even if it makes me want to throw food at my TV screen sometimes 😁
This is KFG Vol. 3, Episode 62 (Episode 546 overall)
Agree with Bless that the NeoGeo pocket color was a looker specifically when the screen was on. Had a great screen for the time, and the colors really popped.
I’m gonna be honest… I have a bit of a special place in my heart for the 2ds. I kinda loved mine.
Love this episode. One you missed that I really like is the ROG Ally 😁
ROG Ally is beatiful is S Tier
PSP, 2DSXL, 3DSXL, and Gameboy Color all belong in S Tier.
17:51 I’m with you Roger, that thing is horrible looking. None of the lines connect and the next one was an improvement.
DS Lite should have been S Tier, DSi A Tier, and as a boi with small hands, the 3DS and New 3DS are both higher than the XL models for me. Overall though, very solid tier list.
The best handheld of all time is the DS Lite Guitar Hero edition.
I love the way the OG Game Boy looks, something about it
I won an art contest when I was like 7 and used the winnings to buy a game gear with Sonic Chaos.
New 3DS with the swappable faceplates was SNUBBED.
Putting it next to that shiny plastic prototype was an absolute mistake.
This and the DS lite deserved s tier.
The steam deck should deff be above the old switch
Love these list discussions! Best console start-up sequence/screen next??
Man, if I was part of this panel, I would have shown up with all my super old handhelds, NGage included, to educate Roger.
Sega NOMAD was exclusive to Toys R Us here in the U.S. it was a brick but comfy to play. The buttons were good, but it ate batteries. It's my favorite thing in my collection I don't use anymore.
The Game Boy SP was my first handheld. I remember going to school with it and other kids with the Game Boy Advance felt so cheated 🤣
Sega channel still blows my mind how ahead of its time it was
The Gizmondo had Age of Empire and Conflict: DS II on it 😂 that’s wild
At one point I would have put the SP over the original advance but the OG is really the ultimate small game device. Only had what you need in a perfect shape to hold.
The GBA SP is the best looking for me. This thing was so good looking that it got all the women in my family trying games again.
We need the “kinda funny summer games” a bunch of stupid competitions live stream the whole thing, would be a good time!
The game boy color might be my favorite console ever - handheld or otherwise
Can we get a picture of the Nomad with a Game Genie plugged into a Sonic and Knuckles plugged into a Sonic 3?
Lmao I had a Nomad and a game genie from when I had a Gensis, it looked so goody all stacked like that
This episode wasn’t on the podcast feed so I almost missed it!
I was ready to hit that unfollow button if the GBA SP didn’t get an S rank 😂
Growing up my brother and I had a suitcase with foam we cut out to hold a game boy color, sega nomad and all the games and accessories. We would take this on any semi long trip we would take. The nomad's battery lasted like 1 hour, it was atrocious
I wish Roger wasn't turned up to 11 on nearly everything he is on
It's called having a personality, buddy. Don't take it too personally
@@smittybadcall man you really took my comment pretty personally
And I'm talking about when he doesn't like something, he will go so hard on it and won't let up, no matter what anyone says about it
@@StraanGaming who the fuck cares lmao
@@smittybadcall then why did you comment?
The DS Lite not being an S is an actual crime..
Not looking at the DSi while closed was a disservice to that console. I think it looks better than the DS Lite visually, all day
The most egregious aspect of the NGage was you had to remove the battery to swap games.
You guys should've looked at the PSP 3000. It looks so much better than the 1000 model you guys were looking at (especially in green)
My friends and I would always swop back panels so we had an offset color scheme - to this day I have my atomic purple gameboy color with someone’s neon/lime green battery cover - it’s hot AF
I remember around a year later selling my DS for the PSP
Switch Lite is a low C for me. It is majorly uncomfortable. All the switch positions is just crazy
The SP was great for us as kids with small hands, but today a modded original GBA with an IPS screen seems to be the superior option. I’d argue both are S tier.

PSP Go should've been higher, that thing was sexy af
Roger talks so loud and fast he doesn’t process what he’s saying
Give Greg one beer and psp and vita are above s tier
Wait did they not include the Wonderswan? Why the oversight?
