Great video, but after going to so much effort to remove the subframe and replace the mounting bushes, I would have cleaned up the subframe, rust remedied and given it a good coat of stonechip.
aaanton11 They were cheap but only bought for the subframe so I wouldn’t have to do it again. Rest of the car was kept on rubber bushes for comfort. Always made my MOT guy smile.
How much did you charge to do that pain in the neck of a job ? The car was only worth a couple of hundred.... I know what a bush is now. I've had an advisory on my MOT. Thanks.
32:45 Those are not “little nicks” mate. You’ve cut into the subframe and made it dangerous!! Not sure I can watch any more to find out if you figured out what you were doing wrong from the beginning. You were literally hitting the puller AGAINST the direction you were attempting to pull out the bush!!! No wonder it didn’t move. All you had to do was spray some WD40 on both sides of the bush, put the puller in place, tighten it up, and then give it a few sharp taps from the correct side. Then tighten the puller, and keep tapping it in the correct direction until it frees up. Thank you for sharing this learning experience. Peace
Hmm you lost many time to remove these bushes...if you use a hydraulic press mybe your work is to easy... I have a car lyke this and i need to remove bushes too but ...after i see your video i will not by a laser tool like your...i will prefeer a 10t hydraulic pres...which will be used to remove an put in a wheel bearing.. to remove rear subframe home ..will be a pain in the.......but in Romania everything is possible....
@@aaanton11 sorry for my question ..what do you recommend ? after remove bushes and rear subframe arms are necessary an adjustments? alignment of run angle ?

I used poly bushes. They don’t wear as quick but they give a bit of a harder ride.
I wouldn't poly bush this one, be worth more than the car 😂Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
