Well this isn’t a pirate game, it’s a mmo ship warfare with a pirate theme
@@moaningjeckyl676 You can customize your PIRATE go into PIRATE settlements and it’s being marketed as an IMMERSIVE PIRATE EXPERIENCE. It was suppose to have pvp combat with swords or guns because it was being made as a sea of thieves competitor they cut it at the last minute because they ran out of money in the hopes to add it later if the game was successful. It’s not one of those “take the game for what it is” situations. It’s Ubisoft putting out half a game because they don’t have faith enough in the developers to chunk more money into it for it to be a full game.

Pirate game without land battles and abordage battles, no fort siege on ground, there could be different factions to join like Black Beard Pirate, or some nations bucaneers, like mercenaries of english, french
to be honest, I think that they may add those campaigns later on. One of my favorite pirates was indeed Black Beard and Davy Jones

they will be theres a season pass coming in march , plus you can do fort battles ive been playing it for 5 days now an i love the realiztic feel of it people are complaining about the grinding but i love it i love the combat on the oceans etc...

The beta was a blast. Hard to say since we don’t have definitive information on the PVP. If it’s good and substantial, I’m in.
Last time I played the only way to do pvp was to grab the cutthroat cargo (legendary treasure map), but hopefully they have another way to activate full pvp
I'll admit, the graphics do look quite nice, and I like the concept, plus, being able to play this game in single-player without as much hassle does put it a grade above Sea of Thieves in that aspect. But at the end of the day, this is still Ubisoft, so I wouldn't expect a masterpiece.
well Sea of Thieves added Safer Seas it is basically singleplayer
AC Black Flag
Single player isn’t single player if it requires an internet connection.
They should make servers with islands, and then you can conquer the island and settle with your friends eventually evolve to a fort. And then other players with other islands sea battles plus island conquest bruhhh that would se sooo dope

@@wrydstepbr0_0 Imagine adding a sword fighting DLC in a pirate game that's been in development for 10 YEARS. That'd be like NBA 2K not letting you dribble a ball at launch just to add it in later.
A pirate game where we can’t have sword duels..or pillage .. this might as well be battle ship 3D

Play sea of thieves
I'm looking forward to it as i love everything about pirates. People may not enjoy the game and thats their opinions, my opinion is I'm looking forward to it but I'm not expecting it to be Game of the Year or anything.
At first PVP was able to be enabled and disabled, when disabled your progression would take longer. But now PVP will happen when there is a big event in the game, like a legendary treasure ship hunt where you will have other players to combat against too. And possible other things too, but we will have to wait and see. There can always be updated/upgrades and DLC's to the game, i played almost each beta and so far i like it how it is now.
i hope pvp is not mandatory as EVERY pvp game has shown hackers run ramped.
I'm looking forward to playing Skull and Bones, although, the $89.00 price tag here in Australia might settle me down until it goes down over the year.
Tbh i think it will go down quick in price tho.. 4 to 6 months for sure
Even though Sea of thieves wasn’t meant to be a serious but a goofy fun game. That game is even more of a pirate game than this. SoT is just a goofy looking version of probably the best pirate game Black Flag. People even saying SoT has some competition…😂😂😂 There is none when you’ve already won especially if rumors are true that SoT is planning to bring the game to PS5 players.

@@black_dahlia8256 Ubisoft originally marketed the game to play like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. That's the problem. This is a bait & switch. Players wanted to have the freedom to actually play as a pirate, not a damn boat.

I would but I played Black Flag to death and there is no other alternative. I agree SnB doesn't look amazing, but if there is no real competition the game might still do good.

@@Seussenshmirtzyou need a good crew for that or you get smoked I play that I’m a good solo slipper but that game is unfair as shit I can’t 3v1 people in. A brig or 4v1 peoples in a galleon and half the sloops have two players so they have an advantage too I’m by now means a bad sot player I can fight but I can’t fight 4 fucking people at once while also having to repair manually angle the sails bring ‘em to half and shoot cannons.

What you can do is get ubisoft plus it lets you play for a month for 15.99 think it is an you can cancel any time so after month if you like it an find it worth it then you can buy game if you hated game then at least you only payed 15.99 instead of full price for game

I bought the Digital Premium Edition earlier for Xbox. I been waiting on this game for a very long time. I absolutely love Pirate Games
I like the comment about accuracy and realism regarding the ship's cannons. The ships have machine guns and flame throwers installed.