Likely because it was only released in Japan
Fair, though still a bit odd since it sold more than quite a few worldwide on this list.
Rog Ally should be on here and should be S tier
The Gameboy Advance SP is an easy S tier. The Gameboy Advance SP with authentic TRIBAL TATTOO DESIGN I had is BEYOND SS Tier 🖤🖤
@@Coldsilfur4 backlight.
No Analogue pocket is a serious misstep in an otherwise excellent tier list.
I love how many 3DS variants you entertained, but chose to combine the only two Vita consoles into one score :D #VitaMeansLife #PSILYXOXO
Come on man Steamdeck is here but not the Rog Ally and Legion Go? Give those guys a chance to shine.
Where is the analog pocket..and ROG ally
Ergonomically the Nomad seems annoying to play but look-wise (without a game) I think it looks kinda dope.
psp go S-Tier easily.
Aqua Blue Vita is the Goat handheld (looks wise) imo.
I painted my Silver SP it was fly
This sounds like the arguments I have in my head to defend my choice to be a samsung girlie when the iPhone 4 went from beautiful metal accents to hang charms on to ugly plastic eggs .. no one listens anymore cus I don't have a podcast
Please do a controller version of this!
Vita is gorgeous, but the small buttons, small sticks, and lack of L2 and R2 killed it for me after a short while. The list of games I was able to enjoy on it was very limited.
I haven't owned many handhelds, but Game Boy Advance SP is S-Tier for me.
Playdate should be S tier!
Once again, for this new ranking episode, Roger having the freaking worst takes of all time on everything related to looks.
they said the 2ds was bad ergonomically? thats crazy cus the og2ds is touted as the most comfortable ds made
I hope they rank controllers
GBA not bing S tier is a crime.
Did they seriously not talk about how you had to remove the battery to swap games on the ngage?
Wtffff lol that's awesome
@TheAndyCortez that is accurate. I feel like that's important for looks.
The QD model fixed that
I laughed way too hard at B for bezel
For looks? Toss up between Original 3ds or ps vita. 100% solid and sexy on both ends 😉
If anyone thinks the oled steam deck is “too heavy”…I wonder how these people even open car doors…😂😂😂😂😂😂
Where would you put the PS Portal in this list? Surely has to be an A or S
no way tim looks at a gameboy sp and thinks it looks better than vita
Funny episode. I wonder if your erased everyone’s memory and made the list again what would happen
I would say PSP PSVita DS DSi 2DS 2DS XL are my favorites
I just love ps handhelds. Just perfect.
How did they forget the PSP slim but have like 9 DS versions lol
No Rog Ally?
Barret has never held a 2DS. Thing is ugly as hell but it’s extremely ergonomic to hold
I grew up a sega game gear kid way better than og GB but man , I seen that pokemon anime in 98 and went right to walmart and bought the GB Pocket and poke red with my paper route money and that was it .. Nintendo all in since
So painful to hear them talk about the Lynx, “multiplayer”???? No, it was for left handed!!! I had the gen 2 and it always felt great to hold
So next episode...controllers?
lol I still have my game gear and that thing is chunky but great library of games 😂
And I had the cobalt blue sp with Pokémon sapphire🔥 memories
They forgot to put the Virtual Boy in F tier.
You guys forgot the N-Gage QD
The game gear section killed me
PSP Go is S Tier and that's a fact
Not having a single DS or 3DS in S Tier is outrageous
2DSXL should have been there at the least, they tarted the convo on the right track. The 3DSXL should have been S as well behind that. I agree it was wild. They looked hreat closed, were sleek, and look great opened up.
I want ask is the steam deck supposed to be hot to touch. I’m playing the Witcher 3
No WonderSwan?
Logitech G Cloud is indeed an A
OG game boy should be A
Roger really has the worst takes lol but I love him
How the fuck is playdate in A
Vita is 👑
Also Xbox one s shouldn't be there it's just a redesign. The one x is a more powerful mid gen so that's fine but not the s.
Guy on the left doesn't like shyt
