Thank you Turtle. This is the first video of The Surfrajettes with Annie Lillis on drums. She says she will play throughout the forthcoming Electric Six tour with the exception of the final week. She appears to be a barefoot drummer. On their social media, they promised new material and Double Reverb, Hot Doggin' and (I think it must be) Piss And Vinegar are new. Clam Chowder is a new cover. A rough count totals five original numbers as yet unavailable on vinyl so the group must be well on their way to compiling sufficient material for that difficult second album. Jeff Crespi's previous photographs of the group were well worth a look. The Surfrajettes perform at Marysville next weekend but in October they are ARE coming to play in the United Kingdom.😀 EDIT. I am indebted for westcoastpaeb's advice that Hot Doggin' was originally by the Astronauts. Jeff Crespi's photographs of Hi Tide Summer Holiday are now on-line. One photograph shows the setlist which confirms it is Priss And Vinegar.
It was a great weekend of live music! 8 bands from 6 countries! I haven’t seen The Surfrajettes since last November in Ohio. I live in SC, so will try to see them again at one or both dates in NC in October. Awesome they will finally play in the UK, hopefully they add some more European dates for everyone to enjoy over there.
@@michaelriddell9398 The straight answer to that must surely be no. I've repeated above what she told us on IG a few weeks ago. Who will stand in for her during the final week of the E6 tour isn't known although Sam Maloney would surely be favourite. In interview this year, without refering to drummers specifically, Shermy explained that they cannot expect an employer to let them off touring whenever they want. I think they should be congratulated for their ability to play seemlessly with varied personnel.
@@chrisst8922 Absolutely, they should. It has to be hard to have a job and tour. Many people assume they are rich because they are popular, but these days it's tough to make money in music. Thats the reason I buy so much merchandise and attend the shows, to help support them. I'd like to see Dani Nash fill in someday too, she is on the Roller Fink album and is just incredible.
@@mustangmikep51i just got tickets for Charleston October 8. I can’t believe they are finally playing where I live. This will be my 6th time seeing them and for the first time I don’t have to fly somewhere to do it.
Saw them in early October 23 7:39 in Leesburg was one of the best acts I have seen in a few. This bassist is great, but she had to be replaced temporarily, I hope. The rythem section was still so great, is one of the many reasons why these guitars sound so freaking awesome.

Did Asbury Lanes used to be called "the Fastlane"? My band Tribal Scream had a few gigs in Asbury Park in the early 90s at a place called the Fastlane that was right next to a bowling alley. Cool band. I'm digging the old school surf rock vibe.

I was born and raised in Jersey 74 grad. From H. S. Joined the USAF for 21 years. Living in Wa. Yes the stone pony, any many more clubs on the shore. I went clubing during military leave Just asking what club were the band at by name. Have a great week

I would like to hear them do a cover of something fast like Ace of Spades. Incorporating an instrumental surfed-up heavy metal song into their repertoire would be cool.