@@tzarkizitski9344 oh I believe it. I read a lot of history, and it's really obvious no one did their homework on this one. Just the dialogue alone is super cringeworthy as I don't think pirates talked about "chasing the winds of fate" or "I wanna be the best pirate!"
@dalebirkenstock2580 the term pirate wasnt even thrown around like that 😂 they were almost always reffering to themselves as privateers for legal reasons

@@Sinjin_Sayre I understand that, but if you are going to set a game as a period piece, there should be a bare minimum of research involved. I understand otherwise it would be boring, as ships back then moved extremely slowly and to portray them accurately would be a snoozefest. I just thought the comment was ironic and amusing. But this game was a total lame attempt at a time period with no research done on anything. Here's an example. I have a friend who is a writer/director. I think he's a great director. The cinematography, set pieces, and pacing are impressive considering his budgets. But the dialogue drives me crazy. He did a western where everyone speaks as if they were Harvard educated and speaking in prose. I've told him people didn't talk like that back then because most people were uneducated. He brings up the books he has read and the prose they were written in. That was the author, not the subjects. But what do I know? He's a millionaire for writing them and I'm not.

Well I was planning on picking up the game but if they've changed their stance on PvP that I am out The biggest reason why I don't play Sea of thieves is because it's mandatory PVP
Not anymore. They've added private servers in Sea of Thieves, and a host of other options to improve the new player experience. So you only have to PVP if you want to now.
11 years to make this and Black Flag still to this day plays better than what we saw in open beta with this game...

Like an ESO variant of Black Flag, if they add actual boarding, and new locations and activities Regularly through DLC then Wallah, you got it folks

As far as I can tell it's rough around the edges RN but it'll most likely get better after a few updates remember people games aren't perfect at launch just give it some time and it'll be an amazing game

I'm a little late posting this, but I got Ubisoft+ just for this game (and of course AC: Mirage) and I'm also a HUGE fan of Pirates. When I found out that this game was coming out, I was immediately stoked for it despite what some of the haters were already saying about it. Can't wait for this game to release.

Agree rockStar would make it online open world with a passive mode on/off but not for missions Ubissoft is making a single player game for kids with one event pvp that you can avoid easy..

I was playing it all last night instead of getting to sleep. I've found it really enjoyable. It's a little wonky and rough around the edges right now. After I get off work I'll be hopping back on.

I prefer single played as opposed to multi-player and a game that has a good story. If this game has those then I might play it.

I don't like the idea of limited ammo. I mean if we are talking about realism, an 18th century sailing vessel could not turn on a dime either. However, I will still play the game because I am a simp for age of sail warfare.

The collecting mini games can be set to auto which just gets you a few less per tick & save you from repetitive mouse clicking 🤣
Being that Ubisoft likes adding Easter eggs in the games they produce something tells me there gonna be one piece references on the game cause well it's a pirate game and that's an pirate anime

It's a shame that they didn't make a single player story focused game which included land missions and sword fights. An online component could've been added too.
I just don't think it's quite worth £50-£65 for me when it's so online focused. With the development hell it's been through idk how long the servers will stay up.
I wonder whether it'd be better as a free to play game with so many saying they either won't buy it, won't play it or will play it on game pass or ps+ whenever it's on there.

It’s just a boat fighting game. No boarding combat no land action. Not set in the Caribbean. Better be amazing boat fighting

The issue everyone has is that theirs NO offline n you play with pretty much everybody n see everyone from what i understand n thats why we probably dont have boarding although a quick issue to solve that would be that you just make sure you kill a certain number of crew but im definitely play it on game pass n see do wish their was more like Black flag pirate in it.
U can play pve so u wont be bothered by others

Anything and everything is better than Sea of Thieves. Rare = Garbage in / Garbage out. PvP should 100% be on separate servers.
Sea of Thieves added private servers, so you don't have to PVP now unless you really want to.

There's just no satisfying some people. This game will be as much fun as you want it to be. The more people that play, the more they will add and the more content you will get. I just hope that PvP is 100% avoidable unless you want that. No PvE missions should take place in a PvP zone. That will definitely kill the game for me.

This is not a true pirate simulator, there is no real ship boarding and there is no hand to hand combat or island exploring. This is just World of Warships with pirates. I will pass

It wasn’t never meant to be a “pirate simulator”. If you want all that go play sea of thieves because this one is more arcade. Personally, i had a blast playing both the closed beta for this game and will be putting in hundreds of hours.

In the beta , once you left the safety of the bay , it was open attack on any one , so people would wait till a player attacked an npc ship then then would attack the other player ship and destroy the other players ship ,

@@Sichundo right now you can only get pvp attacked in specific events such as cutthroat cargo. Other than the few events there is no pvp in the game

It's online only and Ubisoft say they can take away your games if you are inactive so I'll pass on this one...if i ever buy from Ubisoft again it'll only be physical copies
