    Paradis is one of my favourite pieces of music ever made. It's such a unique song, so full of emotion, and the way it builds and releases tension is masterful! This performance really does the music justice, absolutely phenomenal in every way! I really hope Wintergatan comes to Australia when that world tour eventually happens...
    That harp-guitar thing looks sick, where do you even get one of those?! What even IS THAT?!
    Also shoutout to that drummer for being great at the theremin, that is a very hard thing to do and he was amazing on it

    While I do really like this version, I have to admit that I miss the hammered dulcimer at the start. It brings such a lovely tonal quality to the song. Replacing the harp with the music box was a really nice move though, loved that!

    • @dylan5218
      @dylan5218 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wintergatan Is the rhythm accuracy for the music box determined by the closeness of the holes in the paper? For example, the closer the holes are, the faster the rhythm. Something at the beginning with the music box didn't match up, I think it was the box playing sixteenth notes. I was wondering if it was due to the paper having too much space in between the holes. Would it help to make the rhythms more precise by making the paper a "higher resolution" with more holes per square inch, in turn making the wholes smaller and also doing more complex rhythms with the machine. I love the music by the way.

    • @楊子慕
      @楊子慕 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah I like it the way it is now, the sound fits perfectly with simple wood texture.

    • @Lundy.Fastnet.Irish_Sea
      @Lundy.Fastnet.Irish_Sea 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think so. This is the basic principle of music boxes in general. Making the paper move faster makes the music go faster, but the interval between notes is controlled by the spacing between holes.

      Wintergatan is on Bandcamp and you can download the entire concert there. You can determine your own price. I just downloaded the whole lot from there and gave them what I normally would pay for two CD's.
      You can choose just about every format you want. I downloaded them in FLAC for the home stereo and in MP3 for the car.

    I like the heaviness at the end, the mix of softer and harder parts works really well :D
    That would even be so badass if it has some KAUAN vibes :o (search for "KAUAN OFFICIAL LIVE: PIRUT & SORNI NAI" on TH-cam and watch some parts of it :3 )
    But that's because I'm a Metalhead at heart maybe :p
    Anyway, keep it up, I watch a lot of your stuff and so far I've never been disappointed :p

    Greatest song of all time, and the energy the live song brings is truly incredible. The recorded version is probably a bit better sounding to be honest, but it is so much fun to watch the band switching between different instruments and having fun up there! :) One day when you guys tour in the states after the MMX is done, you better stop in Oklahoma. Huge inspiration, you guys are my favorite band.

    what i really love about this is how it somehow feels like a story
    from growing and coming out of the womb, to growing up
    facing difficulties and obstacles and of overcoming them
    then to improving one's self
    to reaching the peak of your life
    and then the story continues into the future
    it feels like a real life adventure, but a comparatively realistic one

    • @Trockenshampooleopard
      @Trockenshampooleopard 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Interesting, that's how I perceive it, too. Do you divide the song into five sections, too? It reminded me immediately of the five parts of Freytags dramatic arc: exposition (0:00), rising action (2:55), climax (5:33), falling action (8:32), and dénouement (10:43) and I hope that Wintergatan will continue composing pieces of comparable length.
